I've drawn up my cabin/house 30'X50' roof without dormers or Tennessee cuts true stone(granite) chimney and fireplace stone veneer bottom section basement/carport staircase to living quarters 3 bedroom 2 bath living room dining room kitchen pantry/laundry room den concrete block stone an spruce logs cedar shake shingles well septic tank solar wind and hydroelectric power off grid
On the small cabins the headroom is not adequate and is barely tall enough for a sleeping area. Plus you have to have a ladder or stairway which takes away room. For a loft we recommend larger dimensions, taller walls and taller peak to make it worth the extra cost of the loft.

Nice one bedroom cabins. They could even be built over a basement for an in-law staying with you for a short time. You could then have a washer and dryer, along with a bathroom. A small kitchenette with the bedroom or many different scenarios as could be utilized as I was watching. Thank you again.
Hey Ray, the outer walls of the cabin are 7'6" and not suitable as shown for a loft. We could certainly increase the log wall height and/or add a shed dormer to make a loft for storage, but the overall footprint of this cabin is too small to allow for a legal stairway to increase living space.
To get an accurate cost you would have to contact the staff at the Meadowlark Log Homes office. Cabins that size from beginning to end all costs included are probably from 40,000 to 80,000 depending how you finish them out.
If the bathroom is open at the top, why does it need an exhaust fan. Where's it blowing the exhaust? Into the rest of the cabin? The smell is already going to get there because of the open wall. The fan is just blowing it in there faster.
If that was my cabin, I'd make that bathroom half the size and put storage and a closet on the other side along with a small stacked washer/dryer, then put a ceiling on the top to allow for more storage accessible by ladder. I'd build a tiny kitchenette in the back-left corner of the room along with a small bar fridge. Cupboards above at the back and on the left. Smaller bed; prob bunkbeds against the left wall.
I feel this really isn't utilizing the space to its max potential. Id lay it out so it looked like a cozy cabin to live year round in, not to look like a motel room.

Tankless water heater is the only way to go for these style of homes. Not being any kind of way, just think maybe y'all should look into that. 👍👍

I don't understand the size. 14 x24. Why? 16x24 makes more sense. The ply wood is 8 feetx4 feet. Where did 14 ft come from?
