Just lost one of my childhood/middle school friends to suicide a week ago. Listening to this song again since the albums release, it has become all the more surreal. Anyone who reads this, don’t give up yet. I have been struggling for a long time with anxiety/depression since my mom died at 8, and my dad got locked up when i was 14. To those who want to listen, life gets better, but you have to want it to be. I have lost other friends too along the way due to mental illness and bad choices. You only get one shot at life, so at least keep moving forward if you can’t do anything else. Peace and love

I mean, as I understand from the lyrics it is about an artist that gained fame being told that they have everything they have and it doesn't matter if they die young since people will remember them anyway and the artist resort to using drugs to forget their loneliness/depression/whatever else they're struggling with. So I guess it makes sense to make the video trippy (which also makes this a bit sad because it shows how lost the artist is)
