💜The Truth Untold - for anyone who doesn't know.... this is how they conceptualised the song: They created a very old and sad story called, 'La Città di Smeraldo' that takes place in a small town in Italy ( in the 16th Century -1500's). The story's about an 'ugly' man who hid in an old castle alone, even though he was a gentle good person, because of his looks he received lots of hate & cruelty while growing up. He never opened his heart to anyone. Eventually if anyone tried to approach him, he covered his deformed face with a mask and hid in fear, ...So he became bitter and angry. His one happiness in life was to plant beautiful flowers in his walled off garden. One night a woman appeared near the man's castle. She jumped over the garden fence and stole a flower. This angered the man at first. So he watched his garden all night. But when he fell asleep, the woman took another flower. This continued for several nights. The man pretended to be asleep and watched the woman steal a flower. He started becoming curious about the woman. He began waiting for her. Without realizing he started waiting for her to come and each day began to seem a little brighter. Following after her one day he realized that she was selling the flowers that she stole from him to try to make a living. The man falling in love so desperately wanted to help the woman. But he was afraid she would be terrified by the way he looks if he approached her. He 'knew' she would never be able love his 'grotesque' appearance. He came to a conclusion that the only way he would be able to help her is to keep himself hidden and let her continue stealing flowers from his garden. The man decided to make a flower that doesn't exist on the planet. So that the woman could sell them at a expensive price. He began to create the flower in his castle. After many unsuccessful attempts, the man created the most beautiful of all flowers (The Smeraldo Flower) and filled his garden with these beautiful flowers. But the woman stopped coming. No matter how long he waited she never came back to his garden. He eventually found out that the woman had starved to death before he could give her the flower that would have saved her. If only he had been brave enough to approach her😭 The smeraldo flower plays a part in the Bangtan Universe storyline, and you will see it in various MVs. The Smeraldo flower symbolizes the sincerity that could not be delivered. The moral of the story, as interpreted by BTS, is that people are entrapped in the depths of misery and darkness due to a lack of self-love and confidence. The protagonist would have probably felt much better, had he talked to her and confronted his fears and insecurities. In addition, another aspect is the way people are affected by childhood trauma and dysfunctional families. The man was highly affected by his childhood trauma caused by nasty comments made by people. Don’t worry about stopping, you can’t do your reaction without stopping. Jimin was ill for one of the performances of this I think. He asked JK to take over his part if he couldn’t sing but he got through it without resorting to handing over to JK. The story this is based on, ‘La Cittá di Smeraldo’ is rather like ‘Beauty and the Beast’. The Smeraldo flower doesn’t exist in real life. You’ll see Jin with the flower in one of their other songs.

this is absolutely one of the best songs of the boys, Their "ballad" songs have something that makes the difference. Some other groups have good singers, good ballad songs but they are just other ballad songs. BTS ballad songs... have something that breaks you are different because they are not the typical ballad songs and that's what made them so special.

About the stopping thing - as a musician and a lover of a well crafted & well performed song - it is hard to hear it stopped just before an obvious crescendo, run or to not hear the song unfold as they perform without frequent breaks. Maybe you could listen to/enjoy the song & then take another few minutes to play it again add your notes/thoughts, etc.? Or at least back it up a bit more with every stop to get a better sense of the entire song/performance? . It unintentionally feels like a bit of disservice to the performance/music - particularity with a song of this type. You were correct - this is a 'stage mix' compilation of multiple live performances. Just my two cents worth/opinion - others may love the very frequent stopping and ultimately your reaction is for your enjoyment, not mine.

To explain it better, these were from the Love Yourself trilogy where Love Yourself: Her is all about falling in love, all happy and poppy and bright; Love Yourself: Tear is when things start to change in the relationship (where Fake Love and The Truth Untold are), much darker in tone and colors; and Love Yourself: Answer is where they realize they need to love themselves before loving anyone else. YAY! I wanted you to cover this song!!! Can't wait! Every year we as fans get to see photos of the cherry blossoms that bloom. RM is one of the main writers for BTS and he's into nature. He takes us on bike rides. We've gone to the water and he's caught tiny crabs. He's such a nerd at heart. And flowers, his last song is about lying down field of flowers. As hectic as their lives are, RM brings a calm to my life. I'm OT7 but I've always had a thing for Jimin's voice. Okay, time to get to work on those english lyrics!

this is absolutely one of the best songs of the boys, Their "ballad" songs have something that makes the difference. Some other groups have good singers, good ballad songs but they are just other ballad songs. BTS ballad songs... have something that breaks you are different because they are not the typical ballad songs and that's what made them so special.
I had never heard this song. It is really beautiful. Thank you so much for showing it. I wish BTS vocal line would do more songs like this, singing at the same time with harmonies and ad libs. They did such a great job.

Thank you for your BTS reactions and I did love your cover of fake love! About the stopping thing - as a musician and a lover of a well crafted & well performed song - it is hard to hear it stopped just before an obvious crescendo, run or to not hear the song unfold as they perform without frequent breaks. Maybe you could listen to/enjoy the song & then take another few minutes to play it again add your notes/thoughts, etc.? Or at least back it up a bit more with every stop to get a better sense of the entire song/performance? . It unintentionally feels like a bit of disservice to the performance/music - particularity with a song of this type. You were correct - this is a 'stage mix' compilation of multiple live performances. Just my two cents worth/opinion - others may love the very frequent stopping and ultimately your reaction is for your enjoyment, not mine.

BTS albums are usually stories to be appreciated in order. The Truth Untold was in the same album as Fake Love, so they deal with similar subjects and are in the same point in the story.
To explain it better, these were from the Love Yourself trilogy where Love Yourself: Her is all about falling in love, all happy and poppy and bright; Love Yourself: Tear is when things start to change in the relationship (where Fake Love and The Truth Untold are), much darker in tone and colors; and Love Yourself: Answer is where they realize they need to love themselves before loving anyone else. Keep in mind that they include all kinds of love in this story.
Sometimes, the vocal line, the 4 vocalist, will only be singing, and then the rap line will only rap.
Then you have the 3 J's j hope, jimin, and jungkook that do dance numbers.

Yes, they have several songs where only the vocal line or only the rap line sings. These are usually very complex and special songs, in which both lines can perfectly show their talents separately. (not incidentally, the other half of the team changes clothes and takes a tiny break, which is important during a live concert) I find it amazing how harmoniously the BTS can combine the sounds of the two lines in their OT7 songs. They create a great balance in which everyone has their own place. It's quite amazing.

FAKE LOVE and the Truth Untold are both songs from BTS album, Love Myself Tear. This particular album of the Love Myself trilogy focuses on the "dark" side of Love. Which is like losing yourself to "love" someone else by not being truthfully who you are. The songs in this album explore those negative or dark sides of Love which is not always bright and beautiful.

It's a compilation of various concert videos edited together, but with only one live vocal from one concert throughout...and YES, each album has a theme and the songs on it will both touch various aspects within the theme, but certain lyrics in the songs will callback and echo lyrics in other songs on the same album AS WELL AS callback to previous songs on other albums that also touch on that theme, to create an entire continuous storyline
It's like many songs have 'Easter eggs' in them to show ARMY that there is a connection in place that BTS wants us to recognize
