Watching this video you understand why Adam is who he is today in the climbing world, besides being very nice and humble, the guy is OBSESSED with climbing, every second of his life is about this same subject. You notice that when Magnus brings a question that excludes climbing, Adam doesn’t know how to answer, because he only has that (climbing) in his head. Really Adam is one in a million. Congratulations to Adam and Magnus for the excellent video.

tbh when you think about it most climbers say that 6a is already hard and thats why even ondra wouldnt risk free soloing anything over 6a. It means he isnt 100% sure he can climb any 6a+ without falling basically
@@telkmx I honestly dont think that has anything to do with it. Also what do you mean hard? I dont think most climbers think 6a is hard. But it can defenitely be hard in certain context.
@@janmarecek8473 6a is already hard. It just a saying to say that climbing start to be difficult and technical at early levels and need commitment. Tons of high level climbers says it look it up
Cool to see you guys at the hangar in Brno. I was there for the first time yesterday (I live near Jihlava) and it was a bit smaller than I expected, but the route setting was awesome! I only got up to 6c but I had an absolute blast. The staff was really friendly too.
I was waiting for- 1. Some kid to reach the top and get into shot before being pushed off. 2. A member of staff kicking them out for sitting on the boulder in outside footwear.
Hear that Alex Honnold (and the like), if the great Ondra both said that he fell off a 6b+ and anything over a 6b+ (approx) is too dangerous to free solo, you're pushing your luck son...
Best advice for new climbers? "but maybe if you're climbing 8B, 8C that's not the best advice" yeah new climbers could be climbing 8B, 8C, we're not sure what level new climbers climb exactly
At one point Adam ondra was the best comp climber ever. He’s been passed by janjas domination and how the sport has kind of changed. He also at one point was the greatest outdoor climber as well but again other people have caught up or surpassed as they have Smokey focused outdoors.
I think he was thinking of like academic, athletic or business type achievements, which considering Adam has been obsessed with climbing from such a young age, it didn't surprise me he was a bit stumped.
we dont have articles in czech so if we don't drill it it's quite difficult to know which one to use or if to use one at all. In this case he wasn't calling music "the music" XD I am almost 100% sure.
Looks like Adam is not so much optimistic about Ghisolfi progress. Hopefully Stefano will send Silence this year. I really hope Adam is wrong and we'll not have to wait two years. On the other hand it is nice to see Adam talking about Excalibur. At that level a route needs to really fit your style. If it does not, you might not be able to send it. Meanwhile DNA will not be repeated any soon, I am confident B.I.G. will be repeated this or the next year, and most likely downgraded by Seb.
Lol at the video on Magnus' channel everyone was commenting on how stonefaced Adam was, but he's clearly more animated than Magnus in this video. We might be reading in too much from single vids XD
The course looks amazing! I wish I could participate, but money-wise and time-wise, it's really not a good period for me. I'll still think about it! Do you plan on having a second enrollment session? I see enrollment closes in 9 days.
I would really like to know how the fear of falling can be improved. I am climbing lead since 3 months now and the fear of falling sets me really back. I would even say one whole grade from my limit. Already did some fall training but not consistent. Have the feel it doesnt get any better.
For me it was just when I was more confident on the climbs, I was scared of falling until I was climbing around 7a so it might come overtime if you don’t try to overcome the fear
Consistency seems to be what you need to really progress. And if you really get anxious on the wall, you cannot push it too far too quickly or you'll just set yourself back. You need to take your time and really learn to trust the equipment and your belayer. If you aim to be climbing for many years to come, 3 months is basically no time at all, you have barely started! So try to look at the big picture and not get demoralized if things don't work out immediately. Climbing is so good because it really challenges you to grow in multiple ways, and if you put in the work, you will see the rewards. Good luck!
Gently overhung climbs that are well bolted, ie - safe falls and lots of them. Start with small falls and gentle progression. Nothing like a big scary whipper to set you back. Ideally, unintentional falls - intentional falls feel way scarier to me than unintentional falls. Analyze the fall potential, make sure it's safe (rational vs irrational fear), then just focus on the movement and try hard. Belayer you trust that isn't going to give you unnecessarily hard catches is key. Been climbing ~4 years but fear of falling is still a struggle, particularly early in the season. It's there for the pros too, just to varying degrees.
Adam says he wasn't even good in P.E class.. Interesting how people could be so athletically gifted at one thing but not another. My friend for example is a great tennis player but his lateral movement on the Basketball court absolutely sucks for some reason haha. Everyone is great at something, just have to discover what it is..
He doesn’t seem to have any other interests than climbing. That’s how you become the best, I guess. I’m not the best at anything and I love so many things. I guess this is why.

Adam's interview skills are soooo much better than they used to be. Thanks Magnus for being a good host!
Wow, 3 entire channels to watch some Magnus content on!! I feel so honoured!! 🥳
Indeed!
I'm psyched he's going to try some V17 boulders! Great interview!
I could watch Adam getting interviewed all day long, he is such a good vibe
Adam's laugh is so infectious. I'm so happy with all this extra content now that these world class climbers have retired from competition climbing.
Adam hasn't retired
And Magnus is coming out of retirement lol
He seems so genuinely excited for what he does. Something we should maybe all focus a little more on, instead of thinking about grades, gear, etc.
love the interview style! super casual sitting on the boulder wall, great filmmaking
13:05 Magnus was hoping it was him 😢😂
Magnus:
I could listen to Adam all day, I’ve already listened to his struggle podcast twice.
