Name a better ski review duo than Jeff and Bob. The best!
Thanks Shawn!
I realize I am quite randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to watch newly released series online?
@Kamryn Shepherd Flixportal =)
@Anderson Branson thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it !!
@Kamryn Shepherd Happy to help =)
Excellent review guys...love the on hill footage combined with the on hill commentary...just great
Thanks Chris! We plan on doing a lot of on-snow reviews this season.
I’ve been skiing on the same old slalom skis for like 15 years. I tested these bad boys out today and loved them. I don’t think I need to try any other pairs, I’m pulling the trigger and finally buying a new pair of skis
Have fun!
I love ❤️ Kastle
Mx88 is a great ski, think its a great improvement from the mx 89 which was great on groomers, felt more like an old school gs-ski, while the new 88 feels a bit more like a modern all mountain ski, better offpist, more fun but kept the aggressive stable feel at High speed. It looks better too, and hopefully better quality than 89, which after about 30 days of skiing had the top layer peeling off. The dealer gave me a new pair the 88. I grew up ski racing but went on to snowboarding in my teens and then to allmountain skis. Skis like mx88, volkl mantra have been my favourites over the past decade
I agree there are some noticeable improvements to the 88, and I also agree with your assessment that it feels more like a modern all-mountain ski. Bummer about your topsheet delaminating! We haven't seen anything that bad with any Kastles from our shop recently, so hopefully it was just a bad batch.
thanks guys. what Kastle ski would give me similar response and pop power but be a touch lighter and a bit more forgiving for some relaxed days....if I'm owning one ski?
These look much easier to control than the Ranger 92 Ti. Tails can grab or slide in shorter turns. Longer turns look similar. The Rangers looked like tail sliders and difficult to make short turns on without a lot of effort. I don’t think I’d want the Rangers on an icy day versus these. Better yet on icy days would probably be something like the Blizzard HRCs with the 74mm waist!! :)
Are you skiing in December 2020? Lots of snow! I'm surprised.
It's finally starting to get pretty good in northern Vermont, although we only got the edge of the big storm that just dropped 40 inches on southern VT.
Hey, guys! Thanks for the review!
A quick question. Would you consider Volkl Mantra M5 as a potential competitor to MX88? And if "yes" what would be your choice.
I am a strong skier and ski 50/50 all terrain / groomers.
Thank you in advance!
Yes and no. I'd say the Kendo 88 is a better competitor to the MX88. Closer in width and overall performance. My recommendation would somewhat come down to ability level. The MX88 has a very flat, squared off, and stiff tail, which makes it pretty demanding in off-piste terrain. An advanced/expert skier shouldn't have any trouble with it, but some still might find it to be a little much. Kendo is similar, not quite as precise on firm snow, but a little more forgiving off trail. Hope that helps!
@@SkiEssentials Appreciate this. Thank you!!!
I haven't seen any 2022 skis yet anywhere online, could you tell me which ones are presented already?
There really aren't any available just yet. You'll start to see some popping up in mid-January, and we'll be ready for you with reviews.
@@SkiEssentials Thank you for you response. That what I expected indeed, hence why I was surprised to hear you talk about 2022 skis. Thanks for the great reviews
What all mountain ski would u recommend that can u can ski in park and east coast conditions as well as 1-2 feet of pow
Rossignol BLACKOPS Holyshred, Nordica Soul Rider 97, Dynastar Menace 98, Atomic Bent Chetler 100, K2 Reckoner 102, Volkl Revolt 104... lots of skis in that category these days. Start with those and let me know if you have any other questions!
Whats the main difference between MX75 and MX88? Which one would you recommend?
The big difference is just the width. They're both great skis, it just depends on the style terrain and snow conditions you're skiing, as well as your personal preference. The MX75 is quicker edge to edge and more precise, making it feel more like a dedicated carving ski. The MX88 still carves very well, but as it's wider, you get a little more versatility, and it really feels like a true all-mountain ski rather than a frontside ski. Hope that helps!
@@SkiEssentials Thank you! Is there a big difference between the MX75 and the MX74? Or are they quite the same?
