I'm in my 2nd week now waiting for my Academy jon boat trailer. They said 2-4 weeks...so I'm hopeful. This boat does NOT exist around me or on their website...but it does seem like a great boat for heavy duty fishing. I like how the inside is "finished" with a flat floor and the walls, boxes, etc. I don't NEED a new job boat right now...but I saved this video...it seems like this might be a great boat Subbed to see if you posted more vids fishing out of it. 👊
When aluminum prices come back down to where they were before November of 2020, we should see this model pop back up again. Right now Alumacraft cant manufacture it at an affordable price point due to the high cost of aluminum, and importing it.

I love my tin rig so much it does everything I want and goes everywhere I want and it just works so well which makes it hard to justify selling it and spending all that money on a bass boat.
There's a lot of bass boats you can purchase for the same amount as that Marshrunner. Just depends on where your passions take you on the water. Your boat is pretty bad ass though.

I have a Alum 1542, it's a riveted version but it's all good after 10 years. Honda 15BFD Electric start. Had one loose rivet, which was an easy fix. Wish it was a little wider, but it was only 999.
This thing put's my Alumacraft 1236 look like an oversized Canoe lol. Very cool boat even right out of the Factory, I'm surprised more 'standard' Jon Boat's don't take on this style of setup. The seats are a pain in the butt to step over for sure even in my little 12' boat.
Yeah but your boat is more portable. This thing weighs twice as much. My boats flat floor is made more for hauling in gear. Like what you’d need for duck hunting. But it does make a sweet fishing boat.

I just purchased a KBE 1250-46 Karavan Trailer that says the max width for the boat I can put on it is 47”, I know this is a lot bigger but would that trailer work?

Considering its a tiller I see alot of weight in the back with that set up. I have pretty much the same boat with a 20/25 2 stroke Mercury on it and have my battery weight up front. I like the rubrail.
Cabelas and bass pro have a 1548 and a 1654 grizzly T sportman. Pretty decent pricing for a complete rig. All pre wired with switches. 15' with the 25 merc efi and trailer was around 13.5 k tax title out the door and 16' was around 15k. I have the 1548 and i really like it so far. I think if i would buy this academy boat it would be to put a surface drive mud motor on it and used for only duck hunting and shallow water fishing. Imo
Have you ran it with a full bait tank yet? If so how did it perform? Also, if you get a chance I’d be interested in a video on your tank. Been looking at the same one but on the fence between it and another one.
This was honestly my first time at academy. It was pretty cool, minus all of the social separation stuff. There aren’t many retailers in their space where you can walk out with a boat and trailer.
@@jeremybahm2163 went with the mudskipper. Honestly there's not much left thats mudskipper at this point. And the 22hp preadtor moves a full hunting load at 23mph. Plan on adding float pods.

It's been great! Obviously I wish the boat was bigger and had a larger motor, but it's what I can afford and tow with my volkswagen right now. Still very happy with it. I'm installing seadek so its a little more comfortable and the floor doesn't get so hot in the Florida sun.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yea I went electric start but not by choice. I went to a local dealer an they told me it would be 3 months to get a f25 so I called every dealer within 500 miles an found one about 50 miles away an it wasn't suppose to be electric start but when I got there it was a electric start model so it all worked out for me it was kinda crazy.
Just clamped. I have it on an electric trim plate now which is bolted to the transom, but the motor is still just clamped to the trim plate. It doesn’t move at all
Matt L A lot of them are having problems with welds just coming apart. So yes, they need to be able to fix that under warranty. Wiring is shoddy and has caused batteries to explode before, causing all kinds of damage. All the more reason to have a working warranty.
I live in Broward County and had to drive to the Academy in Kissimmee to pick it up. When they get a boat in stock they also have a trailer for it, so you could potentially just drive up, hook up the boat/trailer, and drive back. I left at 6am and was back by 1pm after it was all said and done.

You can definitely convert it. You can get rod tubes from TH Marine, or just use PVC and mold it using heat. Theres foam under the front deck, so that will need to be carved out when you make your holes inside the locker. But shouldn't cause any issues.
Alumacraft discontinued them for the time being due to the prices of Aluminum skyrocketing. They can't produce this boat and keep it at an affordable price point.
There's a strange correlation between the raw material costs skyrocketing and the date, January 20th, 2021. Not sure what changed there... Anyway, Alumacraft can't obtain aluminum at a price to manufacture this boat and sell it at the price point it belongs. If they were to do it now, you'd be looking at $6000 just for the hull a you see me purchase it in this video. No trailer, no motor, just a 6K floating bathtub.

It says, 5ft 4" in the description on Academy, but in the pics before you put the motor on, it does,nt look that wide, the top portion looks wide. It does not have the alumatrac rail system. It looks like it does, but it’s different in this boat and there are no accessories that work with it.

Just clamped. I have it on an electric trim plate now which is bolted to the transom, but the motor is still just clamped to the trim plate. It doesn’t move at all

For larger water, you should install a splash guard around the engine. I think it's a necessity with a short shaft and with such a weight of boat.
What is the paint code for this boat? I have the same one and want to paint some things to match the boat but dont know the exact color/ paint code.
Honestly I have no idea. Didn't mention it in the owners manual or on the tags in the boat. I'm sure Alumacraft can answer that question.
