  • In this episode, I review Ryan Lovelace FM . It’s the fastest surfboard in my quiver at this moment. I immediately felt an explosive burst of power after the first pump on my first wave. It quickly releases the tail with full control and it gives you seamless projection down the line. Ryan Lovelace FM is loaded with glide and fun!
    I consider this model as a one board quiver because it covers all conditions that I surf in my backyard which mostly receives gutless windswells combined with onshore/cross shore winds.
    I would recommend Ryan Lovelace FM to anyone who is looking for a transition surfboard from a longboard to a mid length or mid length to a shortboard.
    If you have any questions or suggestions please comment down below.

      Thank you, Zack for watching. You will love it 🤙🏼 Btw, Ryan Lovelace commented recently on my IG and mentioned that the FM should be surfed head high and up to actually get what the design offers😜 Cheers!

    Hi, love your reviews as you review lots of boards that suit the conditions where you surf. Your ability ti relay information is a credit ti you. There are mixed bag feedback on a board that may really suit you. It’s by an Australian shaper Geoff McCoy, it’s the McCoy nugget ( 3 fin or single ) or Astron Zot. ( single fin) a coupe of guys around SanDiego swear by them, you look at them ( big volume, chunky rails) and can’t believe how they go when surfing them. I would love to see you review one of these, you may be well surprised. Sizing is critical though, check it out. Keep up your great work.

      Thank you, Stephen for your feedback. Much appreciated. I will definitely check it out. It might be hard to get one now. Not many boards are in stock. I also heard the prices on boards will go up soon. Cheers!

      The beaver looks fun. It could be a good hybrid between shortboard and middy. If I see one for a good price, I’ll grab it for review🤙🏼

      100%. I purchased this board after chatting with Yuri about it! He is very knowledgeable, and has a similar skillset to mine, so therefore it is super valuable to me.

    Hi. I love your reviews. I find them extremely helpful. Any chance you might look at the Red Baron or anything form the JS line? I've got the OG Monsta Box in Hyfi which I really like. But I'm curious about the Red Baron, particularly for weaker surf. My Monsta Box is best when it's at least 3 foot. I'm looking for something fun for those slightly smaller days.

      @@SkipperSurfReview Thanks for the speedy response. Obviously, that's NOT the JS I want you too look at. But it's all good! Lol. Maybe if you like the Big Baron you'll go down the JS rabbit hole. Thanks again. I'm looking forward to that review. 🤙

    Hi there, within all the Lovelace boards which are the main differences that you found surfing them?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Месяц назад +1

      Hey man! It’s hard to say, they are all different but in general, they are mostly used friendly with good foam up front for easy paddling and catching waves. Hope this helps!

    U need to try a bigger fm. I have a 7’8 that is insane with the true Ames Lovelace set of fins. Nvs sucks bc g10 so stiff.

    How does this board compare to the thick lizzy? Curious if there would be any overlap in my quiver or if the fm would stand on its own?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  2 года назад +2

      They are completely opposite. ThickLizzy is a solid mid length/glider for cruising down the line mostly.. extending your ride and milking the wave LOL. You will need to take time to set up for a turn. It's not as quick as FM which comes with more performance. It's got a shortboard feel when you need it. For instance, if you have 6'5 FM then I would get 7'10" ThickLizzy unless you are very lightweight and then you can go for a smaller ThickLizzy for sure. Hope this helps.

      @@JB-sg4qr anytime! Please let me know how it goes if you end up getting one. My friend has been liking his FM 6’8” that he got custom last summer. He’s been enjoying but it needs more wave. Like if its 1-2 ft surf, he rather bring his keel fish… and use FM when it’s 3ft+ 😁

      @@SkipperSurfReview this is helpful feedback, thanks. There's an FM for sale here, at 7'0". Do you think it'll still be the case (e.g. compared to a Lizzy and smaller twins like the album plasmic), of needing a 3ft+ wave before it works well?
