Best Blackstone seasoning video I have seen. I seasoned my 17" Adventure Ready griddle with olive oil as he shows in the video putting the top in the oven at 450 degrees, doing the 3 steps and the end result looked like it was done at a factory. It does make your house smell a little scorchy for a day. Delaney did an awesome job with the video and was very clear and easy to follow. A+++
Great video. I had already seasoned ours outside. You are right it is spotty. So after watching yours, I seasoned again in the oven upside down. Now it is finished. We love it so far. Can't wait to use it camping.

Wait... You can use this INSIDE your camper?? That would be GREAT (crack a window... gas fumes) Thank you so much for sharing this GREAT (tiny) Griddle... NOW I want one outside and the tiny one inside... So Happy I found your video
I watch this video twice. Just finished seasoning my 17-in Adventure Blackstone griddle. Did it exactly the way you described in the video. Looks great and was very easy! I had put it off thinking it was going to be a hassle. Thank you for making it so easy. thank goodness it was cool enough to open the windows! Ha! Now to use it this weekend camping!
Just a tip for seasoning things. I seasoned my 22" Blackstone inside my large Weber grill. My Weber will get hot enough and it allowed me to season the top, sides and bottom of the griddle. No real hot spots from the Blackstone burners just a nice consistent seasoning across the whole thing. I've used this method for several items that need seasoning with great results. Stay safe!
Quickly saw the Blackstone on another RV channel so I searched it up and saw your video. Just wanted to say thanks for the review as was very helpful. Will be putting it on the list.
I just seasoned my 17" Adventure series Blackstone the way you prescribed and it turned out amazing. Much better than my 28" I did the standard way. Seriously impressed. Thank you. Subbed.
I got one of these on your recommendation and now after the end of the summer I must say I love it. Two observations: the case is a must to carry it. It can be a beast without it. I also pack it in my truck bed easier to reach and grab. Also I love the grill because no pots and pans. I’ve set a backpacking teapot on it for hot water. Thanks for the review.
The unboxing was very detailed and informative. Almost all my questions were answered by watching this video. The only thing I would add is that you can disconnect the gas tank apparatus from the unit itself after using and it will be safe. It will not leak gas because of a spring loaded feature built in to the nozzle. Top notch video Delaney!
Great video - You'll love the blackstone! I had a 22" for about a year, and just replaced it with the 36". Grills are still nice, but I cook 80% of my stuff on the griddle now! Subbed!
Well done video, very clear and thorough. I have a 17" Blackstone arriving today and will actually have to do my seasoning at the campground. Looking forward to having not only burgers and dogs, but now bacon, pancakes, and eggs, all cooked outside without smoking out our camper.
Nice unboxing video. Just bought a new 17 from Camping World and it was the original design with grease drawer in front. Took it camping last month and I couldn't get the grease to fall into the drawer due to some alignment issues out of the box. I returned it but did enjoy the 2 meals I cooked. I think this one with external drip pan in the back is the way to go. Thanks
Great review Patrick! I did not realize there was a newer model with the grease trap in the back. I almost bought the older model by mistake. Thanks so much for sharing! 👍😎
I would love to see a follow up video at the end of your camping season on how well you enjoyed the Blackstone grill. I would also like your thoughts on the Blackstone vs the Coleman after having used them both. Thanks for all you do!
You are probably getting the measure of my humour by now and so I am so cak handed. By the time I got one of these things together, my holiday would be over!!! 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Debated switching to one of these myself, but the Coleman Fold n Go works so well for us and it takes up less storage space. Only 2 of us. We have an electric griddle we use when we need to cook two things at once.
Oh man!! Thanks for doing the due diligence in researching RUclips videos so I don't have to, lol! Very thorough unboxing/ seasoning tutorial Patrick, looks like a dream!...there's no way I'm gonna let Chris see this tho. 😂🤣😂 Safe travels and see you #ondowntheroad (at breakfast! 😉) ~💜
Not cast iron, rolled steel. Nice video. Weber uses ceramic coating on their griddles but food sticks it seems. May get one of these to have dedicated griddle for my outdoor cooking.
Thank you for this. I'm new to outdoor griddles, especially the propane kind. Just bought one of these from Walmart yesterday and am anxious to use what you have taught me. I do think I like Steve's (below) idea of seasoning t determine hot spots. Again thinks for your detailed, visually clear video.

Flaxseed oil does the best job for seasoning the griddle! And cooking with it keeps your griddle top black and slick, and cleanup is a breeze. I use flaxseed oil on my 22” Blackstone and the griddle top on it is as slick as glass.

We’ve got the original 17” model. Like you we were limited to what size would fit through the camper’s storage bay. I like the grease catch being in the back on these new models rather then scraping grease toward the user. If you ever find the spark igniter isn’t working check the distance from the wire to the flame tube. Per Blackstone it should be between 1/8 and 1/4”.
I just bought one and it is slightly different. There are “nuts” packaged and attached to the feet . No longer is there a threaded insert for the feet. You can also remove the grills flame control knob and store it inside as well for a smaller footprint for storage. For seasoning I used the three step, three temp method also in the oven. Oh, and before seasoning I sanded my griddle surface to make it very smooth and flat.
Going on a year now and only thing is the print on the front washes off. I have used it dozens of times now at the ski resort, disc golf course, and friends house. I use a plastic folding table and I have a BS soft case for it. Tip: turn the knob slowly so the gas fills the tubes before spark hits.
We have watched 2 of your videos and will be purchasing a 17" tabletop Blackstone very soon. The only question I have at this point is whether I should get the hood. What's your advice ?

Thanks for that. I’m just done unboxing mine after a little kitchen fire. The Blackstone came out of the fire cosmetically marred but functionally intact. However the instructions burned up, so I needed to see how it went together and what I was supposed to do! (BTW, Owen of Van Trekking Lifestyle, who is a Blackstone evangelist, uses avocado oil. Apparently it has a higher smoking point than olive oil.)
What did you do at the end of the video? Did you coat it with another light layer of oil after cleaning it before putting it away to keep the steel fresh for as long as possible?
Great video! Thank you! I have two questions....never seasoned cast iron or rolled steel with olive oil - is that recommended from Blackstone? Is there an advantage over other traditional cooking oils? Second, have you cooked a steak on it and if so, how does it taste? I have a Coleman fold-n-go and just love how it cooks a steak...wondering about a steak on a griddle? Burgers and Dogs? Shish-Ka-Bob? Thank you!

You save the expensive propane by seasoning in the oven. But close the oven door each time between seasonings.

Thank you!
This is on sale for $80 at Walmart should I grab it? Seems perfect size for my wife and I
That is a great price! We love ours after 3 years.
Do you recommend a hood and would that plus a hood continue to fit the carry bag?
We just have one of those portable domes we put pver food that we want to steam. a full grill hood would not fit in our case. they might make a special case for those units
