You stumbled across my favorite BTS Japanese single: "Stay Gold" which is a song from the original soundtrack for the drama series Spiral Labyrinth. It is also the lead single from the band's 4th Japanese studio album, Map of the Soul: 7 - The Journey.
I often find myself randomly singing this song, it just pops up out of nowhere and I'm humming the chorus.
Many fans believe it is inspired by both the Robert Frost poem, Nothing Gold Can Stay and the S.E. Hinton novel, The Outsiders, which you probably know from the movie starring many of the brat pack, the 80's actor version of a boy band: Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon, C.Thomas Howell, and Leif Garrett.
The harmonising at the end between Jimin and JK (which is so much better live)👌
But the woe oh oh part sounds like only Jk. They do a lot of back and forth and harmonizing at the end, but if Jimin is in that one part they didn’t bring out his voice nice because I can’t hear him.
I find I love all of their Japanese songs, Give Chrystal Snow a listen, or Lights ,Film Out to name a few.💜

That beautiful garden they were exploring was built especially for them, no green screen. This is what makes BTS so enthralling, everybody puts their all into the making of their mv’s. The song when it came out out was a breath of fresh air during lockdown for many.

It doesn’t sound like Jimin AT ALL. It sounds like JK, but I’m not sure it isn’t I’m almost positive it isn’t Jimin.

So glad you reacted tot this! Stay Gold is a special song on their Japanese Album MOTS Journey, released during COVID. There is no Korean version. The guys have released 2 Japanese albums to date. This song is so upbeat & happy. It is a total mood lifter. Japanese is very phonetic, so you can sing along too!

I absolutely love BTS’ Japanese songs! They are among my favorites by them! Autumn Leaves, Crystal Snow, Let Go, and Film Out to name a few! The year Film Out was released, it was my number #1 song on Spotify for that year! Stay Gold is definitely a feel good song. The lyrics are warm and inviting. I absolutely love listening to Jungkook and Jimin’s vocals running together in songs like this! Jungkook’s ad libs are amazing as always! I enjoy the cadence used by Suga and RM in this song. Nathan, you should definitely listen to more of their Japanese releases! I will also recommend checking out their songs entitled Paradise and 134340! Oh and Your Eyes Tell is incredible. It was written by Jungkook for an OST, but he decided to release it with all of them singing it and not just him. I know you love falsettos and this one will not disappoint!!

Your Eyes Tell (live) and Don’t Leave Me are also great Japanese songs by BTS that are definitely worth a listen. JK wrote and/or produced the first, and the second, they have never sang live other than a few bars acapela during a concert.
Hahaah it's like you watch BTS but you're full on trying to get what the producer was doing who prolly is Pdogg. And at some point it even stops becoming about bts but it's fun!

That was a great reaction, Nathan but the one thing about this which stands out for me is how perfect the Japanese language works here. To my ears Japanese is a neat, clipped language whereas Korean is rounded and soft. That was our Jimin hitting those high notes in the adlibs towards the end. Have you done Airplane Pt2? I feel like you've really found your niche in these BTS reaction videos. Explaining the production levels is really interesting! We already have dance reactors and lyric reactors and just general reactors, but you bring your expertise to an area less covered and you explain it well. Thank you!

Nathan,I don't know if you have checked it out, but a song which has the type of vibe that you talked abt - using a specific vocal like an instrument can be seen in is 'life goes on' by BTS. there's a kind of synth sound vocal ( which i think is jimin) that starts off the song. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can vouch for that.
Also stay gold is definitely a song u should listen to the live version of to get the full experience.

BTS has become my favorite Kpop group. Before I knew them I was listening to Ftisland and Cnblue. I very much believe you would enjoy reviewing Ftisland. They are more of a rock band, but the Lee Hong Ki has an unique voice and sings a lot of ballads too. My personal favorite song is Catch a Falling Star.

This is one of my favorite BTS songs. If you haven't listened to "Film Out" or "Your Eyes Tell", please add them.
As far as other groups, you should check out PTX (Pentatonix). They are the most successful acapella group and amazing. They did a mashup of Butter and Dynamite. Try "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Sound of Silence", "Mary Did You Know", "The Prayer" to start and/or these are originals "Sing", "Be My Eyes", and "Coffee in Bed".
I think you should react to some TXT (tomorrow by together) as well. I am going to suggest a couple of videos that are a bit unusual to react to. TXT's OST for the Anime World Trigge, called "Force" but on The channel "The First Take" where artists get one take to record their song in a white studio, no dancing or any distractions just music and singing (this is a Japanese song) . The second recommendation is a mixture of different performers from different groups doing a performance together at MAMA awards in 2023 on a segment called Wonder stage where different artist collaborate together. Yoshiki, Taehyun and Hueningkai from TXT, Jaehyun from Boy Next Door and Anton from Riize and Hanyujin from Zerobaseone performing Endless Rain a song written by Yoshiki originally for his group XJapan in 1989. This performance was really amazing!
