1:24 a cobble gen tip is that you can control which way the broken cobblestone goes when you break it. It goes in the direction of the opposite side you are looking at. So if you mine the cobblestone on the side of the top of the block that's closest to the lava, the broken cobblestone will fly in the direction of the water. It's not a guarantee it's just on average

I did expected one of the create skyblock packs - instead I got to see some really neat vanilla skyblock methods that are far too underrated in the modded community! Thanks for the episode! I'll wait for more :D
As a technical player, you may want to use spawn balance utility to see the spawn tables for each of the biomes you're in. You can just run it once in play separate instance and it will output all the spawn tables for every biome and structure into a report.
Something worth noting, the dilemma of having 1 bucket of water at the start is why I personally think gravity funnel mobfarms are best. Essentially you have spawn platforms that have sequential rings like a tree does, and the rings alternate so the mobs will be able to fall onto the next layer down. Then, using trap doors between each ring you can make the mobs walk between the rings and fall to the next layer, until finally they make it to the drop. There is another version where you take advantage of their pathfinding where you build the farm out of certain blocks that mobs can spawn on but don't like pathing to, and having the only blocks that they prefer to path to be on the other side of a drop with trapdoors. This essentially makes all mobs walk to this trap as soon as they want to move.
A tip, you can bonemeal on water to get more water sources. Place the water with one air block between it and your ground, then bonemeal the ground. It will create seagrass and that block of with the seagrass is now your second water source. From there infinite water 😜
Looking forward to the next episode! Perhaps you can make a steampunk world because of create and make a bunch of air ships because of skyblock. Also it would be sick if you made a floating steampunk castle in the sky kind of like Studio Ghibli style with a steampunk twist.
As for the spawn platform in the nether not spawning anything but the gold farm is working: What biome is the spawn platform in? If it's a soul sand valley, that's likely why, I've never seen piglins spawn on soul sand
Protip: make the spawning platform and spawn room walls out of cobblestone slabs. Not only saves on cobble but the mobs will pathfind to the water almost instantly because they prefer solid blocks.
@@Stam1o Yeah, Martincitopants made a Skyblock video a while back and he talked about it a bit, basically when a mob wanders it can only select a full block as a destination, it can't path to a slab or to stairs, using this info you can make a mob farm that doesn't even need water because the only valid wandering destination is set up so they fall
To deal with spiders in mob farms, I place a sand the second block away from both walls at the corner and a cactus on top. Spiders move into the cactus and die fixing spawns.
To get andesite from quartz and cobble you craft the quarts and cobble together to get diorite then craft that with cobble to get andesite. Btw love the video keep up the work.
The mob farm will work better if you add an open trapdoor over the center water blocks at the same height as the other trapdoors. (anywhere bridging the gap to the other spawn platforms will work but the wall is convenient to place against and looks better for lack of floating blocks. Currently you only have mobs pathing to the water channels, the 4 trapdoors I proposed will allow them to path to the other platforms so they will clear the platforms faster allowing new mobs to spawn faster.

making slabs and slabs and slabs .... easy to make a composter, then let the water falling on full block and bonemeal it makes water sources - much less slabs needed than bridging to nearby island - and ok, you need to sacrifice some crops or saplings - that worth it
when i clicked on this video i was confused why i was subscribed, until i realised i had watched some hardcore stuff from you two years ago, you’ve definitely improved since then! loving this concept, think you’re my favourite to do it so far
Andesite should be: Make gold farm, trade with piglins for quartz, craft diorite with quartz and Cobble, then diorite and Cobble makes andesite. If there's mineable quartz this is easier.
I have discovered from testing; open trapdoors block spiders spawning but not other mobs spawning. You need more of them then the carpet because they are only blocking an edge for the "no 3X3" rule instead of a whole square.
8:28 i believe it wont work as well with the gap in the middle. normally the farm works by having mobs pathfind over the trapdoors, thinking they're a block, and falling in. with a 2 wide gap, they think they can cross to the other side so there are many blocks they can target where they will fall in. with the gap in the middle, they have to specifically pathfind to ontop of the trapdoor as they know they cant reach past it, making it less likely for them to walk over it i think adding more trapdoors in the middle will solve that
12:33 For Mob Farm what you can do is... at the last dropout block you can place Stairs.. in that way you don't have to place those trapdoors and it also helps in terms of Spider because Spider will think it's a full block and stairs will bring them down half a block and in that way they'll end up on Killarea.
Instead of trying to get a witch to throw a potion of weakness (which they're not guaranteed to do) just kill the witches so they drop bottles and sugar, then trade with a wandering trader for a brown mushroom and kill blazes for blaze powder to make a brewing stand then craft a fermented spider eye to brew the potion of weakness and make it a splash potion, it would be probably less painful than dealing with the witch. You could've also just... punched the witch to move it?
That just sounds like taking a simple mechanic of witches to do something. Ignoring it and spending a few hours trying to do the exact same thing just in a far more complicated way
I was gonna try this exact concept with my friend, but we couldn't figure out how we'd get zinc or andesite. Also, by combining quartz with cobblestone, you get diorite, and by combining that with cobblestone, you get andesite
With you using trapdoors as landing floor on the mobfarm.. Wouldnt it have been easier to place a boat under one of them and then let the witch fall down into it by opening the door when shes standing on it ?
tip: combine the gold swords in your inventory to get both the durability+ 5% so you have a use, much better then smelting them for nuggets cuz u can use the swords to get more nuggets then u would from smelting, I got a stack of gold ingots just by using that method only wasting 2 stone swords :). and you can combine 2 gravel with 2 dirt in your inventory to get 4 course dirt which u can make into path/farm block to get more dirt.
Gold swords do less damage than stone swords hence why I use those. And then instead of throwing the swords away smelting them just gets you more gold. A stone sword also isn't that expensive
