A little fun fact about DNA was that it initially had a different melody that none of the boys liked and Jimin took the initiative to tell the producer and CEO that they didn't like it and had it changed to this version which then got BTS their first ever billboard entry and was their gateway to the West!

Thanks for this reaction! 😊 Listening to you break down the tracks as a producer isn't boring at all. It actually solidifies BTS' talent and vision. Also, BTS songs age quite well. I think apart from their sound, their messages are timeless so you can go back to their older songs and will still be relevant. Have you reacted to or listened to Fire yet? You should if you haven't. 💜

Sir you can ramble about the mixing and the sound all you like. As well as critiquing because that’s what I’m personally here for. Real reactions and opinions. This song is timeless. Also a tiny small fact, before this song came out, their boss Bang PD wrote the melody and sent it to the boys which they were like nooo way, this is terrible. So RM told the company and the day it was time for jimin to record, bang pd asked jimin again if he didn’t like it, and while jimin was nervous to tell their boss no, he just straight up told him, yup it’s bad! so bang pd rewrote it and we got this DNA! so shout out to jimin for speaking up. It wouldnt sound this amazing if it wasn’t for him speaking up. 💗

Thank you very much Nathan! I love as others have mentioned you give your expertise, your knowledge to the making of this reaction. We can know we love something but not know really the why and you put that in. Also, I have often thought about Suga ( his producer side) when you do your thing, I am sure he would greatly respect your understanding (probably all the boys at this point with their added level of producing) and tell others how complex it is. I can also relate more to Sugas making of MV when he is frustrated. So again Thank you! It is fun to watch your level of respect for BTS. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Watch IDOL... so colorful too. Haters said they used fake backgrounds in their videos so they went a head and did it with these songs to show the difference, saying I'll show you fake. the same way the videos are epic and no idleness in actions... that the same way their concerts are... they are always moving. I get exhausted watching them...

It's interesting the way you explain and describe the music and it's production in a spatial way.. Music in 3D.. If we look at the DNA choreo, it's always using that in and out mouvements, like a heart, sometimes they are very closed, then the group expands... I learn a lot with your videos! GREAT RÉACTION !

Check out Jeff Satur from Thailand. He writes (in English and Thai), produces and plays the instruments. For a Beautiful ballad watch the live English version of Why Don’t You Stay from his Thai drama which he acts in called KinnPorsche and for his more poppy songs his current song Black Tie, or Dum Dum, or Fade. There are English versions for a lot of his songs.

I most definitely think you'll like to react to a compilation of their high notes or the live performances of Let Me Know and Hold Me Tight. Those two songs had me on chokehold for Jimin's vocals, especially his high notes. Another song suggestion is their Japanese songs like Crystal Snow and Lights. Similar to their song Film Out to which you already reacted to, most of their Japanese Songs are very sentimental and I think you will like them very much.
On a side note, please react to A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 to get to know them deeper. Thank you for these amazing reactions!

BTS' songs "taught" me to listen not only to the voice in a song, but to all the stuff that is going on behind . There is so much layering! And depending on what earphones you use, you sometimes get these 'oh,I never heard/noticed that sound (adlibs, instrument,...) before '!

Still hoping for that video on auto-tune works, and how it is used as an element not only to correct a vocal. I think how they used in on RM in dynamite and then he looks funny at the mic in the video.

That’s one thing I love about the music- it grows with them through their discography but STILL is totally current. There are many clipped moments of their songs brought out onto tiktok and socials by people who don’t even know BTS (insane ik) that just clip them due to it sounding so neat.
To my ears, I love their production value which is why I started being intrigued by them in the first place. The way the tracks are made and how they do the pre chorus’ verses, bridges and all of it just is layered well and MUSIC to my ears. I now go back to listen to some of the songs I used to listen to ( a lot of western artists ) and it’s not that the songs are totally horrible, some are still great songs, it’s just the production value is so much lower in the sound, or just so different - repeats over and over and not much imagination or switch ups. Can’t listen to them too much unless it’s while I’m working out and it rolls through on a playlist

I enjoy your comments and stories about the production techniques and thoughts behind sounds very much! And your good mood too.
You mentioned you’d like to hear suggestion of songs from other countries… (I’m danish).
Maybe some time you might listen to:
    From Denmark:
Lukas Graham “You’re not there” and/or “7 years”. Look for the official mv for best sound, but you know that :-).
Or you might be in the mood for something totally different?
    From Faroe Islands/Iceland:
Eivor Palsdottir: “Trollabundin” - the 10.08.2013 outdoor performance.
    or
    Iceland:
Jonsi’s “Sticks & Stones” - you might find the video with lyrics and translation most helpful.
    or Norway:
Royksopp “Here she comes again” (Original).
    or
    Northern Sweden/Lappland:
Sofia Jannok “Irene” (official video) - for this one you might want to google “joik” to understand more about the way of singing and the Sami people of northern Scandinavia.
In any case! Listen to anything you like, and keep sharing what your ears tell you about the sounds and soundscapes. It’s really interesting and helpful in appreciating the music more. Like treasure hunting!
Best regards and thanks, Nethe from Denmark

Hi, Nathan. A more upbeat one this DNA, yah? A suggestion if you don't mind : appreciate if you could react to another song of theirs called "ON". On their official music video, you will be amazed by the cinematography(?). And then do a 2-in-1 (hey, you'll then get to lusten to the song twice!) in one reaction video by reacting also to "ON : Kinetic Manifesto" which was filmed in a dam in California. I would do the MV first, followed by the Manifesto. They are 2 separate MVs - both are a feast for the eyes and ears. Go for it, Nathan! I'll be sure to search you up for it! Thanks!

Hi Nathan, I recommend you to listen to DNA Pedal LA version, no MV, I think you will love that, very Rock 🤘 version. 💜

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but there's also a "DNA: Pedal To LA" remix that adds electric guitars and comes off as almost a completely different, but still awesome (!) song.
P.S. I loved Plus One! I remember watching you on Days Of Our Lives, Touched By An Angel, and how "Last Flight Out" was the most requested video on Alternet for weeks on end. (I doubt anyone else gets those references.)

Dear Nathan, I am Italian , 64 years old and I love BTS.
I suggest you to react to these wonderfull songs o theirs.
2! 3! (Hoping for more good days), Hold me tight, Daeng, attack on Bangtan, Stigma.
Congrats for your excellent comments and for loving these magnificent fab 7. In Stigma you’ll eventually appreciate Taehyung’ s extraordinary baritonal vocal range and his soulfullness.
Besides their good music, their amazing skill in singing, rapping and dancing: most of their songs are full of significance and meanings.

I have 2 favorite (Singer/Rapper) Producer-Reactor here on YT that I always depend on for additional informational insights for BTS music - Blake McLain for Pop (focuses more on the sound details, he explains it in a way that even non-music expert can understand and he spotted a lot of text paintings that BTS does w/o him knowing, he's always pretty spot on on noticing important details in the sound that connects w/ the lyrics even tho he has no idea) and Knox Hill for HipHop (focuses more on lyrics, this man is such a wordsmith and philosopher too, he's accurate in determining the things BTS wants to convey w/ their lyrics as if has also witnessed BTS alongside us and gives additional insights that could extend our own interpretation). These 2 are the best in giving reviews because aside from their skills & knowledge, they just purely analyzes the music devoid of prejudice regardless the artist of that music, I can see the excitement growing in every interesting detail that they discover, same people passionate for music. I'm glad that I can see that you're heading in the same direction as them, because honestly your first impression on me was not quite good. I hope you'll continue to react to BTS more relaxed but at the same time excited in discovering more about them and their music. 💜 Some of my fave BTS Songs that has text paintings, "134340", "Lie", "Jamais Vu", "Zero O'Clock", "Don't Leave Me".. "Whalien 52" uses a whale-like sound in the production, this song is dear to us for its relatable lyrics...

@NathanWalters I love your videos and breakdowns, that is, with one exception - a general, blanket exception. As a fellow artist, I get irritated and uncomfortable when a professional like yourself feels pressure to apologize for "not reacting properly" or "not catering". I REALLY wish it wasn't like that. Art is subjective, period. You are a professional musician, recording artist, producer AND "Former Boy Band Member" for crying out loud! You can analyze, pause, rewind, eat a sandwich, rewind again, talk, not talk, sing, dance, check notes and chords on your piano, promote your favorite Russian tea and enlighten us about stacked tracks all you want because this is YOUR house! You are respectful and patient. You don't yell, rant or act disingenuous. You educate and entertain without editing - a major skill in and of itself! AND you have the coolest hair cut 😎 Thanks, just needed to get that irritant my chest. Happy Holidays to you and your family!! 💜

When you said you thought it might be outdated, I though "Hmmm reckon he might change his mind" lol.
ruclips.net/video/IK8OOpeYHC4/видео.html I share with you Stan Walker former winner of Australian Idol. He wrote and performed I AM from the movie ORIGIN. He is an Australian born Maori. The Maori people are indigenous to New Zealand (Aotearoa - Land of the long white cloud). This is the theatrical version and doesn't have subtitles. There are parts when he sings in Maori. But you should be able to google them. I didn't share the lyric video because this version is incredibly epic.
