Luigi's Mansion 2 HD was a way better title and I am super glad Nintendo made that change. Now the game totally makes sense now because it has the 2. It’s really pretty sweet!
Question: 🙋🏻♂️ If I played this game called Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon or 2, how does it look different than before? Just let me know if it’s one of my favorite game. 🔍👻
I feel like the hd Luigi model with barely any face animation looks weird on the switch I think they needed to redo some of the animations and complexly reanimate Luigi’s face when he’s close to the camera
Y'know, its a little odd (to me at least) that the 3Ds version of this game is entitled: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and the HD Switch version is entitled: Luigi's Mansion 2.
It's obvious that the remaster looks far better than the original, but I think Nintendo couldn't replicate the original lighting at all in most of the zones. I guess than in the time they have before releasing they'll acomplish it tho
@@Sissouchaos If you look in the various trailers: when Luigi is materialized by a red camera scene and when more Luigis appear from the floor in multiplayer mode
I'm so excited to finally play this again (and hopefully complete it this time lolol) I had this game twice for the 3ds, however I lost it both times 0-0 (I still have the cases, but not the games LMFAO) I was so excited when they announced this for the switch, this was one of my favorites for the 3ds!!
I still can't get over how above and beyond this remaster goes. Calling this just HD is underselling this by a landslide, they remodeled basically everything, added texture to things that were just flat colors, adding depth into walls and the floor etc it's insane. And yet it's very evident this game is no where near finished I can't imagine how good this game is going to look by the next direct.
Finally an enhanced version of Dark Moon. Although I do wish NLG would've put more emphasis on texturing the game's very plain looking surfaces. But I guess the simple plain looking Tim Burton-esque uneven structures just runs too deep within the game's visual DNA. I GUESS. But since this games comes out next year, I have a teensy bit of hope that we might see a substantial jump in visual quality just as LM3 got during a time when people were all roasting the game's early teaser's graphics. Maybe even a full-blown 60FPS version with Anti-Aliasing (something Nintendo is quite allergic to) for their next inevitable system also next year? I mean the 3DS original was also running at 60, but it was more of an uncapped framerate type of situation. Meaning, the game's framerate was jumping up and down constantly which was not a fun experience.
So far I know this game might have motion controls because of one level in the 3ds required you to have precise motion of Lugi or he would fall off into the pit of nothingness
@@Yoshizuyuner Definitely not be able to replace the models with higher quality ones like this remaster. Best u can do is inject HD textures and UI Bump up the resolution and find a forum where someone was able to find the hex code to force the game to run at a kinda unstable 60fps. The 3DS emulator's arent far along yet to hav any dedicated game modifying projects like Dolphin or Cemu. (Recommend looking at the current "in-progress" project for Mario Sunshine called, Eclipse; Fan made sequel expansion) It's only recently this past year tht Citra got out of its 2yr long dev drought and been making massive headways to update it; It's stable Nightly build just now had the Vulkan api added in a few days ago.
I hope like Nintendo did with adding Pikmin 1 & 2 to the Switch to help Pikmin 4, I'd love to see them do the same treatment giving us the GameCube original Luigi's Mansion to help LM2, it'll not tarnish sales or ruin hype, it would make the hype more popular AND the fact we will have all 3 Luigi's Mansion games on one single Nintendo console which you can take a fully fledged Videogame in HD on the go!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
Although I do like the new look, there was something charming about the original that makes the remake look slightly off. Maybe its the Luigi model? Anyways, I'm excited For this!!!
Im hoping to see more ppl playing the superior scarescraper and playing this nostalgia in general while they wait for this remaster also I’ve noticed several glitches in this game as it gets older mostly audio related sometimes in game. and i play digitally and idk if there’s a way to look for corruption
I’ll be honest, the switch version looks better of course, but the 3ds version looks genuinely amazing and I would’ve thought the HD version would look like LM3 instead of being a minor graphical update and port.

The original Luigi‘s mansion should have been brought to the switch not the 3DS,Nintendo made the same mistake with Samus Returns, that would have made an awesome lunch title for Switch!
Yeah I was wondering why they decided to change the title for it. But since the third game is just called “Luigi’s Mansion 3, I think changing the title of this game to “Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD” just makes more sense.
Luigi's mansion dark moon ported to the switch, I guess they ain't done milking that cash cow, I already have it for the 3DS, good game, but I don't want to replay through it again, my personal opinion.
Honestly the best explanation i've seen is that they dont want people to this is either a spinoff or Luigi's mansion 4. Because they recently released a game with 3 in the title, releasing 2 as "Dark Moon" again might just seem misleading to consumers, and probably is better marketing to people who bought the 3rd game but not the 2nd. Just a guess.
Because not only it was originally called 2 but they kept the name in Europe. People didn't like how it was called Dark Moon after 3 came out, so they made people happy
here is where you can see that a good art direction is better than realistic graphics, cuz you only raise the definition retouch some textures and still looking good.
I wish we had gotten a remastered Luigi’s Mansion 1 instead. I still love the mansion from the first game being an actual mansion that you can fully explore. The second game is nice, but having level based mansions is so off putting.
Lm:Dark moon is the best luigis mansion. I want a discussion here now! Atmosphere wise, luigis mansion 3 had the same aspects of 2 but with added empasis on gooigi instead of the real feel of LM , the og of course is AMAZING but I truly believe that 2 brings the atmosphere and world building to a new level in comparison and the changes that were made in 2 were way more fun and spooky. Even if the 3ds graphics made finding things harder, We now have an hd remake!
I don't understand why people say that "the graphics will improve upon release" because it literally never happens. Game publishers want to show off the best possible product in trailers, this is what you'll get.
Seems unnecessary I enjoyed playing this game with the 3D feature on the New 3DS XL. It’s just too soon for this remake. The remake to LM 1 would’ve been great if they didn’t already done it for the 3DS.
Would be nice to get maybe super princess peach remake to switch, and a sequel to Donkey Kong jungle beat. Please no more remakes unless they’re really old and untouched since before the Wii.
It honestly looks like they just took the original game and bumped up the resolution. Which isn’t a bad thing, but I think calling this a remake is a bit of a stretch. Maybe a port or a remaster would be more fitting.
I'm really disappointed with this tbh. Not because it looks awful or anything (the 3DS version was great for the hardware), but if you compare it to LM3, a game created from the ground up that looks amazing, this remaster just looks just kinda the same as the 3DS one, just upscaled. I'd like to see how it looks in comparison with the original on an emulator, because I think it would be hard to tell the difference. I think making it align visually with LM3 should have been the baseline, like it is for many other remakes or remasters. 0:20 Here the 3DS one actually... looks better? Like the lighting (especially the window) and shadows
You have to watch the details. Many textures are completely new with many new details like hinges, screws etc. and Luigi has new eyes with more animation. Also some new layers on textures are added to make them real 3d.
This really highlights how good the original version looks.
It would be better if it was on Atari

If I played this game called Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon or 2, how does it look different than before?
Just let me know if it’s one of my favorite game. 🔍👻
I kinda think the footage on the right doesn't really represent how the game looked when you played it on an actual 3DS screen.
What if it turns out that Luigi was the one that was dead the whole time.
Never own 3ds now im happy this game coming on switch ❤
I feel like the hd Luigi model with barely any face animation looks weird on the switch I think they needed to redo some of the animations and complexly reanimate Luigi’s face when he’s close to the camera
Great comparison , definitely worth it with changes and hd
The Luigi's mansion 2 videos were the first videos I watched of gamexplain, before I had an account lol.
Im so hyped cause i love this game so much
Very exited for this. Never got to beat this game on 3ds
Y'know, its a little odd (to me at least) that the 3Ds version of this game is entitled: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and the HD Switch version is entitled: Luigi's Mansion 2.
It was called Luigi's Mansion 2 in Europe and Japan so they probably wanted to make it universal. Plus, it IS Luigi's Mansion 2.
It's obvious that the remaster looks far better than the original, but I think Nintendo couldn't replicate the original lighting at all in most of the zones. I guess than in the time they have before releasing they'll acomplish it tho
Seems good but I saw about drastic drops of framerate in the trailer
When please ?
@@Sissouchaos If you look in the various trailers: when Luigi is materialized by a red camera scene and when more Luigis appear from the floor in multiplayer mode
Super excited to replay this on the Switch, but my main gripe is that Luigi’s model/The Poltergust looks way to bright!
Secret Mine needs to be fixed in the Switch version compared to the 3DS version with short appearance, 5 levels, and no Polterpup
It's very early gameplay footage, so lack of polish is expected. I'm sure later on it will look better.
I'm so excited to finally play this again (and hopefully complete it this time lolol) I had this game twice for the 3ds, however I lost it both times 0-0 (I still have the cases, but not the games LMFAO)
I was so excited when they announced this for the switch, this was one of my favorites for the 3ds!!
I hope they let you visit the manor at the pace you want it and let you stay in the manor when you finished the mission.
Tengo una duda. Luigi's Mansion 2 es el mismo que el dark moon? O son dos juegos diferentes?
entiendo la confusión. Son el mismo juego pero dependiendo de el país en el que salió se le llama diferente
A Comparison with Citra would be nice aswell
Modifying game is pretty cheap way to beat it because obviously pc version could do so much more
@@Yoshizuyuner Definitely not be able to replace the models with higher quality ones like this remaster.
Best u can do is inject HD textures and UI
Bump up the resolution and find a forum where someone was able to find the hex code to force the game to run at a kinda unstable 60fps.
The 3DS emulator's arent far along yet to hav any dedicated game modifying projects like Dolphin or Cemu. (Recommend looking at the current "in-progress" project for Mario Sunshine called, Eclipse; Fan made sequel expansion)
It's only recently this past year tht Citra got out of its 2yr long dev drought and been making massive headways to update it; It's stable Nightly build just now had the Vulkan api added in a few days ago.
I’m so excited for this to be released
I hope Next Level Games fixes Secret Mine's problems in the 3DS version by making it bigger, adding 2 levels, and including Polterpup
This is awesome!
Although I do like the new look, there was something charming about the original that makes the remake look slightly off. Maybe its the Luigi model? Anyways, I'm excited For this!!!
I loves this game so much. I can't wait to play it again along with the 3rd one (which I 100% 3 times already 😂)
My absolute Highlight next year, can't wait it looks all so beautiful and clean love it,🤩
I started playing this game last week to get into the HD hype.
Im hoping to see more ppl playing the superior scarescraper and playing this nostalgia in general while they wait for this remaster also I’ve noticed several glitches in this game as it gets older mostly audio related sometimes in game. and i play digitally and idk if there’s a way to look for corruption
Going by Luigis mansion 3 graphics which are some of the switches best graphical capabilities, Luigi mansion 2 HD shouldn't disappoint.
I’ll be honest, the switch version looks better of course, but the 3ds version looks genuinely amazing and I would’ve thought the HD version would look like LM3 instead of being a minor graphical update and port.
I think Next Level fix Secret Mine's problems by adding 2 levels, adding Polterpup, and making it bigger
If you wanted to make it cost cheaper digitally how much would its cost drop down by (stupid question)
The HD version looks great and I'm excited to play this game on Switch. I only hoped it would be on par with LM 3 in terms of graphics.
Remember, this is suuper early footage. It's coming out Summer of 2024 so by then it will have been more polished.
@@Undyo Hopefully! I remember when LM3 was announced, it looked similar. But later on, they did massive upgrades
i hope they touch the animations a bit, in a few instances they just freeze and the animation looks unfinished, hope they change that on switch
Come on, Nintendo. If you're gonna port Nintendo 3DS games to the Nintendo Switch, then at least give us Tomodachi Life. Besides, you did give us Miitopia. 🙏💫
Another 3DS Game (also Wii U) should be Woolly World. The switch may have Crafted World, but WW is just so much more charming.
@@Undyo Agreed. In fact, Crafted World was far more sleep-inducing with its music than Woolly World was.
I'd prefer a new tomodachi life game honestly over a remake
@@Billigoat100 Agreed! And I want the clothing mechanic to be about the same as in Miitomo. All of them I pieces (shirts, pants/shorts, headwear, footwear, etc.)
@@Billigoat100Same. This may be the last chance for a new tomodachi game to come Switch as Nintendo is focusing on a next gen console that the next tomodachi game is more likely to be on if this month's direct doesn't reveal it.
I feel like I’m the only one hyped for this 😢
I want to be hyped for this game, but considering they’re not introducing anything new to the table besides, a graphical update I’m not too excited for it sadly
I hope Secret Mine gets fixed in the Switch Version since the 3DS Version has 5 levels, small mansion, and no Polterpuo
Same. Its definitely end-of-life game in terms of content, I'd buy LM3, which is an evolution of 2, and it was amazing.
The original Luigi‘s mansion should have been brought to the switch not the 3DS,Nintendo made the same mistake with Samus Returns, that would have made an awesome lunch title for Switch!
Nice!
I really hope Nintedo brings teh first one too, that way we'd have the trilogy on switch, and port other games like Samus returns
I hope they still call it “Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon” in the future
Yeah I was wondering why they decided to change the title for it. But since the third game is just called “Luigi’s Mansion 3, I think changing the title of this game to “Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD” just makes more sense.
@@Robbie.Jit was called “Luigi’s Mansion 2” on the 3DS too, but the title was changed for the US
@@eddy-_-1796 Yeah I heard about that too.
2:48 lol Luigi’s face here
Luigi's mansion dark moon ported to the switch, I guess they ain't done milking that cash cow, I already have it for the 3DS, good game, but I don't want to replay through it again, my personal opinion.
Why did they change the name from Dark Moon to simply 2? I thought it was a pretty cool name but I suppose it makes it seem more chronological.
It's was already named "2" in some countries.. It's also weird if it goes like this: 1 > Dark Moom > 3
Because it was only called Dark Moon in North America, it was 2 in Japan and Europe, and reasons above
Now I want a samus returns HD version
here is where you can see that a good art direction is better than realistic graphics, cuz you only raise the definition retouch some textures and still looking good.
Hopefully next: Luigi’s Mansion 1 HD. Followed by Luigi‘s Mansion 4
I wish we had gotten a remastered Luigi’s Mansion 1 instead. I still love the mansion from the first game being an actual mansion that you can fully explore. The second game is nice, but having level based mansions is so off putting.
Guess they dropped the ‘dark moon’ subtitle
Lm:Dark moon is the best luigis mansion.
I want a discussion here now!
Atmosphere wise, luigis mansion 3 had the same aspects of 2 but with added empasis on gooigi instead of the real feel of LM , the og of course is AMAZING but I truly believe that 2 brings the atmosphere and world building to a new level in comparison and the changes that were made in 2 were way more fun and spooky. Even if the 3ds graphics made finding things harder, We now have an hd remake!
No Luigi's mansion 1 is literally the best and most people agree on that in the subreddit
For anyone talking about the graphics, remember this is very early footage! It will probably look better in the future.
I don't understand why people say that "the graphics will improve upon release" because it literally never happens.
Game publishers want to show off the best possible product in trailers, this is what you'll get.
@@Marcuscaravanit happened with Luigi's Mansion 3
@@ask343and also pokemon bdsp
@@NotScared a bit yea but it still doesn't look quite as nice as other first party Nintendo titles
Can’t wait 4 switch remake
Address Secret Mine's problems by making it big, adding 2 levels, and including Polterpup
Does this confirm that 1 remake for the 3ds will be coming to switch? It'll be the only one not on the system
well the style looks more clearly now
I would die if they ported the original game based of the 3DS version .
2 isnt a remake it's a remaster an hd port lol
Looks great, day 1 purchase for me
It honestly looks like they just took the original game and bumped up the resolution.
Which isn’t a bad thing, but I think calling this a remake is a bit of a stretch. Maybe a port or a remaster would be more fitting.
Bro you can even see that they remade the models. Look at the polygons
they changed everything wdym 😭
