- Some of the more obvious signs of addiction are: lack of hygiene, spending a ton of money, sleeping at odd hours, mood swings, and forgetting daily responsibilities. One big sign that is often overlooked is how much time the person spends in the bathroom.
Drug addicts are always in the bathroom because it’s a place that offers them privacy. No matter if the person is at home, work, or a public place, when they go to the bathroom other people respect their privacy and typically don’t barge in on them. The other reason drug addicts are always in the bathroom is that the bathroom offers them many of the tools they need to get high. IV drug users need things like clean water, cotton, and a towel. They can usually find all of those in the bathroom.
I got high in the bathroom whenever I could. Many drug users feel the bathroom is a relatively safe place to get high. Saying “I need to use the bathroom” is a good excuse many drug addicts use to get away for 15 minutes.

When I was married, my wife at the time always commented on how long I would spend in the shower, 30-40 mins, sometimes twice a day. It was because I was smoking heroin off the foil. She eventually found out about my addiction & promptly proceeded with divorce lawyers. It always catches up with u no matter how normal u think things are, like a functioning addict does.

I was always in the bathroom trying to hit a vein and shoot heroin privately because nobody knew, but half an hour later ill be sat with my mates nodding and they all was asking whats wrong with my eyes
Plus if im shaky and drop a little product on the floor i can pick it up (bathrooms dont generally have carpet)

I’m pretty sure the cause of my skin picking is mental illness non related to my various addictions but I would like to add that after I’m done picking until I’m “satisfied” then I have to hold paper on my face to stop the bleeding before I go in public and the worse my picking gets, the longer I have to wait for the bleeding to stop. That’s why I take longer in the bathroom when I’m really struggling vs how I usually am.

I always wondered if the bathroom affects the high. My best friend came out mean everytime he came out the bathroom after 2 hrs. He was fine when we used together
Our environment definitely affects us more than we realize. Perhaps it has something to do with the tight space of the bathroom or the isolation. Who knows?

@@Soberdogs I tend to sit on the toilet for a hour or 2 just on my phone. Even though I'm not doing drugs , wich was where I was allways at snorting shit . It's a terrible problem , almost as if the washroom is my trigger

My sisters a junkie I’m sure if it .. she’s homeless staying in her truck I feel bad but she’s in the “shower” for hours at a time.. she is stocked w tp n paper towels..???? opiates make you constipated.. getting off of it.. and if you're a meth user, you know it dehydrates you and water isn't your first priority.. when you stop using you've got about a months worth of uhhhhhghh (happened to me, the pain of backed up sewage made me think i was having a heart attack)

Thats a good one IDK I would say that the addict used them to wipe blood of some other substance and didn't want you to see it in the laundry so they threw it out or they took towels with them to wipe things off when they used and again decided to toss them instead of wash them

Yea your right but still the main question of "why are addicts always in the bathroom?" is a huge search term. I guess the answer is not that obvious to many people.

Once I just shoot heroin, and slowly walk down the street when two cops walk my way, i had two or three exstasy in my pocket, and paniced cos of cops and eat the x, that ruined my high and f.....d me real good.

@@Soberdogs in those days x was strong coming from amsterdam. i no longer felt heroin just severe hallucinations from x. but i was fine, i loved uppers.
