On the gravel washer you should put a splitter, move the flint to a lava pit to be destroyed and the iron nuggets to the chest. Then make a belt that brings the iron nuggets to the iron bar stamper.
@@sjin Since flint can actually be useful, if you have the storage drawer mod you could use a drawer upgraded with a void upgrade and it'll store up to the limit then void the rest. Could be nice to have like 1k flint on hand but everything else just gets trashed.
Plus I believe in create, or maybe another mod idk, that flint can be used to craft gunpowder which would be great for early tnt with a yet to be creeper farm.
You could build a "Steampowered Jumptastic Instant Network for Item Transfer." SJIN-IT for short. You could connect a funnel to one on the racks in the warehouse and feed items to it via conveyor belt from the side, or a chute/hopper from above. It would involve digging through the structure of the warehouse but that would ensure speedy delivery of your ingots or cobblestone, yet limit the capacity to only the connected rack container. Or you could fling the finished goods to a stash closer to the warehouse, shortening the trip for your couriers. Since the metals nugget factory is higher up, you could use the precision item ejectors to fling finished goods from point to point to end on top of said chute or conveyor belt, in a somewhat Rube-Goldberg contraption-type manner. Each ejector requires rotational power to wind up, so maybe isolated water wheels hidden under the terrain, or maybe small thematic windmills dotted around like streetlights for the town? A standalone power source and ejector design might be a schematic template available somewhere. Just an idea: a central modular (schematic) steam engine power plant building with rotational power transmission lines delivering power to the Point-to-Point finished goods delivery line.
25:00 an item vault is a shared container. your splitting items only to put them back together and then splitting them with chutes, also if you want your funnels to always split correctly you need to put them on forced round robin, means it won't miss and will actually require the output to happen if your using mechanical hands for example; this is perfect for famer's delight recipes and mixers!
I'm really looking forward to seeing the next series of buildings that go up. 😅 On that note: A Composter, a Graveyard, another Builder's hut, and a Barracks would be helpful in a colony like this. And please don't forget that you're going to want a higher level Warehouse or even a second one if your Mining huts are going constantly.
#Sjin a few things. First you will need to widen your corners for trains. They will not take sharp corners. Second your idiots will walk over the train tracks and end themselves. Next had you set up your Create machines from the start and had them slowly running in the background. By now you would have something like a million iron blocks by now. This is why whenever someone does Create plus something else like MineColonies and isn't use to Create and how it works they always forget about it and don't set it up. Because they are use to Minecraft and how it plays normally. Create is literally a completely new game. Look at people like Foxynotail and MrBeardstone and Dejojotheawesome and Batsyvonfangies. They use Create 24/7 and they end up with millions of everything within hours. Not really but you get what I am saying. Doing a simple tree circle with Create would net you so much wood and charcoal. A basic circle food farm you would have ridiculous food. I wish you used Create way more in this series just like you used Ars Nevou in your other series. For those who don't play Create FYI schematic cannons mess up vaults and copper tanks so you will always have to replace them. I really was hoping Skin was going to actually learn Create and really use it. Because he is really smart but he isn't really using Create at all. He finally has done something that is in episode two for most Create RUclipsrs. I love his shows but I am just disappointed he didn't use Create all that much. I mean he doesn't even have a speed controller and is using a gear ratio to speed things up. It is just disappointing on the Create side. Honestly he might as well not use it. I guess it is my fault for getting excited about a new RUclipsr using Create and assuming he would use it like the other people I mentioned and a few others. But he is an old school Minecraft player who thinks of Create as just a minor mod that just augments a few things. When in fact it is literally a different game than Minecraft.
20:19 Look at those 4 vaults above your crushing wheels. Those and the brass funnels feeding into them are entirely extraneous, you can remove them. When the end of a mechanical belt has a chute, basin, depot or hopper (iirc), it will play nice and deposit items directly there, backstopping if appropriate.
U should add a brass funnel on the postbox and set it so that it sends one item at a item so that the courier is not overloaded... I think there is a way to auto request an item from the postbox through create... Also, it's high time u get urself a Rotational Speed Controller from Create... U don't have to do complex cogwheel setups if u have that... Chances of overstressing the system also becomes negligible...
Gonna give you a warning Sjin if you do have a rail system/train be careful the Minecolonies Villagers are stupid and WILL WALK onto the tracks and get themselves murdered with the trains.
You can use an andesite funnel to move the ingots into a stash. Then let the coursers can take it to the warehouse. If they are getting too busy, use a redstone clock to turn the funnels to the stash off for a while and then on again.
You should run another belt parallel to the washing belt to send the nuggets and flint back into the big vault so the iron can be added to the bars in the main chest!
Not sure it would work but if you can use a mail box on a belt to pull out, could you use a shipping mail box to send the spoils to your warehouse. Also you could have a dedicated courier for the grinder building. Just food for thought not sure it would work. Love watching and look forward to every episode.
yeah I've left enough room on all the bends to account for the turns I think so far, the underground segment is more just a loose template for where it's gonna go
@@sjin I was going to say you could implement two 45 degree angles to give the cars time to adjust. I failed to do this and broke not only my mono-rail but my steel works, 13 citizens/guards and my server.

@@swollenaor Ok? Why reply to me with that? I wasn't the one saying to do it lol. Also, I think only certain jobs become faster than the rails like the couriers.
that's a good idea, although I'm not sure I want all of the ores going directly into the warehouse, also the truth is unless I get a lot more couriers this setup is going to keep them from doing important stuff, I'm not sure if you can set the priority for couriers of the stash, I'll have to check next episode
I believe there is a block (called gearshift or something like that) that increase the shaft speed it could come in handy especially it tit spaces , however I like the look of multipcltlv cogs ;)
maybe you can do an automate small minecart train in the air going from the bars chest to a stash next to your warehouse so only 1 courrier will do the small trip from the stash to the warehouse, you can add a timer like the one you are using on the sugarcane farm to a powered rail too so the train its not running all the time, it will look kinda steampunky
For a steampunk colony there is an acute lack of steam belching mechanisms? Im pretty sure you can use create to make massive steampowered boilers that can power your create mechanisms. That would be much more on branch with your Steampunk colony :)
Sjin, I LOVE you and I've been a subscriber for the last 10 years. You need to stop relying on retaining walls and artificially flattened areas if you want to develop your building skills. Use the terrain whenever possible, don't change it to fit your design and your builds wii lbe so much richer

Does create have any elevators or anything for moving items vertically? Could make a long conveyer belt that goes right to under the factory, then either use a stairway or conveyers or that elevator system to move cobble automatically up to the factory.
true, although moving items along that much belt will be a big draw on system resources, I'm probably going to just build a 2nd cobblegen next to the hut to feed in directly
why don't you make a cobble gen in the grinder building? Cut out the courier factor, and make it slow, so it doesn't clog up the belts from Tuff by the couriers
Not to disparage the build, it's very neat to get all this automated, but even 10,000 cobble boils down to just over two stacks of iron ingots. that's 156 stacks to 2 stacks, which seems like a really bad ratio. I don't recall, but hopefully the mailbox requests are constant, and won't vanish after they get the full 10,000? Is there anything better you could be using cobblestone for?
Also man... I wish i could join your discord server... But i can't because i prommised myself that i'll not ever again install discord because that app made me want to die like 4 times. And im not joking

I'm always looking forward to these episodes. Been watching you for years now, you're my happy place Sjin! 😊
Also btw, you can teach the builder to make torches or anything other 2x2 craftable to supply the colony with, planks into sticks, etc.

Craft the flint back into gravel and then rewash it.
Use Cobblestone Walls for dividing Walls inside the Buildings.
And put some Fences around the top where the ladders come out.
You can use an andesite funnel to move the ingots into a stash. Then let the coursers can take it to the warehouse. If they are getting too busy, use a redstone clock to turn the funnels to the stash off for a while and then on again.
You forgot to put the Charcoal in the warehouse.
I did! but I remembered after recording and tossed it in there
You should be sending the iron nuggets back to the big vault to be pressed into bars with the existing setup
Dont forget you also get electrum nugget From tuff 27:47
You should run another belt parallel to the washing belt to send the nuggets and flint back into the big vault so the iron can be added to the bars in the main chest!

you have electrum building up in your vault you might want to trash that as well unless you plan on doing new age
Be warned sir sjin, tight right angles will not work with the train. You might re-plan your tunnels and track spaces or you may break it.

I'd send the flint to the warehouse, so we can make arrows for our colony.

If you put Stashes instead of chests in the ingot creation area the courier will automatically pick them up and bring them to the warehouse

The route you showed is more like a metro route rather than railroad (railway as you say it) at least from what I know
U can make a make-shift cobblegen inside the iron nugget washing setup so that ur couriers are not overworked...
Get more couriers, now...
also also also(moose was sacked) turn cobble into tuff, tuff to ingots. tuff has a better iron drop rate than gravel
