Thanks for posting the video. I'm about a year late, but just got my Blackstone grill & was looking for seasoning & start up tips. Love your first meal with the sausage, potatoes, & veggies. I do love polish sausage & do a lot of sausage mix with hashbrowns & tri-colored peppers in the fry pan. I'm sure the Blackstone is going to be a game changer for me. By the way, I also love your back yard. You've inspired me to get to work on mine.
I've done a couple hundred meals on that Blackstone since doing that video. Really perfect for two people. Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this wonderful video!!! My parents got us one this past Christmas as they know we do a lot of camping. I live in Upstate NY so camping will be starting in about 2 weeks and our weather just got warm enough where I feel like finally seasoning it. You really helped when you showed the bottle and how much you got out of it, it's been something I've been dying to know. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of having a bigger tank. It's me, the wife, and a 7yo in a Ford Escape with all our camping gear. So this is gonna be about on par with our Coleman Camping Grill for usage. Makes me really excited. Thanks again!!!
Our first griddle was not a Blackstone and had only one flame bar that went edge to edge across the mid-line. Seasoning it showed the limited area that actually heated up enough to cook anything since those corners you showed in the one I had were all around the edges. We bought a 22 with 2 burners and it is nice to see the 17 works so nicely.
I love our 17 inch, we bring it on the road with us and its easy to set up and break down. If I was purchasing one for home, I would definatly go with the 22 or bigger. Thanks for watching. Enjoy!
What did I do without this for so long?2 pieces of French Toast at a time ?20 minutes for 10 pancakes ?NO MOREthis griddle is awesomeTook some time to season before first use ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHM5jmQoi4dbb0hoWSBs9hPhSwXUbGVG_ did brunch and hibachi dinner on Mother’s Day and it worked like a charmSturdy, well built and heats up quick. burners2-4 were a little stubborn but then lit up.Great addition to my patio.Bought the cover and it’s great, also bought the accessories kit - scraper is good but the spatulas are flimsy to be honest that’s my only negative.
I was hell-bent on getting the 22 inch 2 burner until I saw the 17 inch in person. The 17 is bigger than I was expecting and It’s the perfect size. I also found the two burner to be a little too heavy and cumbersome to move around. Great video… Thanks for sharing 😎👍
Good job. I'm looking at purchasing and I like when reviewers mention some of the little not so thought of things like the hole in the back and how the propane canister lasted on high. Thank you.
Avocado oil seems to be the best for these for seasoning, water on hot grill after cook and scrape, then re coat with light coat oil perfection each time
Great nice video sir, I just bought one today the wife told me that it's going to be my job to do the cooking, lol, I said sure can't wait to try it out we also are going on our camping trip Tuesday, that food is looking good. Now I must have the older one I guess because my hole for the grease is in the front.
I would reccomend disconnecting the lid from the griddle, and then seasoning the griddle in the oven like you would a cast iron skillet. That way you get a nice and even seasoning across the entire surface.
We purchased the same size Blackstone griddle for the same reasons you did. We had the 22" size griddle with the lid and base stand, but it was WAY too heavy and took up too much room in the basement of our Fifth Wheel RV. I just finished seasoning it and did the normal seasoning layer 4 times, but on the fifth time, I moved the cooktop forward about 1.5 inches so that the back portion got a little seasoning too. That amount of food was just right if you want to have leftovers for a meal or two. Once you start using both spatulas you will discover that you lose less food out of the grease slot. Having the slot at the back is also much nicer over time as it keeps the drained grease away from your food work area and you are less likely to accidentally bump then spill it like you would if it was up front.
You might not want to use regular paper towels. They pull a lot of lint down. I use an old cotton t shirt cut in squares or blue shop towels. We love our 17”.
I'm on a road trip right now and have been connecting directly to the trailer via a hose. I'd guess if you add 6 to 8 inches to the width of the Blackstone, you'd be pretty close. Good luck!
I love it. We use it almost everyday while traveling in the 5th wheel (120 days this year). If it wasn't for the extra weight, I would prefer the two burner model (two cooking zones). Cooking for two people though, I really can't complain. I was having trouble getting it hot enough in windy conditions. My wife bought me some magnetic wind blockers that were made for this grill, that made a huge improvement. It's a breakfast making beast!😁
Dont throw away those little 1lb tanks, you can buy an adaptor from Harbor Frieght and use your larger 20lb tank to refill and reusee them to be more portable.
@masterofnothing3277 Yeah, I didn't get a chance to come back later but the video was great, no nonsense at all. And your yard... It's just beautiful! You guys really set yourselves up for success.
It's an exercise in patience! Lol. I like to let mine cool all the way down to about 130f, especially with a glaze firing. I'd say at least 18 hours from the time the kiln reaches temperature and shuts down. That's with the 3 inch firebrick. I glaze fire at cone 6 with about a 5 minute hold. Hope that helps! And good luck!
Will be heading north, Washington, Idaho, Montana etc. through the summer. Hoping to get down to your part of the world when temperatures start dropping.
Now that you've had it for 3 years, what do you think of the lid? I am ready to pick up one of these 17" gridles for our camping trips. I can't decide if I should get the lid or not. Anybody have any input on this?? I am planning on getting the Carry Bag for it. Does the gridle fit in the Carry Bag with the lid? If I go without the lid, is the cover (that comes with the Carry Bag) sufficient? Thanks! ( I love this recipe. So simple. It will be a camping staple for us!)
I like the lid for two reasons, 1. It helps keep the heat so that veggies, etc. soften quicker, and 2. It keeps it clean when not in use (leaves, bird droppings, etc. I also have a 'bag' made from heavy material that a friend sewed for me, i use that while traveling. I love the 17" Blackstone, for my wife and I, it's perfect!
After last oil cure add about 1oz of limes or lemons with about 12oz of water mixed add to griddle at hot temp and scrape clean, collect all in dispenser. I believe you can buy a addaptorr to add bigger size propane tank.
Best review, no nonsense, showing exactly what it is used for and a perfect demo. Pro accounts need to learn from you 💪
Glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you very much for the kind words! I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Love the backyard, looks great. Good review as well.
Nice job on this video! We appreciate the detail of information.Ordering one now! :)

Awesome! I've used mine at least a hundred times since making that video. I love it. Enjoy! And thanks for watching.

Enjoy! We've taken it on two long multimonth trips and it worked perfectly. I've cooked at least 100 meals on that griddle!
Awesome video!! very well explained step by step thanks!!
you are like bob ross in this video painting that grill! lol
A real artist! lol. Thanks for watching!
@@masterofnothing3277 absolutely great job!!
Beautiful yard!!! I just got the 17” as a replacement for our old camp bbq! Can’t wait to try it! Thanks for explaining the seasoning:)
Thank you! I think you'll love the griddle. Enjoy!!

But very little. 😁
Look like your in highland California my back yard looks just like yours 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Near Sacramento. Congrats on the nice backyard!😁
Very helpful, thanks!

Agreed. My bro in law has the 22 inch. Nice for home use, but way too heavy to travel with. Thanks for watching!
Good job. I'm looking at purchasing and I like when reviewers mention some of the little not so thought of things like the hole in the back and how the propane canister lasted on high. Thank you.
They have an adapter for 15 bucks so you can just hook up a full size tank, I'd recommend this option if you're worried about fuel.
I keep this in my camper so I have the quick connect adapter. Enjoy!

I seasoned mine in an oven so I got a solid coat
I love when RUclipsrs aren't catering to the TikTok trends. Just state the facts, right?
Yea. I'm just trying to give information. Not a Blackatone salesman! 😁 Thanks for watching, and Merry Christmas!

Looks good!😋
pretty Garden!!
Thank you!😁
About time you post a new video!!!!
Highly recommended video request: BRISKET! 😋
I'll see what I can do about that request!😁
Great video! Would you happen to know what the overall width is with the bottle attached? Im wondering if this will fit in the space I have. Thanks

Nice review. I would like to know what you think about this griddle post 3 yrs of your ownership.

@ Thanks for your reply and Happy Travels!
Great video. I have a question about the lid. where did you get the lid? I have searched and only see lids for front grease tray.
Mine came with the lid. I think I got it at Walmart! Lol. I've not seen the lid sold separately, might find it online though.
thank you. I will look@@masterofnothing3277
Looks like my Backyard eastcounty Sd

Seasoning starts at 3:50
Idk why it says it starts later
I'll check it out. Must be some kind of automatic yourube function. I don't think it's anything that I set up. Hope you enjoyed the video!
@masterofnothing3277
Yeah, I didn't get a chance to come back later but the video was great, no nonsense at all.

It's just beautiful!
You guys really set yourselves up for success.
You should mention washing the griddle with soap and water before seasoning to remove oils and shipping residue.
Too late! Lol. We survived and the griddle working perfectly. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for posting. I’m looking I to purchasing one myself. How long does it take to cool completely down?

Lookin good Mr. Friddle! I might need to check out one of those Blackstones. Where are your adventures taking you?

Great, thanks for the info. Just two of us these days, so this will be perfect.
You sir, have the boujie griddle with the lid.. Hard to find
Where did you buy the one with the lid attached? I have seen man that you have to buy the lid separate and it's a removable lid
Home hardware in Canada had them
Just found mine on Amazon for $181. After taxes.
With the hood.
Just bought one from Tractor Supply with hood for $129 (Sept. 2023).
Kohls $100 12/23

We take it with us camping. Our trailer has a propane quick connect so I bought a 15 ft hose. I use the heck out if this thing!
Do you cool griddle between each oiling?
No. Keep it on 'hi' until seasoning complete. Enjoy!
Like the grill but not non stick coating but they dont maka a 17 no coating
Mine didn't come with a lid smh
Yea, they make them both ways. Mine sits outside a lot when we camp, I'm glad for the lid.
Can't even find one now with a hood.
Got lucky. Found this at Lowe's for $99
Check Walmart
It takes more than 5 minutes to set up
Very helpful, thanks!
