We love toby! My husband and I are fellow truck campers. We have a Northstar on a Ford F250. We take our 13 yr old pit mix everywhere, he loves it. Toby definitely looks like a pit/lab mix. You will never find a more loyal or lovable dog than a pitbull. It's a shame that so many are mistreated. Looks like Toby hit the jackpot finding a wonderful home and you got amazing partner; can't wait to watch the great adventures ahead..

I flushed out the Dexcool and switched to a multi vehicle coolant. That way, if I'm ever stuck up north without Dexcool for 100 miles, I'll be able to pick up green antifreeze at any small town gas station.

Did you get Toby at HART by chance? I got my dog there and it was a great experience.
I got him at the Babinski Foundation. I was also checking at HART. Both of them have such caring staff.

As a professional camp dawg breed expert, I’m going to have to say he is definitely pure bred. He appears to be a 100% good boy. No doubt about it. I lost my camp dawg recently to cancer. As we speak my in-laws are heading home after picking up my new pup, Diesel. While he will never be my wingman Gunner, I’m looking forward to introducing him to the camping/fishing life. Toby looks like he’s made himself right at home.

Toby is a pibbs. We just said goodbye to our sweet pibby this year. She was the best. Never nipped at anyone or anything. Pit bulls get a bad rap. Enjoy Toby.

I'm older now, but I grew up with dogs. My last 1 went 18 yrs. And I have to say it is AWSOME not to have a dog to worry about. I don't have to run him every single day, I don't have to chase him with the quad cuz he's chasing a coyote, deer,jack rabbit or anything else he could find to chase. I don't believe a big dog can get the exercise it's needs on a leash. Unless your a marathon runner. I'm not so I let my dogs be dogs and run with the freedom any animal deserves for 5 to 10 miles everyday on blm land.

I would be lost without my dog. I was lost when I had my last dog put to sleep after 15.5 years. I don’t trust anyone who does not like dogs. What a great looking pup! I go to a farm every two weeks with my dog. He has been going with me since week one. He took right to it. He knows the routine. We always make time for those and the things we love.
There's no worry about the cracking ice, its about a foot thick ... Its like Jesus walking on the water ... (SPLOOSH !)

As far as the troublesome Duramax, diesel place recommends changing the coolant reservoir and thermostat first. And if it still pressurizes the coolant system, it needs head gaskets. But obviously I’d pay some diagnostic time before pulling those heads.
Like you said, you can’t replace it for 10k. Fix it and keep on truckin’
Right on. I'm gonna replace the tank soon. I saw there was a sechnical service bulletin about that. Hopefully, that fixes the issue. I pulled out the old one and drained it. So far, it hasn't been over pressurized again. But I only drove it on the weekends. Thanks for the comment

Thank you so much! The first few months after Hanna passed away, I felt bad for even thinking about getting another dog. There are so many emotions that a person goes through when losing their pet. It was easier for me to tell myself that I was to busy for another puppy then actually process the emotions and grief that needed to heal. Thankfully Mandi, her kids, and my girls are all up for dog sitting while I'm at work. It's funny because I think of Toby during the day and can't wait to see him when I get home.
Im thinking he is a chocolate lab/pittie mix. Look for antlers while on your walks; They drop them this time of year. I seen Derek Biery on your tv this time,,,,lol, Vise Grip Garage fame. He aint right AT ALL.

We found a new recipe. Its like a "pig in a blanket" but this is a "Stuffed Hawaiian." Cut out long rod sections of pineapple top to bottom. Core out the baguette (and optional slice the side). Pull out a thick ham slice, slather on some Hoisin sweet soy sauce, and roll around the pineapple rod. Insert and twist the pineapple-ham (or place) into the (sliced) baguette core. Bake up in the outdoor cooking cone until the pineapple, ham and hoisin is juicy hot. Soooo gooooood !!!!

The lake noises can be really disconcerting until you get use to them. I've woken in the middle of the night and heard them and had to get my bearings before I could fall back asleep.

Sorry hear about the engine issues. Had the turbo on my 04 PSD replaced under warranty at 34k bc of coked up variable vanes. Tech said issue was partially poor fuel quality in my area and not using fuel treatments continuously. Second one lasted until the LP oil pump imploded. 😮 Can’t speak on Cummins. Went back to a gasser in my 19 2500HD. On the head gasket question, if it is going you should see some evidence in your coolant. Like the dreaded Guinness Stout foam in your degass bottle or in the oil fill tube. Try taking the oil fill cap off while running and put your hand over it. If it’s pissing and popping a ton of pressure passed you hand then could be bad sign. Hoping you just got a bad degass bottle cap. Get an OEM one. If that one has been replaced before and it’s a chinesium knock off, then it’s probably bad. Went through that on my car. Yeah, in for a penny, in for a pound nowadays on trucks. Cost me $6k to fix the 04 before I could trade out of it in 2010. Nice pup! Cool lake.

Kenny my 2012 Duramax 6.6 turbo diesel was giving me all kinds of codes and issues after not using the the engine breaking for years, one thing I did was to force the engine into engine breaking mode at every opportunity going down hills by setting the cruise control with the engine breaking active then half way down the hill start pressing the cruise negative speed button for less speed, hang on to the steering wheel because if its working correctly you will be reducing speed quickly, this was my issue and since doing this at every opportunity I don’t get the turbo codes and lack of power have disappeared. Love the new pup 😎
You are 100% spot on. I gave the vains a workout with the exhaust break. I reset the light. It's been off for the last 10 run cycles. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
