    As some of you have already pointed out, the next Vlog will be #100! It should be celebrated.. So if you have any suggestions on how I can make the video a little bit extra special let me know!:) What would you like to see?

      Magnus Midtbø it would be really cool to see how you get strong and make the jump from 8a Maximum climbing to 9b climbing, what are the components you have to train to become strong like worldcup climber. Not need to show in vlog 100 but it is cool if you can do this. As special vlog, you can climb the 10 hardest routes and boulders in gym, I think most of the people love to see you climbing on hard things, made this look so easy. Also another DWS would be cool as a special. Keep going in 2018 with your brother!

      Magnus Midtbø Sykt nice at broren din er med. Hadde vært fett om du kommenterer på hva han kan gjøre bedre på problemene. Kult å se, spesielt for oss som klatrer på Oslo Klatresenter.
      Til Vlog #100 kan du jo feks. gjøre noe som folk ikke har sett deg gjøre før... feks. isklatring, nå som det er vinter 😉

    7:28 belayer is standing like 6m away from the wall. In a serious fall he’d smash against the wall, probably let go of the brake hand on his tube-style belay device and therefore kill his climber.

    • @osogeo
      @osogeo 4 года назад +5

      I came to the comment section to mention him, too. If he gets lifted off by a lead whipper, all that extra rope will go into the fall. This could potentially lead to groundfalls in gyms even without letting go of the brake hand. Stand close to the wall people! If you need to see your climber better, or your neck hurts from the steep cave, simply turn your back to the wall. There is nothing wrong with belaying turned around. There is with standing where he is. Source: 13 years climbing, AMGA certified instructor, and climbing guide for 4 years.

      @@osogeo But don’t stand too close to the wall or you’ll smash your knees or nose against it. There should be time and distance to get your feet up. Just practice lead falls regularly, it’s also great to get rid of the fear of falling.

      Tin Samardžić well, probably consistently flashing V4’s at a range of gyms and then 50/50 on V5’s. Trying to avoid too many heavy crimpy routes as they’re not great for the noob fingers. Check out videos dude as we’ve got loads of problems featured in those.

      Bouldering Noobs oh wow thats awesome, I'm currently climbing V3 but I only recently started going to the gym more regularly because for the first 2-3 months I've been learning trad climbing tehniques but I hope I can progress as fast as you did

    • @boulderingnoobs8279
      @boulderingnoobs8279 6 лет назад

      Tin Samardžić ah you will! We’ve only been bouldering a lot and is done quite a lot of gym work beforehand so the upper body strength was there. I just don’t have the finger strength yet. We’ve probably been over doing it a bit as we’re picking up injuries but starting doing a lot more stretching and yoga everyday and that is helping.

    • @Tincek66

    If you can keep this editing style, add in a few more snappy cuts and fun transitions, your channel will sky rocket. Also idk how tricky it is mounting a camera to yourself while climbing but a 360 camera would make for some really creative shots for the vlog.

    For someone who hasn't climbed in 15 years, Olav is really impressive! Is he into other sports? He looks fit. Maybe not as fit as Magnus and Hannah, but definitely more fit than the general population. Lol

    What are you having your brother do for a training program? Just wondering cause I just started climbing about 6 months ago, the hardest boulder problems I can do are V4/6c+, and I am about similar size and fitness as your brother. I think it would be cool to try to do my own sort of progression as well.

    Things I loved about this vlog
    1 you have so many hard routes in the gym.
    2 your brother weighs 80kg and falls on 6b+ and you still love him.
    How'd you and Hannah stay with climbing but he stopped?
    We need a vlog with all 3 of you in it.

    Magnus, thank you so much for this video. And thank your brother too. I follow your vlogs, and Erik's. But they concentrate mainly on people of a level 7 + standard. I have only been climbing for a month. I'm 5b, and it's easy to get frustrated when watching your videos because you guys are so good. But now I can watch your brother progress, and it can motivate me.
    Tell him to keep confident, motivated and disciplined, because people like me need people like him on videos.

    Great video
    I liked the unedited route climbing, both with and without voice over. I think speeding up the footage in the more tedious parts is a good compromise between showing everything and keeping it interesting, and it was really well done.
    On the topic of route climbing, if you plan on doing more "climbing tutorials", it would be cool to see one on resting/recovering and/or pump management and overall strategy for longer routes. There aren't many videos on youtube about this, so it would be cool to see what one of the best has to say on the subject!

    Hi Magnus. Awesome vlog, keep up the good work :D Could you do a video on how to avoid injuries with climbing ? I mean intense climbing over many years, just like you :)

    Would be nice if you would like keep us up to date what your brother did in a training/what kind of training/some kind of cario/what he did on the beginning to avoid injuries , so we can train with him and measure our progress.
