Got a lot moved forward on this project since the last update. 1) got the front axle stripped off the Donor Chassis 2) scoured five 46" Michelin XML tires for the build (4 super singles and a spare 3) Made a trip up to dads place to take delivery of a tractor, played with my restored allis D12 (rebuild in my other videos), mowed with a resurrected mower. 4) dropped off the Cab and front clip fr...
1949 Ford F 5 Coleman Project Part Two Donor Truck
Просмотров 6056 месяцев назад
Managed to source a donor truck with the same 6.67 rear end ratio as my Coleman axle with a chassis in really good condition. Young master Justin came with me for the retrieval, he had a good time! Had to pull the wheels, cut all the axle rivets and cut down the chassis to fit it in my garage. I still have enough more than enough length for the 8 box if I can fine one.

In this episode we install the crank. Unfortunately the Go pro conked out and we lost the clearance checks and final torqueing. We ended up at 0.0015 on the rear and 0.002 on the middle and front mains. Very happy with the outcome for clearance! Torqued the main bolts and added torque seal as we finished. Good progress all around!

Garth I have the same lyman feed but I believe the motor is burnt up. You can have it for parts lf you want. All I ask is you pay shipping. If you send me your E mail address I will have my wife send you some pics Creigh
Good afternoon Garth. Great rebuild/refurnish. Having an issue with my '74 CT90. I was wondering if you would help. Green neutral light is not turning on, all other lights work, and I have a new battery, but it won't start anymore as well.
@EnglishBoomOutfitters there is a small light bulb in the insrument cluster. I would check that first. Next i would check the electrical connection on the motor, sometime the contacts wear out. If you dont have an original honda manual, get one! Its well worth the money. For running check fuel and spark. Biggest killer on these bike if gummed up fuel in the carb.
Is your last name brooks?
Secial thanks to Lloyd and Luke for picking up the engine and stabilizing it. Jules, Ryse, and Jack for loading the engine. Jules for moving the engine from washington state to Texas. It was a long ordeal, but its at its new home now!!
Every male family member was involved in moving that engine.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!! Very helpful
@christiancelfo4524 your welcome! Thrilled to see folks making use of this info!

Thankyou for the video
@@blue_death2146 your welcome! I'm glad to see people regularly using this info!!!
Why is that possible the m16 magazine
@@carljoshuasantos1058 I made it work!
I much rather us the Jimmy rig set up my self .
I have pulled 4.0 from 2010 Ford Explorer XLT to replace timing chains and other parts while out. Thanks for the heads up on timing balancer. I did spend some time, (a lot) looking for solution on timing. Your video shows up in Google search readily, not so much on YT. Anyone else who has or is struggling with front cassette coming out you are not alone. The head is offset from the block by an 1/8''. Not every 4.0 has this issue. Bust off the old plastic from cassette and ease out. New cassette will need some TLC going in. A few gentle taps with long screwdriver at pivot collar after it is slid in as far as possible. Overall this job is frustrating. The money saved evens it out.
I don't get it. The 1893 is 7x57, right?
What's the deal with the spokes theres two different sizes available
I had to pull the shift motor. Not a great fix
I have the same bike
No
Hey my friend! How are you doing on that 1949 ford f600 project. Looking for some parts of my 1949 Ford F6 which I have it overseas
I have some parts listed on facebook marketplace in houston. You have someone local?
I have so many questions… Did you convert this to .223? How? Lol… I like the idea of modernizing an antique platform without butchering it.
Its 458 socom and it took alot of work
@@garthsanders Ohh that’s really cool! And I would certainly imagine it did. Did you need to modify the bolt head? Did you need a custom barrel?
@AJCzarkowski bolt head stayed the same, i used the barrel from a ruger number 1 rethearded for a small ring mauser. I did have to remove the feed rails in the receiver to have the magazine fit. Overall it works well.
Looks like that went fairly smoothly.
It was an uneventfull recovery, just how i like em
Who was the vendor???
太棒了
好爸爸
good job
Thanks!
OP works for Mossberg 😂
Good gofer gets 2 sizes adjustable......perfect thinking
Yup, he clvered all possible contingencies
very nice dirtbike!!!For riding in the mud, it's fun!!!!
Nooooo leave Flathead in it. No modern and leave wheels alone. Ya goin ruin it. Whaaaaa. Haha
Do t butcher it.
Keep original.
The steering wheels back then were huge. No power steering made for easier steering.
A d sounds good.
Dawm that truck is in amazing shape.
Cab is excellent condition
Thank you, i was very lucky to get this!
Definitely a good build for father and son
Head looks all pitted. Was it stored at the bottom of the Atlantic?
Lol, 30 years of summer winter cycling did a number for sure!!!!
*Promosm* 😀
What a beautiful old truck,we had one in our family,it was a 1940 commer a former milk delivery truck from Wollongong and next lived in appin ,we called him OLD GEORGE,george was a very faithful old truck,he had hungry boards and we filled the rear tyres with water to carry fire wood
Very cool! I just got the brake booser back from a complete overhaul. Hope to have more stuff of this truck in the future
That's sad a beautiful rifle ruined I have a Spanish mauser I'd never do that
I bought it as a bare action, with mismatched numbers for $60 from sarco.............it likely hasnt been a rifle in 25 plus years. Barrel was a ruger no 1 takeoff, stock was a cracked grade 3 swedish from apex...... this is a great creative use for it. I have never owned a nice untouched military surplus rifle. Far to spendy for a family man...... those days were in the distant past by the time I had aquired the skills to do this work.
Say that's a nice bike.
Where did you purchase this Bren at?
Link in the description
Buck Potter RUclips channel we think it has some potential
This is badass bro good job
I used to be a dihard ford man, but Ford's better ideas are just about the most stupid stuff i have ever seen. I am a Chevy man now.
So cool! I love this. Would like some custom mausers !!
Very nice looking tractor you have. I learned to drive on one this same year and model "D12" . It was used all the time on a Morgan horse ranch. Brings back a lot of good memories. Thanks.
What caliber?
458 SOCOM.......AKA HOG SLAYER
I am in love with your spanish mauser to .45 build. I think the google algo sniffed me out. Ive been thinking about converting this mauser type to 45 raptor or 450 bush( I have a specific hand load in mind), but the action/age of this sample has really caught my eye. I really appreciate your experimental attitude with classic junker components. I love seeing what these old designs can be with a little curiosity and tinkering.
I think you can bore the barrel parts and Sleeve it with liner in the caliber you have.,, nice kit
This guy is clearly an unemployed Texan with a trust fund from a mysterious guy who named him in a will for cleaning his boots.
Did you reweld your own kit or did you send it to someone. I looking for someone to maybe do mine.
Doing it all myself. Should make some more progress over christmas. Its tedious slow work to get it right
