  • SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT was created to explain how sometimes similar shapes and sizes of craft can be very different. Changing bottom contours, foils, and even rocker can completely change a comparable board to another. These episodes are to help you decide what board works best in a variety of conditions.
In this particular episode, we dive into the Haley Pin by Trimcraft and the V Bowls by Ryan Lovelace. Both mid-length designs with similar size and outlines, I break down what board does what to help you decide which one works for you. Or in my case maybe they both have a need in your quiver.
Hello World my name is Dave Sincox and I am an avid surfer from the east coast. I started surfing in the early ’90s and have constructed a way to keep time in the water year after year.
Over the years I have had tons of boards. Some I kept for weeks and some still to this day. With all the boards I have had there is one thing that is consistent. My peers' curiosity about what I am surfing and what I think about it. I am asked“ How do you like that fin ” and “ Do you think I would dig it. ” I try to explain in between sets but usually we lose each other in the elements and never finish the conversation.
So with my love of all things surf craft and some help from my friends I decided to start The Surf Craft Union. An online surfboard review to keep my exploration into alternative design fresh, but most importantly to give feedback from my perspective.
Surf Craft Union showcases Fin Chats, Inner Views, 3 For 30, and Same Same But Different with the opportunity to learn about surfboards and alternative surf craft.
