I seriously can’t get enough of your videos and commentary. I see a lot of folks when they post their china content tend to be very sensationalized and over exaggerated, everything for the sake of clicks, (I get it we all gotta make a living somehow) but your content is so informative, sincere, valuable, and real. I really enjoy seeing your personality and willingness to show us how things could really be for better or for worse for those of us who’d like to head out there, teacher or not. Thanks!
my son is in shenzhen. bachelor apt for about US$320/mth. china has varying rental rates for all economic situations. not to mention cost of utilities, which he pays less than $30/mth, decent meal for under $5, cheap transportation too. living costs less means you save more. difficult to do in the west now and for the foreseeable future
We are actually small-scale landlords in Nanning. We get 1600 RMB a month for a small, one bedroom flat without a view, but in a prime downtown area. Unlike our landlording experiences in the USA, we have had zero drama in renting out property here in China.
Here where I am a lot of the balconies have been converted to living space mostly because the weather here. When I was in the south almost all had balconies. Here it’s cold in winter and too hot in summer to be out on a balcony.
I couldn't do the shower with the toilet. There needs to be a proper screen. Will be moving to Yangzhou soon and hoping I can find a decent bathroom XD.
Step staired Chinese loft bedrooms not for anyone with a weak bladder : ) Nothing harder than a half asleep navigation of those stairs! Cool videos showing the range of prices and quality.
Luoyang cost of living seems cheaper than the southern city you lived before? I'm not sure foggy weather always means pollution, but it is possible in Luoyang. Stereotype southern Chinese always think Luoyang dirty😅Sorry. Foggy morning happened occasionally from the west city I'm living now.
The last apartment is nice but the first two would not be acceptable to me. There are so many "best places to move to" videos which included Vietnam - also a "communist country" - or rather, a country led by a communist party. This shows that how badly China is represented. It's a very affordable place to live in, nice standard of living, with advanced technologies, great infrastructure, nice food and very safe. Job prospects for foreigners are good too. It's better than a lot of other places in the lists but, as all of us know, it's a taboo to say that China is a nice place. It's unfortunate.
china is nice bro, it may not match your political views but that doesnt make it not nice... this guy is saving hella money and paying incredibly low cost of living, that alone makes it 500x better than america. money is the #1 priority for 99% of people. politics that dont effect you are like #81 on that list

Thanks a lot. That’s nice of you to say. Appreciate you taking the time to share this comment with me.

Good information!
Great video ! I definitely like the last one the most but I prefer to have a balcony..do some of these places have gyms and pool? 🏊

Very affordable

don't worry, they aren't hard to find.
You can clean the toilet while taking a shower. Not bad.
Don't forget to mention that some landlords might reject you simply because you're from the US (or a different country)...
Happened to me before but that’s not what this video is about. Not all people in China are like that. There’s always 1-2 jerks in every country

@@viewpointabroad Don't give 'em a pass bro. Gotta lay it down AS IS. Tell the good with the bad.
I always do

That is crazy compared to the USA. Is it not a "thing" to rent houses there? Or high end apts? If so, Id love to see a video on those.
people live in apts mostly in cities, high end ones would be found in tier 1 big cities, with face fingerprints security etc.
Yes for sure. I’ll try share some videos with mid scale and higher end apartments.
I would call my place a budget place and I have a fingerprint keypad to enter my house 😭

We had to cancel classes 2 days because pollution. This was pollution not fog, but it;s not often it polluted like that it's rare occasion

I’ve been saying China is nice for 15 years 😭
