Cage the Elephant, to me, is a rare band which has never released any bad music. Sure, I prefer some songs over others, but I've never disliked any of their songs, all of them are great. It's why they're my favorite band.
I'm just saying that number could be higher. I respect this band and want to see them grow since I prefer their music over modern pop, and I'm not saying you don't feel the same way. I hold Cage the Elephant and Twenty-One Pilots (just an example) in equal esteem, so I'd hope the former can reach the popularity of the latter. Granted I could be wrong, as I'm only looking at youtube's numbers. On that note, which band do you think someone would recognize if you asked them on the street. That's what I mean when I say their underrated. Not everyone knows about them, and I feel people should. Do you disagree?
What you're suggesting is more of a personal choice, which is up to the band to make. If they want to grow or stay as they are. I support Cage the Elephant in either choice they make, and hope you choose to do the same. I just want one of my favorite bands to get the appreciation they deserve. This is of course subjective and my opinion.
This has nothing to do with what I said, which was (in short): they may do as they wish with their band, I'll continue to support them. Also, on your topic of them being just about the music, have you even seen the video that this comment section is a part of? A lot of hardwork went into creating the visuals, not just the music. Cage the Elephant may, as you claim, focus on their music on stage, but these videos are batshit crazy, which I love. I believe what you meant was they don't pander to general audiences. I haven't heard of any of the sex on stage shenanigans you mentioned, but I will believe some occasions have happened considering new bands starting out. Your points about them not doing crazy things to draw viewers contradicts with your other argument(again my summarization of what I thought you meant) about how they don't pander to general audiences. One wouldn't be able not attract general audiences and not do crazy things that would attract general audiences. I hope you understand what I'm saying and come to agreement. We both like this band, why should we fight over what they are or aren't because frankly it's not our choice. I bid you farewell, unless you wish to combat me with another argument.
There's so much pain in these lyrics and truth behind them. I think it's so important to be authentic and Cage the Elephant has always been that. I get goosebumps listening to these songs because I feel Matt's pain, he's an amazing artist and performer. He might be inspired by Jagger, but he truly is his own person
Hard to believe Matt is 35. I saw them live 10 years ago right after their first album dropped in the US. A bunch of 20 something kids going crazy on stage. They've all matured and you can hear it in the music. Time flies.
This is gonna sound weird, but I feel like when your listening to the song (with no video) it feels red. It sounds red. The fact that the music video reflects this so wonderfully is so great.
I dont think this sounds weird at all to me this reads as you truly understanding the meaning and words; red theme meaning: lava, fire, the heart ie blood, “her dress was red” there are so many non spoken color themes in this song and it’s beautiful
OMG, I hadn't heard this song for over a year, and now that I looked for it I couldn't remember the name so I was just looking for a song by this band that had a red photo because that's how I thought it was ... And now I see your comment , wow.
The video mainly focuses on the sadness hidden within; as well as the secrets that will someday be spoken, as the same song says so. Matt, slowly trying to say that he will let go; ready to let his anger out, ready to let go down the path of redemption and sorrow and learn to live with his scars as a sign of power and will to be happy yet again, as well as a sign of survivalism from all the emotional terror and fright that every man eventually comes down to. This man is a genius; to show someone like you or me that he has the power to live on and become stronger than his past, much like you and I need to do. Growing stronger than our past. Forever loving Matt and the rest of the Elephant gang. ❤

Well, I disagree. I think the first CTE albums had a punky, indie style. Melophobia was awesome but a bit different from those other two. Finally, Tell me I'm pretty sounded more like The Black Keys. I think this song is different from everything they've ever done, and this album will be total madness. I'm really hoping to hear it.
@@Ubikenaerosol Tell me I'm pretty was produced by TBK, so makes sense. This felt like a mix of Melophobia's qurikiness and Tell Me I'm Pretty's sad tone. The closer we get to that unique, unabashed sound we got on Melophobia, the better.
Isn't it haunting a bit ? Basically, if this song is about Matt's divorce - compare it with "Cigarette daydreams". The CD is a bit upbeat, full of compassion, love and hope, this one is just "come on, we both know it ain't working, let's end it". Like a whole relationship bordered with these two songs. This reminds me of my dad at our last father-daughter school dance. He wore his blue military uniform, and I wore a red dress. I'm a grandma now, and as the sun is quickly setting on my dad's time, he's asked me to spread his ashes. I know I have to let go.
Once I start this song, it's legitimately hard to stop. Such a great band, it hurts that they are criminally underrated. I hope you are all doing well in 2021.
I've been listening to cage the elephant for a while, but all I gotta say is every so often a band and a song comes through at just the right time in your life. This is one of those for me. Go through a horrendously shitty break up, and live the recourse that follows a year later, and this song and the music video makes perfect fucking sense. Hats off to this one boys
Loved this band since I first heard In One Ear and have not been disappointed once on any song I've heard. Cage the Elephant might have become my favorite band without me even realizing it. Mindblown.
Why does every video have to have one person to comment on the number of dislikes. They might be drunk and tapped it accidentally. Or they might be of the weird persuasion that doesn't like watching grainy basement footage of people eating bloody raw ground meat out of a cake.
@@HotdogFiend69 lmao. Pretty sure no one's drunk (I hope) because it's literally kind of a trend and it was my first time actually saying that. This music vid was legit awesome. And it was a perfect time to say it. Soo if you have a problem with this dislike joke well then um.. Toooo..bad
This might be odd but I truly feel as if Cage the Elephant has elevated my life. Ever since I found them a decade ago, I’ve found myself in pits that sometimes simply listening to these guys can drag me out of. This song. This song makes me feel indescribable emotions. One of the best aesthetically pleasing videos I have ever seen, this reminds me of America Horror Story. (which I love) also love the song so much. All in all a pretty good song, 13/10.
Oh my fucking life, I just discovered this son while I was doing some mechanical work on my writing. I'm shocked, this song put me out of the sleepiness and made me shed in tears. It represents a lot of the things I'm emotionally struggling with Venezuela, my country... so much beauty in the people and the places, but also so much destruction, pain, grieving and violence. It hit hard on me... I've never put much attention on this band, but I'm just so shocked that I'm sure that anything I get to listen from them will be of my favorite from now on. God damn I can't even listen to another fucking song, it was so amazing and moving that any sound is just crap next to this.

Imma strike these matches
Never had control
I'm ready to let go, no
Was I feeling myself
Imma spread these ashes
Never had control
I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready to let go
[Chorus]
Don't you worry baby
No sense trying to change it
Imma strike these matches
Never had control
I'm ready to let go, no
Was I feeling myself
Imma spread these ashes
Never had control
I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready to let go
The piano in the back at 1:50 is beautiful
This reminds me of my dad at our last father-daughter school dance. He wore his blue military uniform, and I wore a red dress. I'm a grandma now, and as the sun is quickly setting on my dad's time, he's asked me to spread his ashes. I know I have to let go.
MY SKIN: CLEARED
MY SOUL: PURIFIED
MY EARS: BLESSED
paulahiddles Hotel: Trivago
Sure they are 😂tell that crap to jesus when you meet him..see how that goes dummy😂
@@brightdaysarehere3094 I think the man died a couple thousand years ago.
MY EYES: VIOLATED
After going through a difficult marriage breakup myself this year, this song has carved a space in my heart and soul.
🤗
Don't you worry baby, no sense tryna change it!
Me toooo!!
Once I start this song, it's legitimately hard to stop. Such a great band, it hurts that they are criminally underrated. I hope you are all doing well in 2021.
Yes the other songs on this album like dance dance and Tokyo smoke are so underrated
Anyone in 2010
2024 ❤️
I've been listening to cage the elephant for a while, but all I gotta say is every so often a band and a song comes through at just the right time in your life. This is one of those for me. Go through a horrendously shitty break up, and live the recourse that follows a year later, and this song and the music video makes perfect fucking sense. Hats off to this one boys
That bass line though! I can’t wait to see the band later this month. Going with my daughter who is also very much into Cage the Elephant..
I hope you have fun and wholesome family bonding
Good catch! The bass line is amazing ❤️
rly digging the A Clockwork Orange vibes & Stanley Kubrick esque themes & visuals :7
YES!
First thing I thought of
Still one of the greatest songs by cage. Saw them live at red rocks this year. Absolutely amazing
This was the song playing when I found my son....he died of substance
Loved this band since I first heard In One Ear and have not been disappointed once on any song I've heard. Cage the Elephant might have become my favorite band without me even realizing it. Mindblown.
This new album is gonna DE-STROY. Can't wait!!!!
Those 13 dislikes are people who weren't ready
they just gotta let go
jajajajjaj good
Why does every video have to have one person to comment on the number of dislikes.
Toooo..bad
Yeah not ready for their Satanism and cannibalism they promote on the video, another sell out I'd bet
The first few second to The Cyrkle's song There's a fire in the fireplace kinda reminds me of how this song starts
Had to watch it twice to fully process it but wow what a amazing song and piece of art this is !!
Cage the elephant: Too late to say goobye
Also Cage the elephant: Ready to let go
lol
that it what I call a progress
You must have an artistic view of life
They’re progressing
Next album: Looking straight ahead
0:10 when you're the new kid and you walk into your class for the first time
_carmen_ That’s exactly what I first thought
True
I really felt that😂😂😂
Yeah I really hate when the teacher breaks out singing
Yeah then the teacher starts going Cage The Elephant - Ready To Let Go (Official Video) yep can relate
This might be odd but I truly feel as if Cage the Elephant has elevated my life. Ever since I found them a decade ago, I’ve found myself in pits that sometimes simply listening to these guys can drag me out of.
This song. This song makes me feel indescribable emotions.
Drop the fucking album cage
With that
Is it just me or does anyone else just feel that guitar solo at 2:27 in their soul
Waiting for the guy with lyrics even if i already love the song
i put the lyrics up haha :)
@@itsjust_avery thank you ❤
Never heard of ´em before - now I´m listening to ´em every day. There´s still some hope that real music´s coming back. Thank you.
Does not get much better than this
Que buen gusto musical tienen los brasileños, muchos de los comentarios son de ellos 💖

Hey ✌️!!!
Yo 😅❤️😁
I LOVE THIS SONG MORE THAN ANYTHING
SAMEEE
You deserve every Grammy you get for Social cues. Phenomenal album.
i can’t tell if this was extremely symbolic or just directed with the idea of absolute chaos. doesn’t matter, i still love it
this Grammy award winning rock band is going to rock
Totally worth waking up at 5am for
Exactly
Ikr...5AM, California West coast.
Washington aha what up california
Know what else is worth waking up for...or at least watching 2 minutes of?? MY REACTION VIDEO to this song!!! If you care to check it out, that would mean a lot.
Anyone else thinks Matt looks 10x hotter than before?
Angela 000 and his style definitely got WAY better. I still remember when he wore just t-shirts and jeans.
The dude is getting older, he’s not a shmuck anymore lol he’s been through shit obviously
sis, divorce did wonders for that glow.. 😍
oh yes
Such a well made song
One of the best aesthetically pleasing videos I have ever seen, this reminds me of America Horror Story. (which I love) also love the song so much. All in all a pretty good song, 13/10.
which episode of american horror story is this
The best📿
HA😂
is more like Stanley Kubrick style.
Season 2
The scariest one of all; matrimony.
NEW CAGE LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO
I don’t understand how this isn’t bigger. SMH I really love them.
This song and few others are really here for me in the moment going through my own divorce and I'm really thankful and grateful that this is here.
You are not alone man
This band will go down as one of the best to ever do it
I LOVED IT!!!!!!! u never let me down
Great analogy in a message to a kick ass song ❤
People who don't like this song are obviously not ready to let go
Oh my fucking life, I just discovered this son while I was doing some mechanical work on my writing.
Não faz muito tempo que conheci Cage the elephant, mas já posso dizer que AMO demais.
Meus parabéns por tudo que vocês fazem e que consigam cada vez surpreender mais pessoas assim como eu.
I spent hours listening to this song and have finally figured out when it gets old...Never.
We trully never will know when it''s our time, then we should be *_Ready to Let Go_* at any moment, simply like that!
