Kelvin So Kyle Berkshire is the current wld champ and has a RUclips channel where he makes course vlogs. He used to play college golf at a very high level, but fell out of the sport for a few years until he started doing long drive competitions. I think he’s trying to turn pro now

@@KelvinSoFitness there's a lot more than his putting letting him down. Not disputing the potential he has but from 120yards in he is woeful and a long long way off any level of pro standard.
T J I wouldnt really say a long way off. Kyle is probably better than Pete amd Pete is a pro. Kyle usually goes par or under now days.
Jordan Moananu the courses Kyle plays are some hard courses but I wouldn’t say he’s better than Pete

Glad it wasn't just me who thought Joe was 2 up. It's only 4 holes - but 2 under through holes...maybe he should do the quest for the Open right? Especially if there is no Long Drive season.

Me who just improved their driving by not hitting it hard: LETS HIT IT HARD
Hahahah yeah
it's a lesson that takes a while to learn but pays off in real dividends...if you don't try to hit the ball as hard as possible, then you are going to get better contact and have better control of the ball, and that is easily worth the extra 25 yards or so that you MIGHT get if you get lucky and actually hit the ball hard AND straight (or at least in the fairway).
But golf is one of those funny games where you can play like an idiot and shoot in the 120s and lose 10 balls a round for years absolutely sure that what you're doing is smart and the right thing to do, based on maybe 2 or 3 good strokes per round...that you just need to keep practicing so that you can do it right more consistently. It simply is not until you get tired of the bad shots and slow down your swing, focus on stance and contact, and begin to hit balls into play regularly, hit good shots regularly, that you really make progress in golf.
touristguy87 I went from hitting 40% of fairways to 75%. I did gain distance too, I never used driver much before and didn’t know hitting it hard was bad. Still only 11% GIR though :(
@@NineEyeRon try using driver more on the longer par3s. It's often much easier to hit them with a high cut or a rollup than with a long iron.

Long drivers use stiff shafts for competition and x or xxstiff for playing golf. The reason behind this is, the less stiff shafts provide more speed but less accuracy because they flex more.
