I got the same incentive ($200 for 10). I got it easily in 2 days in a small market with one store. Door dash, Instacart and Uber eats are terrible here...so I only do Spark. I find if I miss the main hourly drops I get the express shop/deliver orders and they almost always pay more than curbside pickup orders. And I only have to deliver one order at a time. If the distance isn't very far, sometimes I can do a couple in an hour. Also, I find our store to be most busy around 5 pm or so... people want their stuff delivered when they get home from work.
Where I live, I start at 7am and easily make $200 by 3pm I go home and take an hour break and return to the Walmart closest to my house and take orders until 8pm I do this 5 days a week and really don’t drive too far doing deliveries.. that being said I easily make $275-$300 a day.. plus I kill it with the incentives.
I rarely take an offer for less than 20.00 because you are only getting one offer per hour. Shop and deliver are my favorite.
In my city it's nothing but shop and deliver, and those ppl tip big, bigger than the app pay.
@@LanaDaynewhat city u live in?
Hey Mike!
Hope you're doing well!🎉❤❤
🤔 Great annalysis and tips on this topic and Spark!🎉❤ Stay Safe and may all your shifts be prosperous!🎉❤
Yes - it seems it drops every 15 minutes. I work at the Walmart up north of Pittsburgh and we have a decent amount of Spark drivers. We tell them that they can’t check in until 45. It all depends on staffing - so keep in mind what Walmarts is busy with wait times and pick the best one.
6:10-6:20am they’ll start sending out the first round robin. Most of the time morning are the best. Point pick up, spark and depending if your store uses Uber or roadie will set you up for success.
That pick up wait time is the one thing, that if they did away with it, would be a game changer.
think they do that to try and get drivers to do shop and deliver, impossibility in my city, in my city our walmarts stays empty on the shelves to do that headache
Spark incentives are difficult to get and they do that on purpose because they don't want to pay those incentives.
I get incentives every other day
Yes I agree!! Multi apping is the way to go! With Uber and dash in between Spark I can rack up a lot in a week!! Unbelievable!!!! Plus with the bonus pay with Uber! 🙏🙌 spark alone never reaches my daily goal! It’s surly changing up here too but still so far im staying afloat . Appreciating every day!! .
in my city, it's very spark heavy in the fall and winter while in the summer, it's very doordash heavy, so i'll do spark on week days while doing doordash on the weekend to keep DD activated
Hey Mike,
Thanks for all your advise+
Question for you about spark, have you accepted a order and wait 30 minutes or more only to find out that it had been given to another driver and was delivered? Seems to keep happening to me.
I have 3 Walmarts I circle around. But, I use it when my DD acceptance rate gets really low. Low acceptance means no good orders on DD.
I love Spark, one of my favorite platforms. But absolutely you have to use it in conjunction with other apps
Did you do Spark in San Diego by chance? Because I do it here in South OC myself and have gotten Prop 22 adjustments with those wait times.
Thanks Slim Jim guy this helped!
There is a ton of wait time. I like the shopping orders, seem to pay better.
I check what's in the order before I accept it, I don't really want to carry several of the 49 count water bottles.
On the batch orders, I wish that you could pick the order because they tend to send you from one side of town to the other and it could definitely have been done better.
I work at a Walmart in OGP and yeah y’all can only pick up around 20 minutes before it’s due to get deliver at that time
Here and Jacksonville, Florida, I have waited so long I had to decide to leave because they’re so backed up. Walmart through spark is a terrible hassle for me. I do it on occasion because I’m in the area and I want to take one I pulled up once and other parking slots are full. They had a lot of about seven cars waiting and add simply declined the order and left. I found my wait times are between 15 and 30 minutes at Walmart. Spark is really not a good gig for me. Gig for me.
For us, orders come in between 20 min. after the hour and 35 min. after with pickup at the 45 min. mark. Lately though the offer is coming in an hour ahead. Depends on how far behind OGP is.
You'd have to do nonGMD deliveries only to hit the $200 guaranteed for 10 runs to make it worth it. Not enough work to lean on it fully though. Best to multiapp and I notice sometimes Spark prioritizes you if you are just outside of the check in zone as I've driven away from Walmart and I get bombarded on orders when I'm around the corner. So multiapping is a better strategy.
You are so right about the bundle I did a 16 run bundle for it to count as 1 ridiculous... not the best.
I have 4 walmarts in my zone. It bounces around on being busy. I try to wait for the round robins. Or take the asap once with the one I am close to.
mike they started sending out orders at :25 past the hour recently. no longer at :15
I view the incentives similar to a greyhound race. They dangle that carrot like they do the rabbit in a dog race. They dangle it in front of you to get you to chase it. Keeping it close enough to make you think you have a chance of getting it. However, in the end, you often come up short, but you have put the work in trying to get.
Exactly what happens!
I've long believed these hustles were intentionally designed to exploit the gamer demographic with that proverbial carrot addiction. Even the apps are flagrantly engineered to have a retro video game feel; what with the campy bleeps, pop-up offers and score calculating.
Then there's the incentives like _surge, boost and quest_ that smack of old school cartridge era. Almost like it was all thunk out before millennials were old enough to drive.......
I was at the end of the day and only needed one more trip for the incentive. Only one store of three was lit up, so I went over and waited to see if I could get my last one. I got lucky. I had not had an offer the hour before.
@@MichiganderGirl I have gotten burned twice missing an incentive by one delivery. I don't worry about the incentives anymore. Takes too much time and effort. I haveva reasonable goal without the incentive. If I reach my goal. I'm happy with it even though it's less than I really need. I rather have a goal that is easy to hit in a short amount of time. Rather than one that is difficult to reach and consumes too much time.
I only played a video game once in my life. I have made a game out of telling the app to do better on offers and stop insulting me. 😆
I have only been doing Spark since the second week of September but every time I have an incentive-without a fail…I get a glitch or something happens that makes me contact support which means time taken from doing orders. I swear they do it on purpose.
Spark gets a double win since they got you to do the job, but they don't have to pay the incentive because you fail short of the goal.
They LOVE when you fall short of goal,,,in fact, gig apps count on it
Yeah and it sucks because to even get close. You have to invest in a significant amount of time
Would you give any recommendations to a good car to drive while using these gig apps for a living? What do you think about renting or leasing a car?
Would you say shipt is better? I moved recently and they don’t have shipt in my area now and I miss it like crazy so spark sounds like the closest thing around here
Spark seems to be a ok filler app. You’re on a DD run, Ubereats run, and then a decent Spark order comes up. the DD order fills the waiting time, and with good time management, you land at the Walmart just in time to pull in for your order, OR you’re maybe 5 minutes past the pick up time
The pickups/deliveries are structured like because the customer chooses the delivery window for their delivery.
Multiple reasons for the structure.
Walmart has limited refrigeration space in the delivery area.
Employees shop the orders the hour before and move it to refrigeration/staging area to be brought out to the driver.
They don't want you there early because it hasn't been pulled from the shelf, and they don't want it delivered earlier than the customer request if they aren't home.
While it seems inefficient for the drivers, it's actually a well oiled machine.
You just gotta multiapp for that 20-30 minute wait time for your check in.
30/40 bucks an hour is fairly easy if you understand why it is the way it is and don't fight the machine!!
well, the problem is in my town, they prioritize stock for the delivery drivers over the normal shopping shelves, so the shelves for shop and go is always empty, thinmk that might be the same issue for other locations as well, i think the spark app is going to be walmart's short term solution for when they just do the housing deliveries themselves
That is why the batch orders only count as one order. If they counted each order as a single order. The incentives would be easy to get and they would be paying out millions overall in incentives.
I’m 25 miles north of Atlanta and barge exactly save my towel because I get out of work at four and I used to just jump on Uber or whatever and it doesn’t get busy until 730 8 o’clock so now I that’s for here that’s our busiest time with sparks so I go on spark and I and I do well mannered fact I just picked up a $15 order we’re going 4 miles I pulled them to the store. I had the food in my car within 10 minutes. It was great as it works. Good here I’m almost starting to say I love Spartan a lot of times it’s horrible but but those Uber DoorDash and all the others but love your videos just thought I’d pass along how it is here.
I live 3 miles from Walmart and Sam's and both of them lie right in the middle of a lot of restaurants. So, pretty ideal for multi apping
0:20 H😊i. I understand that the Walmart Spark app. Is only compatible with iPhones. So, I can't use it with an android phone. Any idea if this will ever change? I have been an android user forever and I don't want to change to iPhone just for this app, because there is never even a guarantee for work
We have a saturated market... the way walmart keeps its drivers is that it will prioritize you (endless orders) for a week or 2, but then all of a sudden, you'll never get a single order for the next week or 2... my app glitches so you can accept every order and still the acceptance rate goes down... great for 2nd tear app
Ive made some good money with Spark in Ohio. Granted the wait times are trash as well as having to double check in to make sure they see that you’ve arrived. But i make around $150 on a good day and about $50-$60 on a bad day
It depends on the Walmarts around you. If you have a slow Walmart you get crushed. But if you are near one with enough employees it is smooth and fast
What do you do if all three around you are slow. Asking for a friend 😂 no seriously though I think they are getting better it’s just the mandatory check in windows and commutes back
@YourDriverMike forget about Spark then, or only take the shop and deliver orders. Even if they are slow, you can go at non peek times like 7-9am or 7-9pm at night. There, even the slow employees can load lol. But near me one Walmart works Nascar fast, you can pickup within 10 minutes almost all the time. I have another one that is so bad I asked Spark to block them lol, they wouldn't do it. My acceptance rate is garbage only because of this Walmart, I won't go there no matter what they offer.
@@YourDriverMikeI agree. I’ve been doing it full-time and like you said, there’s a lot of down time as well as driving back to a store. And of course those miles aren’t factored in lol
They need to either factor in the miles to drive back to the store or just start sending us orders right after we drop off. I’ve noticed you have to literally be parked at a store in order to get orders 🤦🏽♂️
I got to Walmart near me. I just signed up for Sparks.
Bottom line. Spark doesn't pay well at all. Lugging around three cases of water or soda and thirty or fourty other items. And that's just the first stop! All for a whopping $8.00. They try and get me to take orders like that all the time. It's not even worth the hassle. Oh and did I mention the wait times. It's a joke.
I have a friend in North Dakota making 650 on a bad week…when she pushes harder, she makes 1k a week! I guess it depends on the area. Either I can’t wait to join and start. $100 daily goal for me
I am also in North Dakota. Maybe in Fargo and Bismark you can get this kind of money. Not from where I'm from in the state. Whish this were the case.@@blessedhighlyfavored9126
Spark is great if you live in the City!! DC is always goingggggg!!! The rich love Walmart but don’t like coming in the store!!! I love spark
I made 65 bucks today in 2 and a half hours. Either just your area or driver error.
is this it's own app or instacart or what? I just quit uber and need to try delivery
If you have a long commute to a W-2 job and there's a Walmart near home or work, it's possible to write off many of those miles. Talk to an accountant, of course.
What online service did you use to alcohol delivery certified
In Cranberry up north of you I do Uber Eats at Walmart and get tons of grocery orders through Uber Eats their contracted grocery app. So you don’t need to do spark you can do both and Walmart automatically up here. I then do not wait on orders I do eats inbetween grocery orders! So you are competing with Uber eats drivers at Walmarts too! Best to just do eats and automatically sign up for grocery on the Apple Pay for cvs and Walgreens that puts you in the que at Walmart 😄 busiest days are Friday and Saturday nights!
Do you do uber eats full time ? Or just a part time
I have 4 Walmarts in a 7 mile radius of me so I might clean up here.
A friend of mine convinced me to start doing spark (I haven’t started yet) and the way he convinced me to join was by showing me his earnings.
It happened to me a few times. Failed short by 1 delivery multiple times. So, I stopped chasing that carrot.
$13.00? Oh nooo spark in DC be like $30 for one trip. I guess it depends on where you stay
Used Spark in the Myrtle Beach market and it’s weird how it works. Most orders, I’d say 80% or so are first come first serve and they literally disappear within a second of appearing. And yes you are correct, orders come in around :20 of the hour and unless it’s a asap pickup you won’t be able to check in until :45 and you better be back in the zone by that :20 mark or you’re gonna miss out on the next round of orders.
How much can u make weekly or by the day
@@314murdacapitall For my particular area, the gig economy is extremely inconsistent and over saturated. I would run Spark, DD and UE and would really have to grind to hit $20 an hour. How much you can make really depends on your market so there’s no way to properly answer your question
I am really trying. Spark is tuff to break out with a good days pay
I just got approved for Spark. Im not sure if itll work out. I dont want to Uber. Door dash is an option i just didnt think it would do well in my area but i might try it. Ugh. I pick up my grocery from Wal-Mart and i usually dont have a wait time. At the rate of this review id be better off doing some seasonal work. I do some other online work and near full time but sometimes i need extra. This app aint looking to hot.
Saturdays seem busy for grocery
mike as a sparker i love your walmart videos because boy does this app piss me off
Are you seeing the same delays? Wait times all over the place?
Do you check "My Zone" to see how busy your area is???
My minimum on spark is usually $20 because either way gonna take me time to shop or wait for the curbside so even if it takes an hour that's $20/hr
I reject anything under 20.00 because we are only going to make that one trip during an hour. Shop and delivers show up pretty regularly and I enjoy getting out of the heat and into the air conditioned store. :)
I drive spark (MD), so today I had to drive to 19 homes for $52, not all the homes were in the area so $30 of the $52 will be going to gas
The shop and deliver orders disappeared I use to get like 3 a day what happened spark ?????
Some people were i live in OK team delivering 2 diferent acc in the same car goshhhh them must be taking alot of orders😢
Walmart wait times (arriving too early) are atrocious. Going to test ubr eats multiapping
did they ever fix the botting issue?
I’ve tried for the last 30 minutes to make an account with two separate emails I have, and it will not work whatsoever. What a joke! 🤦🏻♂️
I only do shop and deliver.
I worked for a Walmart for 10 years of my life that I can never get back so I know the company intimately well. None of this surprises me 😂
I did receiving, ICS and was a cashier during summers inbetween college
I have a question maybe you can help with. The manager at the Walmart store here is telling the employees that if there is another person in the car, she will knock off one of the orders...ie, from 3 to 2. Even if it is an adult such as a husband wife team. Other drivers have been told the same. Is she able to do that?
PS yet I can put 10 orders all in the back of my SUV and that is ok. She said it is because they have to be separated.
All the orders are getting pick up by people that aren't even from my country ! It's getting so bad...
I live in DC and spark it’s literally the best app ever
Some people are just lazy I’m in south Fla making guaaaaaaapppp
How do you organize grocery bags from multiple orders so they don't get mixed up?
Laundry baskets
@@emilywills1116 You are smarter than I.
Spark is really easy for the most part & pretty consistent in my market. I’ve got a TON of Walmarts around me(Long Island NY) & they are always busy.🤑
-
But the caveat is the distance, crowded shopping + travel traffic makes it’s nearly impossible to hit those “incentives” unless you take the smallest orders. The notifications are predatory for sure😂, they know damn well those incentives aren’t worth it or realistic in most markets.
-
My best advice for anyone looking to try spark💡, start learning the layouts of the Walmarts around you or plan to work,(parking, store, entry+exit points, intersections) each is different with varying experiences & expectations❗️
-
Spark is wayyy more “market” based then say food delivery like a DD or UE, people need to eat everywhere. However people’s shopping experiences do vary vastly based off town & neighborhood structure.
-
Definitely worth trying tho, I will say thanks to some customers who have “put me on” to products I didn’t know Walmarts had due to shopping for them😅 hidden gem.
Yep I try to stay away the stack orders since half of the time there isn't no one tipping usually out of 3 ppl orders The customers are starting to act like Instacart customers put tip up then when you drop off take the tip off scamming
Where can I pick up the grocery hooks
Amazon. He has a link for them somewhere.
@@babsblaney Thanks
@@36chamber21 You're welcome
On Uber eats, Walmart is a time sink.
@YourDriverMike You've never taken the time to get to know your WM market whatsoever nor do you have a clue to when orders drop. Also, you've never bothered to figure out when its busy when its not etc etc... you get my point. If you put in 0 effort in figuring it out you get sht results. Its hard to make an honest complete review when your missing information.
Are you kidding me do delivery for an 1 dollar now nottt is crazy
It’s the one order per hour crap that’s what kills it
First of all, you are sitting and waiting at the top of the hour. They don't drop the orders until 20 minutes after the hour.
Secondly, in the app it has a graph of you store's busiest times.
You hate on spark cause you don't know why you are doing
SERIOUSLY????-that's less than minimum wage AND YOU HAVEN'T INCLUDED WEAR AND TEAR ON YOUR CAR
It's gonna be always over 100milez and 100$
Can you make a grand a week doing spark?
No
😇🙏
They need to sell it back to uber
All the orders are stacked - only worth it during the holidays incentives are a sham
After I finished the two singles they went back to 7ish stop runs
Your Walmart sucks then my zone is usually hoppin so I would put a disclaimer ‘zone specific’.
Always market dependent yes. You don’t have problems with the mandatory check in times aka you have to wait?
@YourDriverMike nope because I'm usually doing a shopping orders. If I happen to take a curbside I wait maybe 5 mins at the :45 of the hour. I would multi app though before the :45 if possible. The thing is the though my standards for a curbside are high so I usually just wait for the :45.
With that hair style you don’t look humble I promise you that!
Wait times horrible
Comment down below
Comment down below lol
If you start with that negativity you won't make any money. The apps definitely are listening.
Like a plant 😅
You actually get 2 days to do the insensitive
Spark started out great and then it became walmart level. Extra scammy . Stay away unless you want to make Walmart money
Its trash and they dont give money
You're not getting the bonus! LOL! In my area it's less than a dollar/mile.......30 miles, 16 stops $14.75! LOL
Anything good is gone as soon as your eyeballs catch a glimpse of the offer.
Even if you get an offer of 4 miles......that's really 8 miles! because you have to drive back!
It's like going to the Casino hoping, you hit the jackpot!
Not worth it at all. In the time it takes to shop and deliver for $10......I could have easily made that doing Doordash, Ubereats, Grubhub etc!
People have no idea, how far 30 miles is! You're just pissing money out the window and running your car into the ground, doing these high mileage bullshit orders.
