Friends,
This is a Math video. This is our fourth webisode (WB-4) on "Series 7 -- Triangles".
In this video, we learn "ASA" or "Angle-Side-Angle" congruence rule. We learn when we can say that any two given triangles ABC and PQR (say) are congruent as per ASA congruence rule. Then we prove ASA congruence rule.
We also see that if two triangles are congruent, then their corresponding sides and angles are also equal.
This video is suited for class-9 (Class-IX) or grade-9 kids.
Cheers,

Hi there,
Thanks for your comments. When we are comparing to two sides in two triangles - in this case - AB and PQ - there are only 3 options. AB = PQ, AB > PQ or AB < PQ. As explained, the logic why two triangles are congruent for case-2 is similar to the same for for case-3. Hope that explains. If not, please explain which part needs further explanation.
Cheers,
Amazing explanation, loved it :)
thanq sir its so useful for
Hi Noor,
Glad you liked the video and found it helpful!
Cheers,
Thank you sir very very very much. I was suffering for long time for having this doubt but now I am pretty sure that I can cope up with my fear. Thank you once again.
Great introduction of asa rule❤️❤️❤️
The concept has explained so clearly.

Thankyou so much sir........ tomorrow is my maths exam....... and this helps me a lot..
It help's me alot thanks
Can we use aas property in this ??
I understood the first 2 cases..can you break down the third case a little bit more in an other video?
thank you. you helped me for tomorrow's FA 2 examinations
Hi Shreemayi,
You are very welcome! I am glad you liked the videos and that videos helped you in the exams. Please check out my other videos too as you may find them helpful as well and if you do get a chance, please share your feedback regarding the same. It would be great to get your feedback/comments regarding the same.
Cheers,
does that mean according to case 2 that if two triangles are greater than each other they can be congruent?
Hi Sarvani,
Great question. Thanks for sharing the same! I know that among all the congruency theorem proofs, this one is a little bit different and complex to understand.
By definition, in any two triangles, if all corresponding sides and all corresponding angles are equal, we say those two triangles are congruent (meaning identical).
CASE-2 starts with the assumption that WHAT IF the sides AB and PQ are of different lengths (one greater than the other).
Upon further analysis (and based on what is given), we find out that both triangles PQR and DBC are congruent. Given angle R and angle C are equal, that can only happen if angle DBC coincides with angle ACB i.e. points A and D are SAME point thus negating our basic assumption.
CASE-3 is just opposite of CASE-2. So, conceptually if one understands CASE-2, he/she will easily understand CASE-3.
I know its complicated but hope the explanation helps!

it's a nice explanation i'm math teacher and i wish to teach mathematics in english like you.
Hi Hatem,
Thank you for those very kind words. It means a lot especially when coming from a math teacher. I very much appreciate it. Wish you the best!
Cheers,
Sir it is very good I liked it but sir I have a question that in case 2
f point D is inside triangle ABCD so how come equal
Hi Mahesh, I am glad you liked the video. In Case-2, IF we assume that AB > PQ, for example say AB = 5 units and PQ = 4 units, then we can find a point D on AB such that BD = 4 units i.e. BD = PQ = 4 units. Let me know if this helps clarify your doubt. Cheers,
thank you very much
Sukriya
