- Hey there viewer who stumbled upon this
To my regular viewers -
Incase it wasn't made obvious in this video
No I'm not swapping over to MTG
This was very much an experiment that I think was enough of a success that I thought it warranted a video
An easy way to reach me is the FoW TCG Server - / discord

Hey a technique i use to delayer MTG card is packing tape. It does a pretty good job and when you get the hang of it you could do a few in about 5 minutes.
O hold up that’s not a bad idea
I might actually try this afterwork tonight
I recently tried sanding but I feel like the packing tape would be less messy yee
Thanks mang
@RustinWW I would show a pic but not sure how to add it lol
I literally just did 3 of them just to take picks. Like I said took about 5 min

I got packing tape lying around and I’ll take your word on it working enough to sacrifice a few basic lands to try it out yee
8:58 to 9:08 Why not just print on top of the image layer itself? Does it show through the proxy print or is it because of the thickness it adds making it thicker than your other cards in general?
If you are referring to like taping a card to a piece of paper and putting that through a printer
That method can work but you’ll still want a clean white layer so the coloring is correct(this method also requires you to determine the location of where you should place the card on the paper and hope it prints in the correct spot on said paper)
If you mean just throwing the sticker paper on top of the card that’s also an option but like you said
It does add a bit too much thickness to the card than I would be happy with
Definitely doable for a quick proxy but nothing I’d be proud of
Pokemon, YGO and Magic all use 280gsm card stock, that's why it feels so flimsy. About the cheapest card stock you can get. FoW uses 350gsm card stock as far as I know. Japanese games will typically use 300~350gsm.
Makes sense yee
120 pound cover stock works too pretty good.
Can you please tell me how to cut the edges ( Angles) of mtg Proxies like a real magic the gathering card?
@@jaafarmhasan8713 I have a video showing how I cut my proxies here - ruclips.net/video/IXCrdelpj3Y/видео.htmlsi=yWd2cbjkU_MOsj2L
This video you just watched was me showing off some proxies I was asked to make for a friend of mine yee
@@RustinWW is there a way for me to contact you? Or can I leave my insta account or telegram account and you can contact me?
Also how can I get Card images in high definition for Magic the gathering
@@jaafarmhasan8713there’s a link to a public discord I’m in in the description of this video
You can @ Rustin from there and you should see me
Not a fan of passing contact information around publicly but you can get ahold of me through there yee
@@jaafarmhasan8713that is something I don’t super know
I don’t typically make MTG Proxies
This was sort of a one off thing for a gift for his wife yea
So I just did a lot of Google searching to find what looked nice
What paper do you use for the foil(sorry for asking if you already said it on the video, my english is not to good) thanks before dude❤
You’re fine
I mentioned it in a previous proxy making video

@@RustinWW thank youu
Hello, do you have a referral to someone that makes very good looking proxy sets (Beta/Arabian Nights/Legends/Antiquities; etc?) I've been out for so long, but like the nostalgia feeling without paying the nostalgia premium lol. This would be for my personal collection only. Thank you kindly.
Hello there
I’m sorry to say that I’m not active in the MTG communities so I have no knowledge of anyone who is actively making sets worth of cards
My main game is FoW as mentioned in the video
I just wanted to show off some custom lands I had made for a friend yee
i never did proxies, dont plan on it either but if you take a sander to the card for a sec or two i bet thatd get rid of the layer lol just dont go crazy cuz then youll go through it lmao
O yea sandpaper might not be a bad idea to try out
Would probably have better luck not ruining the card than acetone
I’d probably do it by hand to avoid just sanding a hole through the card though yee
@@RustinWW can also try a suctioncup somehow(idk how lmao) to hold the card down on a surface. youd probably only need like 1-5 seconds lmao
@@joejojo5966 I was thinking some removable double sided tape on the back and then have that like wrapped around something to use to hold it in place
Not sure how well a suction cup would work but I do I have one that barely sees use from my ifixit kit yee
@@RustinWW just throwing ideas, bad or good at ya LOL with the prices of edh cards being so high i think everyone just proxies everything now lmao
@@joejojo5966 hey you haven’t pitched bad ideas to me at all mang
Now if I’m skilled enough with sanding that is a different story yee
And I know what you mean
One of my friends just uses a printing company for his decks these days too
