The dropshot has recently proved its value for me. I use only floating plastics now for it because as a bank angler I can’t afford to snag all the time. Plus it allows me to slow down my presentation and really get some bites. Now just need to get the ned rig rolling a little more.
Great info, thanks!
Miles, I find myself watching your videos more and more as they relate to what I do at my lake. As for the drop shot, I usually do drag the worm to make it swim horizontally but, there are times I will actually "stroke" the worm and that draws a reaction bite! Sometimes I end up stroking it because the bait or weight have become hung up but, other times I'm doing it to draw a reaction from curious fish. I'm a firm believer that most times the fish aren't aggressive and you must draw a reaction. I see people catch nothing all day while I'm having success because I'm drawing reactions and they aren't. Good stuff. I look forward to the next one.
Great info. Just learning the drop shot, this video gives a great starting point.
Just started fiddling with a drop shot, and this past Sunday made me a believer.
Fished it over submerged grass and caught them well. Largest was 5.9#.
I’m looking forward to experimenting with it more here in central Florida. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the video. Any other specific drop shot tips for us bank anglers?
Totally agree. For me, it’s about having the confidence to do less. A lot of people make their bait look like it’s having a seizure. That can work, but usually not as good as letting the weight on the bottom impart 90% of the action.
Thanks Miles. ✌️
Don't drag for smallies in goby areas. You want the bait on the rocks so rod tip down low
High sticking is the worst way to fish a drop shot.
You didn’t catch nothing
And underwater footage is where it's at too.
