I totally agree with your comments about being less materialistic and to embrace simplicity. A wise man once said: “contentment is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.”
Your experience teaching children chimes with my own career as a primary teacher; which became a vocation and which I regarded as an immense privilege, from the very first morning when I walked in to an Elementary School class room in Canada and the day I left my Primary School class in the United Kingdom in 2007.
Children unlike us adults have no hidden agendas; their sense of wonder, trust and enthusiasm is inspirational, and gave me every day of my teaching career, far more than I gave in return.
Very heart-felt! I just retired back to China after 43 years of teaching in 5 different countries. It only gets better...the last year (Korea) was one of the best. The students taught me all about AI : ) The profession needs men like you.
Man this was a great video bro , very simple but great! I feel exactly the same way, living abroad and teaching children has helped me grow a lot , In hindsight I can’t believe how much growth I have experienced especially when I have a reoccurring thought of “ have I accomplished or have I made a positive impact on anyone” it all started making sense when I realized it isn’t about me , not sure of you get me, but as a man, even though I said it ain’t about me , sometimes I’m proud in a genuine way of how I changed for better even though I’m still very much flawed ! Much love bro!! Keeping pumping out this content!
There's certainly a lot we can learn from the children who are way more simple, direct n close to their own selves! Learn to relax n enjoy the simple things in life n we'll feel more at peace with ourselves n others! Great we're all learning n changing for the better!
@@ZhenYae In most Asian countries, where traditional values are still kept, teachers are respected. In China, a teacher has the same status as a parent. Many have close relationships with their teachers. Even a president would still bow to his now elderly teachers.
@viewpointabroad I understand that. I've since watched some of your other videos, though, and they are helpful! I like that you have a balance between positive/negative. How long would you say it took you to learn decent mandarin?
Yep! Been living abroad since the 80s, but it wasn't until I lived as a volunteer in the Republic of Kiribati in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for 4 years that I really "changed" ... I reckon you'd love an experience like that.

Wow, the school is spotless clean! Totally agree with what you have said, and thank you for sharing your thoughts.
starts from smart, ends in wisdom. I can see the improvement.
Great sharing. More foreigners should visit China.

Great stuff. Been teaching abroad myself for over 15 years now. It's been life changing.
Agree. Great stuff.

Are still teaching now or retired ?

Thanks 🙏 I appreciate that , you’re too kind
I was an ESL teacher in Taiwan for 11 years. The experience changed my life. My goal was to serve the Baha'i Faith there.

Excellent message!
I like this, this is what I need in my life. I'm really considering coming to teach there, so glad I found your channel. Time to binge watch.
I’m gonna try to start putting out more real meaningful videos about how I really feel. I wasn’t happy with the direction of my older vids.

Sending you love from the US man. I felt your message.
Thanks 🙏 appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Beautiful message! Btw how did you become specifically a gym teacher? I only thought about teaching English but teaching PE would be up my alley too!
I’ve been doing sports competitively my whole life. I’m also a certified fitness trainer and ex competitive bodybuilder ( when I was much younger )
@viewpointabroad Wow! Impressive! Thank you for answering!
