    I bought the Kendo 88 after using a demo pair. So far I love these ski's.

    A little bit of a West Coast bias.... 92 and 88 certainly on certainly on the wider end of narrow... I would love to see you guys give some attention to skis that fly under the radar. Show love to: Brahma 82, Rossi Exp 82, Kastle DX 85 (more of all mountain shape than Mx), Volkl Kanjo etc. Skinny is the new fat!!!
    Many people automatically reach for the wider versions of these skis, but would really benefit from from something more narrow...

      For sure! Stay tuned for some love to that narrower end of the spectrum in our carving skis video. Not sure people here in CO are fully signed onto the "skinny is the new fat" MO, but there's for sure a lot to be said for reaching for narrower options than many people tend to

    As a fan of skiing, I quit my job at the bank this year to create a ski goggle brand "surgoggles" with my friend, dedicated to promoting the sport. If allowed, I can share a pair of your ski goggles "surgoggles" and give instructions to the fans.

    I have to comment on the Stormriders 88... Granted mine are 2016 but they fly.. No Speed Limit.. Now that I got my DPS and Kastle I am not sure when I am going to use my Stockli.. OOOooo the tough decisions.. I would like to take those MX 88s for a spin... I heard they fly too..

      My MXs are a lot of fun! I think more energy than the stocklis. Mine would launch me from turn to turn. So much fun!

    I have both the 2023 Elan 96 RS Black in 172 and the Atomic Maverick 95tis in 180. I'm a solid intermediate (5'11" 190LBS) middle aged male doing 3 trips out west and 6 weekends up to Vermont. I'd like a better choice for the Vermont/NH hard pack/ice. I've been looking at the K2 Mindbender 89s, the Nordica Enforcer 88s, Volkl Mantra M6 and the Kendo 88s. Whatever I get will be strictly for the East Coast and mostly groomers. Thoughts???

      Howdy! Great selection of skis there. I think for Volkl I'd strictly look at the Kendo (Mantra might be too wide for your use case for these skis). The more hard-charging option would be the Kendo 88, as it wants you to have that forward stance and to be driving the shovel. The Enforcer 88 is more willing to let you back off a little. I also find the Enforcer 88 to have more pop and snap, whereas the Kendo feels very planted. The Mindbender 89, on the other hand, since it has a partial sheet of metal, will feel the lightest on the feet, quickest, and probably the easiest going. The softer shovels keep things more playful, but on those frighteningly firm days, it might feel less stable than you're looking for. Another option to look at would be the Blizzard Brahma 82, which will give you more firm snow carving performance with a narrower waist, but would be less versatile for dipping off trail (and is probably the most demanding of the bunch) I hope that helps, let us know if you have other questions about these skis!! -Alex

    Where would Salomon Stance 90 fit here?

    • @powder7skis
      @powder7skis  Год назад +1

      Great skis. They're built with metal and a directional shape, so they'll be more similar to the Kendo, Enforcer, and Stormrider 88 than, say, the Bent or Captis. They're super lively and energetic. -Matt

      @powder7skis Thanks for response. What will be your recommendation for good skis for carving that can also be used for small jumps? I dented my Stance 90s doing that. I don't think they are designed to be playful.

    • @powder7skis
      @powder7skis  Год назад +1

      @@JayantW55 Something like the Bent or Captis will definitely feel the most playful for that stuff, but may not carve as well as you are looking if you like the way the Stances carve. Something like a K2 Mindbender 89 Ti, a Rossi Sender 94 Ti, or Armada Declivity 92 Ti would give you a bit more pop and play on side hits, while still having a metal back bone for more stability on firm snow. All those skis have more directional shapes, but I find them to feel a bit more forgiving for jumps and playing around more. -Alex

      @powder7skis Thank you for your recommendation. I think Declivity could be a better carver because of 2 sheets of metal.

    I prefer real skis from the 90s... If I wanted a snowboard, I would have bought one.
