Got ours with the Ronin S combo. It is fantastic for tracking movement shots and at the very least spreads the weight of the gimble far more evenly than holding onto it like a monopod. Over time, it prevents fatique setting in especially with the Ronin S and it's added weight. Good solid metal construction and light with the option of the 2 screw mounts, 1 on each arm, you can't go wrong :)
Heck yeah! That's a great combo. Using dual grips definitely helps you carry it for longer periods of time. The Ronin S is just so heavy sometimes! And it really is a very solid metal construction. Thanks for watching
Next time use uneven terrain such as the embankment in the background. Even better, stairs, particularly running up/down stairs. The ultimate stability test.
I've been using the ikan Flex Dual Handle Stabilizer for over a year now and the only difference is that the ikan screws into the bottom instead of sliding around the collar. and yeah no access to all the other features while using these 4th/5th axis gimbals. using 2 hands with reduce fatigue. I do find them useful for heavier set ups. use the crane 2 with a c100. good video. thanks
Very nice. I haven't used the ikan handles, but I imagine they work well! I guess we could add a thumb control remote to the dual handles so we can still use the joystick while on a dual grip setup, that's what I do with the Ronin M. Thanks for watching man!
Marcos Rocha thanks man! Yeah, it’s really nice having dual handles. It does work with my Crane V2 using an adapter, but it attaches to the very bottom rather than in the middle where it’s most stable. Something to keep in mind if it ever makes the top of your list.
There's an image on Amazon I think that shows 2 ways to attach it to the V2, one is with the supplied mount and another is with some sort of insert that goes into the bridge that allows for the clamp to hold a smaller shaft. It doesn't mention where you can get the insert though.
umm, steadicam arm and vest takes the load off of your arms a lot better, but is less maneuverable than this, so it's a trade off. overall stability of the footage is about the same.
With just the ROnin S you get what I get on my RUclips videos, a kind of stutter/ wobble as the gimbal reaches the top of each step. I have just ordered the ScottMAkesStuff 4th axis gimbal which has adjustable bounce. Should be with me in a few weeks. Be interesting to test it out,. I'm looking forward to removing that annoying walking wobble/
Walking in all Weathers yeah, the up and down wobble motion on gimbals is the worst part of using a gimbal. Lemme know how you like the one you just ordered! Hopefully it helps.
@@kezzatube45 it definatly romoves some of the bounce, but not all of it. If you check out this video here: ruclips.net/video/3YJu89VaBNc/видео.html any forward moving shots are done with the Ronin SC & Scotty makes stuff 4th axis.
CoolHdFilms it’s one of the best dual handles I’ve used, but that’s totally up to your preference. I usually like to shoot single grip because it’s light and quick to do, but if I need to fully rig it out, I’ll go dual grip.
I ended up buying this thing but I don’t know how to get the balance for the springs at all..........how do you know how tight or loose to make the springs??? #Help
DW Productions you can flip the handles upside down and have the grips face down instead of up. It also comes with an adapter that allows you to mount the dual grips to a 1/4” 20 on the bottom of your gimbal, but IMO it doesn’t distribute the weight as well on the bottom.
@@chadwin Do you know if this handlebar is more difficult to hold than a traditional straight rod one without the flex/springs. My setup is already pretty heavy so i'm considering this or the other handlebar from the same company, just without the springs.
Yeah, with how good gimbals are these days, especially the Ronin S, you can get smooth footage without much work. Both shots are def. usable. That handles are prob more for newbies who haven't mastered the ninja walk yet.
The Ronin S is an extremely powerful tool indeed. I noticed the biggest benefit of the dual handles when using them for simple dolly-style shots. I wouldn't use it for shots with complicated blocking or even in a run n gun scenario.
Nate Cannon the Ares dual handles clamp right onto my Ronin S and hold tight with no issues. Some of the other gimbals like the Crane V2 need an adapter to clamp tight. What gimbal are you using?
@@chadwin I have a Ronin s and it clamps to the gimble perfectly but the two handles when it slides in and I tighten those clamps it still has wiggle room and they will just fall back out.
Nate Cannon interesting, have you tried sliding the side handles in both directions? There’s one way that the handles hold the weight better than the other way where it doesn’t catch. Also, try contacting DF digital Foto for customer support for better support if it’s a defect.
What do you think is the better working 4th Axis Gimbal of DF? The DH04 or the Ares? The Dh04 is made of plastic so I would prefer the Ares. But on some videos I get the impression that the DH04 is doing a better job. Which one do you recommend. Thx for reply.
Tom Lens I definitely recommend the Ares version. They’re made by the same company, but the Ares is a really nice quality metal build and works pretty well. I haven’t tested the DH04, but the reviews I’ve seen say it’s a cheaper build.
They certainly aren't cheap but the cost has definitely come down! I'd still recommend the Crane V2 $399 or Crane Plus $499. It just depends on the weight of your camera and lenses. What camera are you using?

So you have other videos telling people how to light videos? I think you said that near the end when you and the other guy were standing in the dark.
This was awesome! I have the Crane v2 and I would like to get some handles for it. However, I have a ton of gear on my wish list, so I have to wait =)

Is this the best dual handle in your opinion? Do you prefer this dual handle over the normal single handed use of the ronin s

IMHO, looks like both shots, with/without are pretty usable, but you may save a little time in post for some of the more dynamic shots....

Would this work with a Zhiyun Smooth 4?

Phoenix Music either of those will work great with the Crane V2!
There are mechanical ones that function with weights to counterbalance. Huge PITA to setup but will do if your budget is really tight.
I bet a ready rig would hook into those handles
Yeah, that would definitely be interesting to try out!
a big bonus for those who don't have stable walking movement.
