how did it the transmission shift in 4 low ?? have heard alot of people having issues with terminator and VSS sensor in 4l60 and 4l80... i want to use the holley system in my swap, but worry about the 4 low shifting
@@jamesmoss9040 as long as the speed sensor for trans is before the tcase then 4 low shift points are the exact same rpm as 2wd, the issue is when you have the vss in the tcase for the ecm
Please do an update on heat and how the 4L60 is going… I first ran my 5.3 with Jeep and Chevy computers and an NV3550 But later swapped to 4L60 and that just wrecked me the 4L60 doesn’t like heat and the heat coming into the cabin was just awful…. How’d you guys solve this if you did have to deal with it… I’m running a gryphon 3 row aluminum
6 years later. Kidding. The fact that you guys did it by yourself is worth more than anything. Anyone can pay a shop to do it and film it.. It takes passion and actual skill to do what you two do. Kudos to the real future of Jeepers
sounds amazing Cassie . All your and Bens hard work is definitely paying off . Holley products are amazing and have come along way over the years . Take care guys and catch you on your next video .
Wow that's a lot of work. I swapped a used mopar A4 into my cj3. Only need engine, engine mounts and trans mounting plate. 375+ hp and 2330 lbs same power to weight ratio as a hellcat. It almost beats a hellcat in the quarter mile. It will run e85, race gas, nitro, nos, and up to 4 turbos.
With all the positive and negative wires, i recommend you get positive and negative bus bars to have them all go to one location. It will be a cleaner look and leave a couple spots for future upgrades
It’s cool if you want something cheaper drop a stroker with air intake and muffler delete sounds just as good and no gremlins with all the street dog wiring.
Seems like a lot of work.... :) I've decided to toss my 4.6 stroker and ax15 in favor of the same set up as you and am using your build as my exact build.. You better of done it right!!! lol.. This video has me shaking in my pants though. I HATE wires.
Passenger rear wheel looked a little loose when you raised it up. Might wanna double check it. Might be nothing, but then again could be major. Better safe than sorry. Awesome rig btw, sounds great
I didn’t realize you guys moved to okc! I’m just west of Tulsa, you and Ben need to show me how it’s done after I get my swap done lol. I’m putting a 5.3 in an XJ at the moment.
Hey guys, I was wondering where did you run your trans cooler lines, under the starter along the block or above the header against the body and up the frame rail? In the middle of the swap now in a 02 TJ, using a LQ9 6 liter and a 4L60E from Novak. Alost forgot, you planning to add AC back in at some point? Thanks!
What trans are you running? What gear ratio are your axles? I am starting to collect data on swapping an L84 LT into my LJ. I'm leaning towards a 4L70E trans since the overdrive ratio is close to the 42RLE, and the OAL works with the novak adapter putting the transfer case in the stock location. Here is my problem, im running 5.38 with currie built axles. I dont want to regear!! I had 4.88 , but with the .69 overdrive and I 6 motor it sucked with 35's, so i spent a ton and went currie and 5.38. Do you think going to 37's will be enough to avoid a regear?
I guess I haven't tuned in in a while. I think Ben has shrunk a lot. Great setup and nice work on the install! I don't think anyone can touch Holley terminator for a true capable standalone.
Where's the idle set to? If it's a stock truck engine, you can let it idle at the factory 550~ RPM (GM trucks like to idle lower than other manufacturers)
On which harness? On Holley, 12v when pressing brake. On my old harness the instructions said 12v when brakes aren’t applied, and 0 when they are applied, so we used a Normally closed relay.
@@JeepGearGadgets On the Holley Terminator X Max. And thanks for the insight. I’ve been scratching my head on this one because I couldn’t find anyone else that went into detail about it and the instructions book for this harness doesn’t specify very well as to how to wire up the TCC! Thanks again!! 👍🏻
Yeah the factory ecu sucks…..your gonna love the Holley, plus you can add a supercharger or turbo later on and simply change a couple of calibrations on your handheld and your good…..I have terminator x in both my lsa supercharged nova and vortech centrifugal supercharged c10……so much easier than struggling with a factory ecu and hp tuners ($$&&&$$$???)
Did y’all use the accelerator pedal Holley recommends, or did you use the one that came with the motor? Also, did y’all use a stock map sensor with the Holley wiring?
Did y’all use any special pedal bracket to attach to the firewall? I’m hacking up the ctsv bracket and goin to weld it to the factory tj. Curious if you had a pic of yours?
@@trentdawg2832 yeah I think the ones there having trouble out of is the ones we’re there putting them on old school motors the computers in the throttle body’s are going bad

Did the ls swap on my jeep in 6 weeks. Used the complete drive train out of a 2001 suburban. Made my own harness. Love the power difference
I love it when a plan comes together, nothing like doing all those mods and it fires right up, right on!

That liiks like a good process and setup. Enjoy.
Nice, glad to see some videos on the ls swap!

Hey did you guys run the factory stall converter with the cam??
The travel is very impressive for stock location shocks on a tj
That was so exciting to watch
Nice work did you guys run the gas pedal holley recommended??
And how it looks ?
What would be an estimate on doing a swap on a 98 TJ with a 5.3 ? When all the dust has cleared, what would you think? 8-10k? More, less?

Why not hook up the drive by wire through a switch so you can turn it off when you want to play and have the best of both worlds.
