OMG I didn't notice that?!!! I just thought it was a special effect for the sake of emphasizing shock but to be able to double AS BOTH IS SO SMART
I like the detail of Odysseus' smirk growing as he confirms "Damn right that's not Penelope, Telemachus is a guy, KILLING TIME!"
Not a lot of Suffering animatics show what the crew is doing while Odysseus is shmoozing up to the siren so this was a really cool take on it!! I have to admit I laughed a little seeing them wrestling with them in the background.
Also, I love the detail of the "daughter" being caught after swimming away.

First of all, I LOVE Sirenelope's design! It's definitely different from all the adaptation I seen, with her hair being covered with hair rings, and she looks so sweet and wholesome too! (Makes me forget that she's really a siren :') ) I also like how you show Odyssus's crew when Sirenelope mentions Syclla, since he knows the cost of passing through her place, but...what other choice he have with the answers he've been given. : ( This is definitely a great animatic of Suffering, good work!! ^^ ✨️✨️

OMG THIS IS AWESOME!! the transformation of the siren!! the “daughter” being a siren that gets captured by the crew!! I adore the character designs too- and the visuals for Odysseus explaining the problem with Poseidon is really neat too!!
I also love the realization of Scylla and how it flashes over his face (sort of showing “we are the same you and I”), and the crew in the background hahah

I love Ody's face at 1:49 while the others are so happy to catch the sirens because they look so happy while Ody knows that he'd need to sacrifice them to get past. He knows what he's gotta do but he looks so guilty and hesitant, he still cares for the crew, but he knows that they'll have to die.
I love the design for Penelope, and the sirens!
And it’s rare to see the crew during these animatics, the sirens look so done with them 🤣.
I also like how you included showing the “daughter” and her design is beautiful too! Or I just really love your art style 🤣.

I loved the details, the character designs, especially Penelope's one and ow you made the siren designs. The funny part with the guys having a sirenin the air and holding them. I love the quality of the drawings and all the details you added here. Like the siren transformation being very fluid, the daughter being another siren, the crew capturing the sirens, the fact that they look so happy the exact moment Odysseus understand the sacrifices he'll have to make. Also the siren's irritation, which push her to get closer and being reckless. I can see you put a lot of thought and efforts into it and the result is awesome!

Ok, I didn't see any comments mentioning it, but I absolutely cracked up at the way you did Ody explaining how he's running from Poseidon, and the giant and simple raging Poseidon on the sheet he pulled down like a cartoon

So many compliments!
1. Sirenelope's design is just lovely.
2. Ody's expalining the situation with Poseidon like a teacher with visual aides and a pointer was very cute. I also liked that Sireneleope's reaction was her staying in character and listening rather than waiting for Ody to stop talking.
3. I had to rewind to see it fully, but I LOVED you overlaying Scylla's face on Ody. Perfect subtle foreshadowing
4. Ody turning to look at his crew and seeing them HAPPY doing -something- to protect themselves for the first time probably since Survive was both an unexpected delight and gut-punch. Seeing them active and happy and what they were doing made me laugh. Hearing Ody's lyric while he was watching them conveyed resignation versus musing about it. Such a small detail in an otherwise upbeat frame was brutal. Bravo.

i've been so excited for this one! you captured the song so well - i love the pull down screen when ody's explaining about the posideon it seems like most artists are in agreement that it would be a more cartoony section and i love seeing everyone's takes on it so much fun
i also adore how much of the crew is in this most of the animatics i've seen mainly focus on ody and the siren so eurylicus' little thumbs up and then giant smile when he caught the siren are soooo good! it just adds to the tragedy of ody sacrificing them all throughout the saga

Why is Penelope black? Not intending to be racist, I’m just curious. Because a “pretty black female” is usually associated with Calypso?
Your right though about Calypso, I designed Penelope after I had designed Eury, and they’re supposed to be siblings 😂 so I decided to make them the same race 😁

Honestly, I drew Eury, using the singer as a reference, then I realized that Eury and Penelope are siblings…. So I decided to make them look like siblings 😂

@@Gentledragon_art no, Eurylochus is prince of Same (an island) and the husband of Ctimene, Odysseus' sister.
Penelope meanwhile is of Sparta, the niece of Tyndareus, father of Clymnestra and stepfather of Helen.
Eurylochus being brother-in-law of Odysseus is through this marriage to Ctimene, not through blood ties with Penelope.

Why Penelope is black?
Because I drew Eury black to reference to the actor, then I realized that Eury and Penelope are siblings. So I decided to go along with it! 😂
Eury is his brother in law, as in Odysseus’ SISTER’S husband. He and Penelope are def not related??
