XR200R. Still have my 1982. Still kicks but on hard technical trails where speed is slow, rocks are unfriendly, conditions are slick, and my friends are crashing on their 450F’s.
Damn brother this gave me motivation to start my rebuild project on my 1995 xr200r. Also nice feet!👍🏻 The council has given them a solid score of 7/10 firm, very beautiful sir!
I had two of those XR200, for everyday and fun it is just a super reliable little bike! It is known to be one of the best Hondas ever made, code name is KTO.
Looks great. Wish you put tank decals in stock location though. XR's Only built my engine to 210cc and high compression. Felt like a racer, and it actually scared 2 stroke guys because the power was so on and off. Who would think a 210cc could scare 2 stroke riders.
The engine paint is pretty durable, and held up pretty well. I found it easier to deal with just than the original anodizong as touch ups are pretty easy when rare damage occurs.
I have a xr200 1990 wondering how much you spent on repair? I really like my bike but it has some problems always cranks first kick unless cold then maybe 2
The original bike was $400. All the work and parts was another $1000. Having the crank rebuilt, cylinder bored, and a valve job was the lion's share of the cost.
@william sherman the manual is wrong, 87-02 xr200r's came with 17" wheels. If you want the 18" wheels do a search on the thumper talk forums for an xr250r wheel swap. The guys over there know which parts fut what
I rebuilt an 84. It has the RFVC motor with 4 valves, dual carbs, two into one exhaust. I converted it to on/offroad use with Baja Design LED lights and Trailwing DOT approved tires. hondaxr200.blogspot.com/2015/05/1984-honda-xr200r-rebuild.html

zachary watters ...nothin ....just im a big Pantera fan is all...theres a few songs i like from Metallica....but their not my first choice of music.....m.o..
1) Get the oem honda factory service manual for your year of bike. 2) search youtube for dirt bike compression test. Do the test. If it has compression, thats a great start. If not find a good top end rebuild video for your bike. Use the manual above. 3) search RUclips for dirt bike spark check. Do the test. If it has spark, great. If not you will need to dig deeper for your exact year. Use the manual above. 4)clean the carb. Lots of good you tube vids on this. Use your manual to check the settings. This gets the bike "evaluated" and you should have some idea where you stand. Go from there. I also found the "thumper talk" forums to have lots of good threads, and the community is very helpful. Happy fixing!
forgot to ask about your questionable non OSHA compliant foot wear : ) ....and the light questions...as the XR was reaching the end of its production run ...for USA models at least ...make it as cheap as possible Mr Honda said...and the lights were left off and wire harness simplified ps older red frame models a little sturdier
i beg to differ man....the XR' motors are Great and reliable...easy to work on...and a whole lotta fun riding...ive got a 1986 XR200r......I've had it since it was brand new...got it for my sixteenth birthday...ran great then...im 48 now and it still runs great..

need the Pro-Link stickers on the swing-arms
There’s an adjustable chain guide on the left side of the motor with the little black cover
How do painted wheels hold up... won't they quickly chip and flake?
The engine paint is pretty durable, and held up pretty well. I found it easier to deal with just than the original anodizong as touch ups are pretty easy when rare damage occurs.
came here for the video, now i just play it for the song

@@garthsanders Is the rear wheel 18 inches or 17, I bought a used 1988 xr 200 and the rear wheel is 17 inches but the manual says 18?

Did ur bike come with wires for the head light or did u have to buy some
This bike was already wired for lights....... it varies year to year with the XR 200's
Garth Sanders mine is a 2001 and it’s got the headlight on it but no wires

So is the power from the turbos too much or what, I know I am not worthy of such a bike
Hey since you responded to my other comment, I’m doing the exact thing you’re doing with the same bike and have some questions, would you mind?
