      @@mirospajic9929 it was not a stupid race at all. They made sure it met each man's capabilities. It benefited Johnson on the curve and Bailey on the straight. They both agreed to it. If anything, one could say it benefited Johnson more since he was already a 200m runner who was known to run a curve pretty well and has endurance due to his 400 speed. If they ran a flat 200 Johnson, may have taken it and 100 Bailey would have so it wouldn't have settled anything. But the way Bailey ate that stagger up, I can't even say if it was a 200 Johnson would have come back. Was it EGO talking? Yes between the both of them. The only person who embarrassed himself was Johnson. No other racer has turned out running the 150 like that.

    This event happens because of the states media keep telling Michael Johnson as the fastest man thus the sadly thing is Michael Johnson claim himself as the fastest man.
    I remember few months after the Olympic there was an adidas commercial of Donovan Bailey as the fastest man.
    Bailey got the real bag after Olympic.
    The 100m winner is the fastest man on earth.
    The sport column on newspaper keep brought the debate about who the fastest man is ?
    Most article stated Bailey as the fastest man, but the us media lean on Michael Johnson.
    I does not watch this 150m race but I knew it in the morning from the newspaper.
    The photo of Donovan Bailey cross the finish line and grab 1.500.000 us dollar, the time was flat 15 seconds, not wrote as 14,99 s.
    Donovan Bailey is the 100m world record holder, how could anyone doubt about him.

      Eyyy let's goo. Finally someone who isn't trashing on someone for having an actual injury. As someone who actually did sprinting in my FR year of HS and ran 100m in 13.3 seconds, (not that fast for a HS) and who actually has had that happen to me in the 400m sprint, I know how seriously painful it is physically and mentally to have that happen to you. I'm glad Usain recovered from that splinter before he ran that 100m WR. I'm American so I do love our country as a whole (as well as other countries) but to be fair this country is more messed up then others realize.

  • @jamessouthern4143
    @jamessouthern4143 11 месяцев назад

    It really doesn't matter how you split it Michael Johnson destroyed Bailey's time in his record performance. Almost no one runs under 10 on the curve. If you actually look closely at the race just before Michael pulled up he was starting to gain quickly on Donovan. If you were to actually follow that to the finish and he did his normal final close he would have passed Bailey and shut his mouth. Truthfully this race should have been on a straight track. They were set to do a 100 and 200 after this 150 on separate days. Bailey likely would have won the 100 but then again you never know. Michael specialized in the longer distance but always ran turns. With no turn he possibly would have shown blazing speed that Donovan may not have been able to catch. Michael definitely would have taken the 200. The fact is that we will be et as this Happen. Donovan even went as far as to say Michael was faking an injury and just didn't want to be beaten and embarrassed. But then again Donovan was quite arrogant and wouldn't have accepted defeat if the race had finished and Michael would have won. Either way the facts are simple. No matter how you split it. Michael destroyed Donovan time.
    Donovan had the ignorance to also say that Michael wasn't a real sprinter because he did the 200 & 400. So I said back then let's see if Donovan can run the 400 in a semi comparable time if he thinks it's not a sprint. I would bet money and am daily certain that Michael was able to break 10 seconds in the 100 back then. If that and breaking 20 seconds in the 200 doesn't make you a real sprinter then nothing does but to also break 44 in the 400. Only a small handful of people have ever accomplished that trifecta. By the way, Donovan Ain one of them. I don't know if Michael ever ran an official 100 to prove my point but I am an quite sure he was capable.
