JK did that run, JK is the ad lib man here. The other guys have dabbled in doing that, but Jk is the expert ad libber. So proud of him. JHope is so good a vocalist, he just lacks confidence in himself as this is new to him. He emotes so beautifully. He’s my bias, she says with pride….💜

JK is amazing at the adlibs but so is Hobi. The two are often used on tracks for layering of vocals, adlibs etc. as well.
They are The Very First to be allowed to film a Music Video in the UN. I've been there. The place is usually humming with people. But they shut down that main room for them! However, the beginning was
probably filmed at night. I was a tourist there a long time ago. They do allow tourists to observe and walk through the balcony. You do feel the presence of all the countries represented there. The history. The grandeur! But they were there during the pandemic. Very few people there. One of the backup dancers shared on video what is was like to be chosen. No one did a physical in person audition. They cast dancers who knew somebody. Had connections. They already knew they could dance and perform well with BTS. But she said the security clearance they had to go through was intense. You had to have a spotless background! Because they had to be cleared for a top security clearance...a world security clearance. Because people all over the world were there. And they all had to be tested for covid. No sickness. They were tested again the day of the filming. Many didn't clear the International Security clearance. And some tested positive for covid. And even if you had a cold you weren't allowed in. She said she felt so lucky she made it all the way through to final cut!
no i think it was during the day because a backup dancer was sitting outside waiting and he explained it in a yt video he was an army so it was a big deal for him.
after the first room was recorded they came out and jimin greeted the dancer and then after that they moved outside and did that part. but it could be early in the morning. it was filmed right before the live speech. and i believe you se daylight in the behind the scene video from it.
It was done in two sessions I think. I remember a bangtan bomb of them being there as soon as they got off the plane and then they had to film the one outdoors during daytime. It was long day for them.
JK is the king of ad-libs for BTS...He adds and suggests so much of them in their songs

The run you talked about is Jungkook!!! He does majority of the adlibs, runs, and harmonizing with the other members! Great reaction.

In the introduction to BTS videos they specify that J-Hope is a rapper and sub vocalist. Jungkook is the main vocalist (not Jin) and Jungkook is a sub rapper (in some of their earlier songs like Danger and their debut song, No More Dream). Jimin and Jungkook do most of the ad libs and backgrounds. BTS has two songs that have no rapping...all of the members sing instead and those two songs are Dynamite and Permission to Dance.

That ad-lib run is Jungkook. At that time, Jin sings the na na na~ part. If you watch other live videos, you will know
A lot of the ad-lib parts in BTS' songs are from Jungkook. You can see that Jungkook is almost always included in the chorus of every BTS song.

THEY DO NOT USE AUTO TUNE UNLESS IT IS INTENTIONAL! Please stop saying it on every reaction you do. They use very little auto tune if any at all. That is their voices and yes they are that good. Korean performers work so much harder than other countries to perfect their singing and dancing. For some reason you are just not able to believe they are that good of singers. Also, all three rappers did solo projects and they can all sing very well too.

Like, they have 4 vocalists & 3 rappers, they are a music group, making different kind of music in different genres, singing, dancing, rapping, producing, composing, writing, they do lots of stuff. But he mostly misses many things.

If I remember rightly they flew in and had to do this recording very early in the morning. Then they had to speak to the assembly. Don’t worry about being distracted by Jimin. It’s called the Jimin Effect and few can avoid it. The behind the scenes of this is interesting and one of their support dancers did a video explaining how he got the job. Some of the runs were Jimin but I think that run you were taken with was JK.
They did do it in morning, didn't they said they got right off the plane and straight into make-up for the indoor scene? I think they said that the dancers that met them were so energetic and cheery that it cheered them right up too.

And if you happen to see their disney + documentary, when they filmed this performace they did it again and again (when they notice even just 1 second late of steps) until it turns perfectly. No room for mistake for these multi talented 7 boys 💜.

It was Jungkook who did that run. Although you might hear some adlibs from Jimin and Taehyung on occasion, Jungkook primarily does those adlibs.
Also, at 10:47 mark, watch as they line up. You see their back and they are stretching their arms out as the camera pans around to their front... Not only are they singing, but they are also singing in sign language. They done this in other songs, but they incorporate signing throughout this entire song (you'll see it best in the official mv,) because they wanted EVERYONE to have Permission to Dance. Love these guys.
this is a Ed Sheeran song that he gave to BTS to sing, he had previously given them the song "Make it right" as well. BTW BTS are amazing songwriters in their own right is there anything they can't do lol. I doubt it.
I am a &TEAM stan (another Hybe group) but BTS will always have a special place in my heart. like millions worldwide we wait their safe return in 2025
Jungkook is the king of ad libs since he is the one that does most of it in BTS. Most likely it’s Jungkook singing when you are hearing the adlibs in BTS songs. He probably adlib more than songs you find in western countries. It’s believed he has perfect pitch since he rarely sings out of tune. You should react to a fanmade video called Jungkook doesn’t know auto tune. It shows him singing in outside concert performance situations like in his room singing for fan requests or backstage singing without any music playing, etc…

Maybe they were feeling more free. This was the first time they had been able to go outside of Korea since the pandemic started. What I thought was interesting is that they did play this video for the General Assembly after their speech. If you remember Permission to Dance and the MV was about coming out of the pandemic and taking off the masks and just living. And they not only danced in the UN but then showed it to all of them and the pandemic wasn't over yet! Yes epic! You really should watch the first time they were at the UN and RM spoke about their love yourself /speak yourself campaign. It truly shows why he is the leader. So eloquent. Glad you got to watch this. 😀💜

I love the nuances and break downs you give us with the production etc. Most people who are “former” boy band members don’t have the knowledge you do. It’s refreshing because I can tell you are truly enjoying this versus trying to get clout. Here's the deal, all 7 BTS Members are all-rounders. They all can sing, rap, beat box, dance, play instruments, & run sound boards. You can hear J-hope sing during the BTS Tiny Desk Concert. Also, just a FYI: If you watch the Busan Concert, Jhope comes out on that stage and is on Fire. He also kills during the performance of UGH & Cypher 3. Last: On Jimin's new album, FACE, he plays the guitar.
BTS is the very first to perform inside the UNGA. They have been invited in the past to deliver speeches but on that year they were invited not just deliver their speeches but was permitted to record and perform inside the UNGA. And yes no other band has done that before. Only BTS.
There have been other singers who have performed at the UN Shakira, Beyonce, Palestinian pop singer Mohammad Assaf, Brazilian singer Gilberto Gil, and Indian Carnatic singer M.S. Subbulakshmi. But BTS is the first group to perform there.
JK is so good at runs and ad libs. I believe he did the run you referred to and not Jin or Jimin. They all did so good. This video makes me smile every time I watch it.
For me i like it when it's more sound like their natural voices or raw. I don't like it when they edit BTS's voice so much that it make it sounds like they're lip syncing, when they are not.
Since you often talk about the production side of things, you might be interested in reacting to some songs that Suga has produced. "Stay Alive" by Jungkook is one of my favorite songs produced by Suga. The production is cinematic (it's a soundtrack for their webtoon) and Jungkook's vocal here is fantastic.
This song is a masterpiece. Written and produced by Suga and masterfully performed by JK

You should watch the new docu series about the band (BTS Monuments : beyond the star), there are a lot of insights on the band's evolution, struggles, and key moments, which new fans are not necessarily aware of ! Especially that UN moment, which came right after they received diplomatic passports from the Korean government !
as I'm missing bts a lot it makes it hard for me to decide what to watch sometimes, but seeing your videos on my feed enables me to relive these moments happily 🥰

There's actually a live version of the vocal line rapping Ddaeng. It's really good.
Also remember it could be the tone of their voice because English is their second language. I think it’s cute how it makes their voices sound a little different when they sing because I’m so use to hearing them sing mostly in Korean.
Ive been a fan to Backstreet boys, FIVE Plus one your group. But i never loved an artist like i love BTS. they are the best and the most talented boyband of all time.

Jimin is such a great performer
Over the years BTS have spoken at the UN General Assembly on three diffrrent occasions. You should listen to RM's famous "speak yourself" speech at the UN.
The did the recording hours after arriving to the US and started it dawn until the sunrise before the working hour starts in the UN then did the speech in front of the delegates afterwards. BTS was issued special envoy passports for this event. This is btw their 3rd time to deliver speech in the United Nations
This was their 3rd U.N appearances (2018...2020 •online• & 2021) 1st Kpop act 2 perform

The reason BTS was singing at the UN ... is a long story!
In 2017, BTS and Big Hit Entertainment wanted to do something to improve the lives of children around the world. They chose to partner with the Korean and Japanese committees for UNICEF, to raise funds and awareness to further the work of UNICEF's campaign to #ENDviolence. They launched a hashtag #BTSLoveMyself. Over a 3 year span, it was used over 14 million times across various social media. They made a large initial contribution, and also put into motion fundraising strategies:
contributing 3% of all income from physical album sales of the Love Yourself series (Her, Tear, and Answer)
giving 100% of all sales of official Love Myself campaign goods
setting up donation booths at BTS concert venues
This was the beginning of events that led them to speak at the UN 3 times, including this most recent time, when they presented Permission to Dance.

Yeah i think the same, the outdoor is a recording in a closed door studio and the timing of Jimin and Jin putting away the mic was a bit early than the lyrics. But still its their voices with less musical instruments. BTS 💜

I adore you and your BTS reactions. I love seeing your trip down the rabbit hole. I don’t think anyone has ever performed here before either. Just one of the many aspects of the wonderful journey is not only performances in unique places, but also three unique and powerful visits to the United Nations to speak and their visit to see President Biden and support the Black Lives Matter movement.
I’m sure you have also heard of the power of ARMY in that regard and others.
BTS’s movement for unity in all ways and the Love Yourself campaign have changed many lives.

I always listen to Jin during live performances, because he has more pops and air sounds when he sings live. That is how I tell others to distinguish BTS live. Thank you for all the reverb insight.

While you don't pay much attention to their lyrics and overall message, it's really uplifting and with their popularity, it got the attention of the UN. So they are there to relay their message and have given multiple speeches. This was during their 3rd time at the UN. Really a nice song. Also JK is the king of ad-libs but Jimin does some really nice adlibs too. lol. I wish Jin did more, when he does them I just love it but he doesn't do it often.
Did you mention that this BTS choreography includes ASL (sign language)? So they are singing, dancing and signing. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

might i suggest watching several of the epic mama or mma awards show performances in their entirety to get a grasp of the level bts can take things. there will be a compilation of bts songs and performances of a half hour or more that often get clipped on vids, a spectacle where american awards shows can't even compare.
Love your perspective on videos and performances, and I know you are recently active with BTS, but just a FYI, most runs, harmonizing, riffs, adlibs, background vocals, etc., are done by the main vocalist of BTS, Jungkook. Their roles are listed as the following: RM is leader and main rapper, J-Hope is main dancer, rapper and sub vocalist, Jin is vocalist and visual, Suga is lead rapper, Jimin is main dancer and lead vocalist, V is lead dancer, vocalist and visual, and Jungkook is main vocalist, sub rapper, lead dancer, and center. Just to clarify (because it confused me initially), being the “Main” is higher than “Lead”.
V was added in dance line BUT not as Lead Dancer , but as a dancer.

They were there as So Korean ambassadors to all do speeches at the UN regarding sustainability AND I think this was one of the first times they performed around actual people WITHOUT masks…..so the freedom and pure joy they were exuding was genuine for them💜 if I remember correctly…..the US restrictions were lifted much earlier then their own country so they weren’t able to experience this type of freedom back home🥺

The lobby is a lot different than the Assembly Room. It's got circular walls surrounding the assembly room, a floor of tile or marble instead of carpet, and is much, much higher. It has an echo. Inside, world business is being conducted and people have to hear each other. The lobby is an entrance, you should hear the noise when the excited 2nd graders come to see all the flags and the curvy wall.
BTS's main public charity is UNICEF (United Nations Childrens' Educational Fund) and their cause is ending violence against children and anti-bullying.

The MV was filmed while we were STILL in lock down so of course they are a bit more subdued. This one was filmed live with actual people dancing with them so yes, it's more lively and they are having big fun!

Just a tip for you: If you want to know if BTS sings live or not, look at their lips. BTS sucks in lipsynching thats why they prefer live.
