Thank you for this video. I love the way you transition the poses , making it truly doable for seniors. I enjoy your calm and soothing instruction it helps me to keep going.
I've lost count of the number of youtube beginner yoga classes I've tried and given up on because I just couldn;t manage them. Finally I've found the online tutorials that I can stick with as I try to increase my fitness and mobility after many years of illness and inactivity. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've only been doing these daily for about a week but already I feel as though I am standing taller. x
Thank you so much for your comment! It meant so much to me to hear your kind words. I really appreciate it! I am so glad that you are gaining more mobility and flexibility. That is wonderful news! It is such a great feeling to have less pain when you move your body. You feel more vibrant and alive!!! 😀🌈💕
@@GentleYogaandWellness It's been really disheartening to repeatedly try beginner/gentle/senior/for the inflexible routines only to find I don't just struggle but can barely manage an approximation of the postures. It made me feel even more hopeless than I already was. I'm so grateful to have found your channel, I'm feeling confident that your routines can help me become stronger and more mobile and flexible over the coming year. I used to run 11K every morning with my dog before I became ill. I don't think that will happen again but I would love to comfortably walk that distance regularly in the future. x
I have noticed that some of the yoga videos that claim to be “beginner” are really quite advanced. I think sometimes yoga instructors are very flexible, and they forget how challenging yoga poses are for true beginners. As someone who has used yoga to manage my own chronic back pain, I understand the value of listening to your body and using slow gentle movement to increase flexibility and mobility. I am so happy that you are starting to feel better. I am feeling very positive that you will be having longer walks soon! You may even begin to appreciate walking just as much as running. There is a meditative quietness with walking that I very much enjoy. 😊
@@GentleYogaandWellness I think you're right. Unless you've experienced health and fitness issues yourself then perhaps it's hard to put yourself in the shoes of someone who is struggling, and truly understand how much the moves need to be broken down and simplified to enable participation. Because of your own experience you understand what's needed and I'm so grateful to have found your channel. As for walking, it gives the time and space to really look at nature, I do a lot of foraging these days and make many stops to rest and stand and look around to absorb the sounds, colours, sights and smells of the woodlands and fields. Mind you, it's absolutely freezing at the moment in the UK, stunning snow and frosts but bitterly cold, I can't wait for spring to arrive!
