      I disagree, the game doesn't look bad, but it definitely doesn't look as good as the remake of Lugi's Mansion for the 3DS which has more detailed scenes and 3D models.

    *A few minor, hard-to-notice Switch changes that won't help you in any way:*
    *King Boo is slightly bigger.*
    *Luigi is slightly taller.*
    *King Boo actually has a laughing animation.*
    *Prof. Egad is also taller.*
    *The Gloomy Manor, Old Clockworks and Haunted Towers' outside designs were all remodeled and are probably the most physically changed models in the game so far.*
    *The dead tree in the intro has a purple tint.*
    *This information is, as stated above, completely useless.*

    Biggest difference are facial expressions which seem to have been redone to an extent, specifically Luigi's, you can see his lips are much closer to what he says, it's really easy to see when he goes "nononono" where his moth actually makes the shape. Although I think his eyes look a bit off here, like at 4:52 in the original he looks towards the tv but now his eyes stay centered.

    • @morganwheeler8611
      @morganwheeler8611 8 месяцев назад +19

      Luigi's eyes look like they just stay in place during the whole cutscene. Also, at 2:48, it genuinely looks like E. Gadd's model was swapped out for his LM3 one just by looking at the cuffs, collar, and buttons on his lab coat.

    • @liaml1694
      @liaml1694 8 месяцев назад +3

      Those fixed eyes really bug me now that I've noticed them, that's definitely a big animation oversight. Not sure how they managed to pull that off lol.

      @@morganwheeler8611 I think it looks more to me like they simply redesigned E. Gadd's model to look more in line with the updated design choices from LM3 rather than a ported model. They are still using the same engine Dark Moon uses. The model Luigi is using seems to be a modified version of his Luigi's Mansion 3 model and they perhaps hadn't got to the finishing touches of animating his eyes yet since his eyes in the original version were actually 2D textures that swapped to different frames for different expressions. We still have a month and half to go so I'm sure they'll be fixing things like this as usually around this time or so before launch is when game dev's are finding last minute bugs, touching up some details or adding last minute details, etc.

      Animations for the eyes and brows look really different because the original game uses animated sprites that are pasted onto his face model. The remaster actually has them as a physical part of the face model now, so they do look different. I don't really think I can call them worse just because they used a different technique.

      @@mustacheman529 Yeah but ocarina of time and majora's mask also didn't have a 10+ year gap between their releases and ocarina of time is a widely recognized smash hit of a game. LM1 was and still is a very niche game for a niche console that a lot of people either didn't play or even knew existed when Dark Moon came out, my Dad is living proof of that. It was confusing for those reasons. The subtitle was a bad choice through and through and Nintendo chose to recognize that this time. The only reason the series got another shot after the failure of LM1 is because Nintendo doesn't treat their franchises the way western game conglomerates do.

    so they put LM2 on the 3ds because they always meant for the first one to have been stereoscopic 3d. then they remade the first one on 3ds to make the original dream come tru… but then they go and remake LM2 for switch anyway? it’s the least fav of the three. (my personal second fav tho.)

      The people who say this is the least favorite are a vocal minority of LM1 die hards. This and 3 are the best sellers of the series and 2 in particular is very nostalgic for a lot of people my age who didn't grow up with the first one. I still think 1 is a great game but it is not the favorite, it isn't even widely available enough to be.

    The enhanced textures looks great and even the models with more polygon for the character are very good, but it looks like the enviroment still uses the same low poly models as the 3Ds' ones🤔I onestly would've expected some slightly more refined models aslo for the enviroment. They look great on the 3DS with the resolution it has, but on the switch it kinda looks like carboard cutouts, which is funny, because then we have the remake of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, and that game never looked better.

      @@mr_m4613 The switch isn't that far off because it's not really taking advantage of the switch's hardware. The newer and high quality models are nice but the lighting and the fact that it runs off the original code means that it's not that intensive.
      Also it's very easy to tell apart the switch and 3DS versions without the labels. The much higher quality models immediately give that away.
      So yes the 3DS isn't that impressive here because this is just a 3DS port slightly scaled up to look nicer on switch without changing much visually

    • @mr_m4613
      @mr_m4613 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@crestofhonor2349 well your second paragraph kinda contradicts your first paragraph as its clearly taking advantage of the switches hardware in order to clearly see the difference, you also have to remember that RUclips videos are compressed and really doesn't do it justice. So if it looks that good under compression then imagine how much better its going to look when its on your monitor in person.
      Also Luigi mansion 3 is probably one if if not the best looking game on the switch and if they can get it close to or right at LM3 graphics then there you go. He'll LM1 looks better than most games today and that game is 23 years old.

      @@mr_m4613 Luigi's mansion 1 doesn't look better than many gamecube games. It's not even close to modern games at all. I wouldn't consider LM1 better looking than pretty much any modern game by any of the big studios. It looks nice for a gamecube game but even then it's not the best looking game on that system
      Also I didn't contradict myself. I said the difference was obvious to see between the switch and 3DS but that's really just because of the better models. The actual lighting is pretty lacking for a switch game and could be much better.
      Yes I know the video is compressed but this game isn't hiding that much detail. The game's assets aren't that high quality like 8th and especially 9th gen games to hide all that detail.
      I do agree that LM3 is the best looking game on switch though. The lighting, models, physics, and animation are all top tier. It basically doesn't look much like a switch game at all and it's linear design and fixed camera are why it can look so good.
