@@TankTastic haha I bet the vivid 2 does a great job on a tank that fits though. Thanks, because of your comparison, I opted for the WRGB2 for my ADA 90p. I think if I got the Vivid, I’d have to raise it so high for coverage that I’d get a ton of light spillage even with shades installed. You saved me money!
Great video... A little out of my price range but still a great video. I think you got it right with the shorter length light when you use it for a concentrated area of the tank and NOT the entire area. This would apply opposite for the full length light as well. You would want the full length of your plants are taking up the full substrate area, not just a corner section.
Your videos helped me a lot. I was originally stuck between the ONF and the Chihiros (Vivid 2 and WRGB 2), but your other video steered me away from the ONF. My aquarium is a tall tank and is 5 inches deeper than the 90p. After watching this video, I ended up going with the Vivid 2 with shades. If my plants don't do well, I'll follow your advice and get a second one.
Yea ONf not worth it for the price. If it was cheaper, then maybe. Vivid on a 90p can work, all depending on how you structure the tank. But yea, a second vivid would solve any problem that you may run into with coverage. Its a lot of elements in play here. Lmk how it goes!

Depending on your budget, I think with the 180cm you should do two vivid2 OR Check put Weak Aqua T90 Rocket lights. You might need 3 of those though but price cheaper than the vivids
@@TankTastic Awesome thanks for the quick reply. I'm hoping to get two Vivid 2. Do you think the VIVID 2 will grow some carpeting plants all the way down at 60cm? I'm assuming so just looking at the PAR readings
Hello @tanktastic, here got a question, hopefully you mind to share. What is your current RGB % setting on Chihiros WRGB(II)? Are you adjust by your preference like, or by what plant needed?
I have the RGB Vivid 2 , it covers my whole 90 cm x 45 cm x 45 cm tank. I suggest you should buy the 2 shades it comes with and attach a reflector inside the shade you will see the light tightly compact instead of spreading the light to your whole room It's even way too strong for my whole tank which cause an algal bloom i have to reduce it to 50%
It covers the whole 90cm (length wise) but you have to raise it quite a bit. Back to front is no problem. Also when I mean coverage is even amount of the hot spot. 😁 reflectors a good idea though.
I have a 110 x 50 x 50 tank, what would be better? A Wrgb 2 pro 120 or 2 RGB Vivid II Mini? There is no Wrgb 2 pro 90 available in the store. That's why I ask you about the 120 cm one.

Considering the wrgb 2 is one of the few 'upgrades' from a fluval plant I'm really surprised nobody has done a PAR test to compare the 2. The wrgb2 looks better for sure, but I really want to see if it outperforms the fluval in terms of par or not.
Which do you think have a better color rendition WRGB2 or Vivid 2 or better may I know how you describe each others color rendition, I have vivid 2 and it makes everything Pops out which I like, I am planning to buy WRGB2 if it gives more a natural look. Thank you man
I would say its pretty similar, if anything maybe the Vivid2. It got a bit kore power and that may allow you to push either the red, blue, or green more if you choose to.
Vivid II RGB LED are same as those RGB ribbon. And two Vivid II have enormous coloring differences with the same RGB setting. You will not want to have two of them if you have big tanks. HI! Great review! I have a 165 x 60 x 70 cm (length x width x height) aquarium and I keep african cichlids. I am planning to buy a Chihiros WRGB II 120 cm. What do you think, this 120 cm LED is ok for an aquarium with 165 cm length ? About 22 cm will not be covered by the LED light on both sides. Could it be annoying? Thanks in advance for your help!
The vivid 2 should be plenty for a 90p according to ADA they use one solar rgb for a 90p these lights are supposed to be hung 30cm above the tank (or 1ft )
Oh absolutely I agree you can def use that for a 90p. Just gotta turn on the power and go higher like you said. Just that for price conscious hobbyist, the wrgb2 90 IMO would be the best bang for the buck. Also Chihiros par data shows that outside of directly under the light source, you will lose significant par value. This would not matter for easy plants, but it’s going to be tough for plants that requires a bit more light. But then again, it depends on what you plant and how you map out the tank. Didnt mean to write an essay lol love your channel btw!
I think the coverage of the Vivid is better if you hang it higher. But I’m not sure if it can make up the par for the extra height. The WRGB is better value imo. Are the leds the same in the RGB A plus?
