HEY I GOT THE DIRT ON HOW SPARK REALLY WORKS. LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN MAKIN A VID ABOUT IT. I'LL SEND YOU ALL THE EVIDENCE.
In my market the majority of orders are released at :20 past each hour and are not allowed to be picked up until :45 past the hour. I called and asked why and they explained that it's desgned to give drivers time to get to the store in time for pick up.
Even the ones marked ASAP are not always ready for pick up. They, too have a 25 min wait time. When I look at dollars to miles I double the miles because I count having to get back to the store for the next order. I wont accept anything less than $2/miles. Also, most orders take a full hour to complete (this includes the wait time for pick up-drop off, but not including the drive back) so I look at the payout for that trip as what I will make for that hour. I do that with each trip.
I think people miss the point of these types of gigs. I delivered phone books for years right before Christmas as it just gave me another 100 bucks towards gifts. This isn't meant to support an entire lifestyle. This is more like instead of sitting on your butt on the weekends and watching Big Bang Theory listen to an audiobook and make an extra 100 bucks towards groceries or make your car payment every month. Supporting a lifestyle of course it's gonna suck. If you want that be a truck driver. Or better yet just go work for Walmart my kid makes like 18.00 an hour. It's not a job or starting a business.

First time I sparked I didn’t know about tip baiters and I was doin orders that were paying for $40-50 and I was like dam this is easy money and then Tuesday came around and I realized they took there tips away
Hey, Mike. On a 6 stop order you would be delivering non food items. Spark limits the # of stops to 3 on grocery deliveries.

We have one Wal-Mart. Our orders are either for one or two deliveries at the most. Pay is high. 20 and up. It can go up to like $77 for two orders and the drive is less than fifteen minutes away. You can make very good money. Yes, I have been experiencing orders coming out late or not ready within the 15 minute time frame that we have to check in recently. I think its because there are new workers, lack of workers, and workers not coming into work. I have experienced the loader saying that he does not see me checked in? I do not know why that is.
All of those issues are relevant. What I have heard from Walmart associates is that each store has a labor budget it cannot exceed. So, there may be employees who are available and willing to come in on their day off to help out, but they are not willing to pay overtime.
So, this results in delays.
In my experience, you can be up to about 10 to 15 minutes past the 45 minute mark picking up an order without hurting your metrics. The first come first serve orders don’t hurt your metrics, but you have about 15 minutes to get to the store after you accept it.
Excellent, I love it
You can usually multiapp in my zone to make it worthwhile. One store has about every other order going the same direction plus I can usually pair it up with a DD that lands in the same neighborhood. Sometimes I can find something that brings me back to the Walmart.
The other one is not as reliable and can be quiet on any given hour. Supercenters have much more reliable assignment offerings than regular sized stores but have received great offers at both. Sometimes the multistop 5+ orders are worth it. Got $43 for 0.5 miles once but we 18 drops b/c someone ordered 18 computers under different names on the same address. Had $40 for 12 stops and 14 miles once which was also worth it. They do pay for wait time but only if it is above 15 minutes and they eventually bring you the order; just $2.45 flat for cancelled orders no matter how much time you waited no matter if it is your fault or theirs.
Walmart and spark will probably get sued for allowing customers to change the tip or completely remove your tip

Hi Mike. Just found your channel. I do Uber Eats, DoorDash and spark. I am also in the Pittsburgh area, south of Pittsburgh. I am in the Charleroi zone most of the time since I am from Belle Vernon. I’ve done pick ups at the Belle Vernon Walmart. Brownsville is also in that same area but I’ve never picked up there. Uber eats sucks around here because orders are far and few between. DoorDash dominates on food delivery. I don’t do spark very often. One thing I do have is a couple laundry baskets in my hatch. I drive a Subaru outback. When I do spark, I won’t do more than two orders at a time either. One order goes in one laundry basket the other goes in the other.
Spark miles that are shown are from the store to the customer. UE miles are from where are located currently to the pickup and to the dropoff
I have also been delivering for spark in the Pittsburgh area. Have you noticed that nobody tips anymore and the pay isn't what it used to be?
Wow Walmart pickups on Uber Eats in my area (AK) is fire. Always ready and $5+/mile. I never tried Spark tho.
yo., I watch your channel and appreciate the info, also watch the guy you are reviewing. all good. thanks for the tips/
also, this guy you are reviewing is pretty cool., I been watching both of you to navigate my way here.
also, you need to appreciate that some of us [myself] take what we can get on orders and just this week, im sitting 45 minutes, no order, so, w2e gotta keep moving.

is there a way to accept only pre-sorted and ready to put in your trunk deliveries?
Yeah the wait times ruin it. Wasn’t worth it for me. Beaver County PA.
Seems only worth doing around Christmas. I saw 40-50$ payouts.
I've taken as many as 18 stops, these aren't groceries, they really couldn't be, it's usually small home things that go quick and average about $25/hr, a couple times they did sneak a TV in but even this wasn't terrible, the only reason I wouldn't take these multi stop runs is if your working towards incentives, it's very time consuming and works against getting multiple stop bonuses
That's smart. Multi stops means only one time at Walmart. Maybe they should increase the pay for those that do multiple stops. Help the drivers workout the small kinks like separating things in your car.
I just saw a order today for 14 stops like what😮 I’m in Pittsburgh doing it too I’m thinking about trying out another zone I’m always at the n Versailles Walmart they are slow
Mile count from the app is definitely from current location to restaurant then to the delivery address.
Tried spark for the first time today. accepted an offer for $73, 30 miles, 20 deliveries. After checking in and waiting for an hour, they all disappeared from my screen and they told me the system had grouped a bunch of singular items together and they broke them apart and sent them to different drivers and my reward was earning $4.88.
Dang wish me luck. I'm trying it tomorrow morning. Small town, they have incentive program running in my zone this month so I think they need drivers. I hope it goes smoothly or at least decently smooth
@ptrekboxbreaks5198 you'll be fine. 👍
P.s Like instacart, they hire to many people and the server gets flooded. You're lucky to get 1 offer an hour and usually it's no more than $20, after time, gas and driving back to the store, it's more like $10. Bs if you ask me
i have been doing spark for a week 10 deliveries 1 had to wait 10 minutes for We have 9 walmarts in my zone I think the miles are great i can pick up all by .45 to 00 I am done both deliveries .10-.20 past Ill uber eats I would like 4-6 deliveries not just 1 or 2 Would like 30-40 minutes of work. I love it now with walmart there so many in my city if uber eats takes me out of my typical area i can pick right back up at walmarts I just need more time to get my hustle on learning ins and outs
Your driver Mighty Mike! Just when you wanna be done with spark, they find a way to pull you back in to do a review on someone doing spark 😂
Not getting any orders..wait around for 3 hrs for one order
There's 10 walmarts within 40 miles of my house... I wanna try this but I don't wanna play Walmart ping-pong all day... would you say it's worth it?
Signed up a month ago, got a notification i was finally approved last night. literally have gotten 5 notifications for orders and they all give me less than a minute to accept.
My problem is arriving at pickup and Walmart new robotic system is down, so that order is canceled after I've arrived and tips should not be removed
Did you know that when offer cards are stacked, it indicates a batched order?
Anyone have any experiences with Spark in SoCal? I'm near San Fernando Valley, Simi Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas. Wondering if it's worth trying out around these areas?
Apply now because there's a long wait time. You can do point p/u in the meantime. It will give you an idea which Walmarts rock and which just suck the elephant's junk. Good luck!
The 3+ batch orders are only 1 -4 items per order but usually its 1 item
Hi I'm from the Illinois area south of Chicago 73 miles the other day was my first time doing spark wait an hour and a half for one batch of 4 deliveries made $23 I went back to the store and waited for 2 hours orders popped up but instantly vanished in my area the town is small but what was pissing me off I saw another driver picking up orders left and right
you still hate spark 2023 lol! Look ... have spark running, take a good one thats worth a potential wait. Then after picking up the order, turn on uber, get a good uber order going. Get back in prime position to be able to pick up another spark order that will be worth the wait. And repeat.
How is the Mars cranberry market
A lot of those multiple orders are usually just one-piece or two-piece is going to the delivery and it's not usually grocery
Pieces
I’ll tell what the problem is, they put DoorDash and any other 3rd party last in line. I tell you this because I see it all the time. WM doesn’t care.
You got it partly right. It depends on the gm of that Walmart. If they do that, try another Walmart. Not all do this, but the one's that do suck hard on the elephant's trunk.
Spark is the only app I do that's store to customer. All others I do is where I am to store to customer.
What percent of customers tip vs. those that don’t?
I started Spark right before Christmas and haven't looked back (I am in E. Windsor, CT). DD/GH/UE just put too many miles on my car along with wear and tear. I live .7 miles from a Walmart in my zone (there is another 20 minutes away that I never take orders from) so I am very fortunate that I can sit in my apartment and get orders. I only do $2 per mile orders (from store to customer and back is how I calculate it). I never do the In-Store Pick Ups (always $1 per mile and/or multi stops) and mostly do Shop and Deliver unless a Curbside Pickup is better (:20 after they go out, :45 pick up). TBH I am fortunate with location of my Walmart and I am not in a city so it is easy driving.
I can’t wait to start. My area is saturated right now so I can’t sign up but I am also super close to Walmart and Home Depot.
Lol same. I even go to the same Walmart in ct for orders lol. Never going back to dd
I think the wear and tear is worth it on the car if you're making good $$...start putting some aside each week for getting your car fixed or tuned up to keep it in shape
Spark & Flex saved my summer after restaurant delivery slowed down. Lately I start my morning with a couple of Spark orders & then go from there with some instant offers on Flex & a couple of lunch orders with Uber/DD/GH. I can usually get $100+ by noon.
Miles = from the store to the customers house.
How do you calculate $ per mile ratio then?
@@bradekegren1723 I don't focus on that as much I focus on how long the trip will take me. I look at the offer amount and assume that the trip will take an hour (which it does in most cases in my market) and decide of its worth my time.
always from pickup location to dropoff location - never from driver location to pickup location -

I just had 18 stops 47.1 miles for $42 lol

I stay at the local Walmart all day and get orders I make 200 a day on 50 bucks of gas
The batch orders and small grocery orders were lucrative but large shoping grocery orders were a pain. Some items coulntbe found and the app would freeze. Then you wasted more time on the phone. I enjoyed spark better than Uber, i wish the money was there. I don’t drive F,Sa or Su for Uber with good reason. Passenger quality.
Any one in California that can tell me how much it pays
Walmart adding more benefits for customers on the app but wont increase their pay per order. Forgeting gas, oil changes, wear and tear and the risking of accidents are on the drivers. Avg. delivery should be no less than 15 per delivery. Especially adding an extra order to make it 3 deliveries. They will lose great drivers who can make the more with uber eats or instacart who actually care about their drivers by paying more for the minimum order. They can not forget turn over ratio on changing drivers will deminish great service and cost the company more to hire new drivers. Walmart is just too rich to be cheap with their drivers.
The miles is from store to customers
CANADA ?
Not here. They stack up to 20 or so stops for 20 to 40. Or they say 2 stops 17-20 but they don't justify the distance. Smh
And i usually only have to wait 10mins to get the orders
If you able do some auto parts is more quick then Walmart
I cannot even spark the orders are horrendous
HEY ARE YOU IN THE INDIANAPOLIS MARKET?
Store to customer sadly, the mileage they show
Spark works fine here in the Windy City. It takes no time to get $100 in a few hours. It all depends on the time you start and what you select.
Have you tried different Walmarts?
Yes it all depends on the timing
Walmart Sparks grocery delivery is becoming a version of Uber, very low pay and high miles.
It's all about dollar per mile. Not time
Who got a account for me I’ll pay some money can’t get approved been waiting for months
I one time waited 50 minutes at a walmart and ONCE they fkn came to my car to check my order number this boy say “its not ready and i dont know when it will be ready”…. Never went to that location again. Walmart wtf is up with your employees
They are never ready when uber eats is picking up at walmart
Hola tengo problemas para crear mi cuenta me envía a una lista de espera ayúdame Porfavor asi como yo tengo a varios amigos que están ai
Ugh stay away from
North Versailles lol i live in mckeesport and its terrible.

I must be on a different planet. My Walmart has less than 10 min wait till order comes out. And I make over 20.00 per hr. Easily best gig app in central pa. Havent DD or GH in almost a year. But I still love these videos.
@Jeff Geerling THATS WHAT I FIGURED OUT. HOW DO I GET PLUGGED IN?
Yes, you are on a different planet. A lucky planet! I have waited 45 minutes, once! Also, I routinely pull up to the park area for pick up and see anywhere from 10-12 cars waiting. So, Spark in my area of Jacksonville, FL is a tough hussle to make over $10/hr. 😢
@Jeff Geerling On Spark? I call bullshit! Create a channel and show some evidence.
DUE TO APP GLITCHES AND SPARK TRYIN TO RIP ME OFF I LEARNED THE SAME ORDER CAN BE OFFERED TO DIFFERENT DRIVERS FOR DIFFERENT AMOUNTS. ONCE YOUR ACCEPTANCE RATE DROPS THE PAY RATE IS CUT IN HALF
I'm thinking about doing something else, Uber Eats has really bottomed out here.
All the apps have. We are heading directly into a full-on economic collapse. We are all gonna get bankrupted.
@@jeffgeerling7199 Is this some kind of product you are trying to sell?
@Jeff Geerling .. how do I get the spark bot???
Try a different area. Are you willing to drive 30 miles away if you could kill it?
@@johno3288 I don't know. 60 miles both ways seems silly if I live in the middle of a city. 30 miles out is rural.
F, Spark and Shipt!!! Neither are allowing new drivers.
