I really like the contrast between your styles, Magnus uses his power explosively and Hannah seems smoother. I think Hannah is more economical with her energy almost like she is calming the boulder, whereas Magnus sort of beats it into submission. Love it when you two climb together.
I love the way magnus climbs. I'm a relatively new climber (1 year or so), and my strength really helps me climb better than I really am, but I've felt discouraged to kinda just push through movements because it's not very aesthetic. So to watch a pro like Magnus 'ugly climb' is very encouraging.
I'm too a physiotherapist! cool to know Hannah is too. Magnus to answer your question about why a pull up with added 70kg is harder than 1 arm pull ups with only your body weight, the muscles required to do a 2 hand pull up is different to a 1 arm pull up. When you do a 1 arm pull up you require very strong scapular stabilising muscles, most people actually have the power in the rotator cuffs and latissimus to do a 1 arm pull but not the strength to stabilise their scapular. Now doing a pull up with additional 70kg would require significantly more pulling power, also the weight hangs off your hips which also limits your ability to bring up your hips up during pulling, this makes pull ups much harder because you are more upright. For example pull ups when your bring your chin over the bar is easier than the bar being behind your head.
In one Arm pull Up you get help a lot from your forearm muscle and bicep muscle. In regular pull Up due to fixed arm Position way more less Help from forearm. The Initial kip in the dead hang from the one Arm pull Up Take away 1/3 from your Body weight and decrease to Zero until forehead reach the bar. In the weighted pull up(2xbodyweight) its hard to kip such much weight, but its possible to train to kip much weight on your hip without the Look of cross fit Kipling.
Yay! Maybe you can help me with my problem: my right should hurts when I do pull-ups or pushups. It hurts at the bump where the collar bone connects to the shoulder. What do I do to fix this issue so I can continue to exercise???

24:11 one arm pullup (OAP) allows you to activate some additional muscles groups that are inaccessible during 2AP, specifically upper chest (pec minor). in OAP you are free to rotate around the pulling arm, so pec minor becomes heavily involved to help pull the opposite shoulder towards the pulling arm. in 2AP there is no possibility for this motion so instead most the work pulling up is isolated to the wings (lat dorsi) and shoulders (post deltoids) with almost no help from pecs. TLDR, one arm pullup capability is more than half of your two arm capability because of additional degree of freedom in OAP allowing at least one additional major muscle group to assist the pull.

It's so nice that yall got to do this as a family when yall were younger. You should do more videos with her!
I don’t climb so can’t appreciate how difficult it is until I saw Magnus doing incredibly difficult stuff in the gym! Great work.
I just got word I'm moving to an apartment like 200 meters from the gym in mid March so let me know when you shoot b-roll sometime and I'll wave or something
"Hey internet" Hahah I live right by too I just haven't had time to visit the centre yet
You definitely chose a good place to live if you like climbing
@@radiostation6366 Totally intentional :D
Damn the vikings genetics are not only magnus's property
Vikings dont climb, vikings make victimbs climb to temporary safety

Her flash on the 7b+ at the beginning was amazing
i know they have been doing this years but these guys are real strong to do this kind of thing. i enjoy watching them and when he does it out in the world for real
Magnus, you're my favorite climbing channel hands down. That's all I wanted to say
Happy New Year to the Mitbo family!! Hopefully we will see Olav back in your vlogs as well!! And Cecile!!!! Miss that ray of sunshine. Which shoes does your sister wear? I couldn't quite tell :)
They looked like a pair of Dragas to me but don't take my word for it.
This one climbed it's way near the top of my favorite Magnus videos, and that's a competitive list. Cool to see the editing, music, and style of his videos throughout the years.
Also, his sister is super intriguing to watch. Modest, graceful, and intimidatingly strong. She also has a certain gravitas to her. Must be a Midtbø thing.
You're both so strong!! Such inspirations the both of you
Would love to see a video where you rank different training gear. As someone who doesn't own part of a climbing gym (which is amazing btw), would love to know how to get stronger at home. Great vlog also.
Magnus encourages me to be a more healthy person. Always inspiring.
Keep it up Magnus! Really psyched for your following videos!
Your sister is soooo strong. Really beautiful to see. She has great climbing style
You guys are the best siblings EVERrrrr! 😍🤍
Holy crap, after seeing his sister, I can't see Magnus the same way anymore!!! *gouges own eyes*
I love it when you begin about slabs and you already dislike it. Slabs are the best man, little power, 100% technique!
Wow, your sister is like a super strong Viking woman! I guess the climbing gene runs in the family and Viking blood runs in most Norwegians.
"To be honest, I don't care"
Magnus she destroyed your whole channel concept with this sentence hahaha
Personality = Same
Looks = Same
Conclusion: it's the same magnus with make-ups :|
Magnus with lipstick?
This comment is gold!!
Lol, she doesn't look manly at all. They're both just maddeningly beautiful people. It makes me hate myself!
Csquared - Yikes
His sister is preferable though.
His eyeliner is on point... mesmerizing eyes 😳
