    OEM Genuine delivered this new machine in perfect new condition with the promised 32 GB of RAM. GNU/Linux nerds love Lenovo Thinkpads JustU.Faith/Think-PadP and this machine is no exception. The upgraded 32 GB of RAM is definitely detected, and I experienced zero compatibility problems installing the latest Ubuntu 16.04 on it (with proprietary Wi-Fi drivers).

    I absolutely love my P52. I had to put Linux on it, and the PopOS from System76 works beautifully on mine. I can edit and render 4k smooth as silk. This thing goes in the truck all day every day with me and it still looks brand new.

      Any thermal issue? if yes, what did you do to reduce the temp?

      Thinking about picking one up to be a Linux workstation as well. Glad to hear it's working well for you.

    Nice review. I've just ordered one but I went with the FHD display because it is nice to be able to use the laptop away from the power outlet occasionally. Have also gone with the P3200 GPU as well and really looking forward to it. Going to be a nice upgrade from my P50.

    When IBM owned the thinkpad brand the Thinkpads were cutting edge laptops. I remember they made the cases out of titanium. Amazing machines. Literally bulletproof.

    Thanks for the review! Please change the lights, or angle they keep interfering with the auto focus of the camera.

    had a Lenovo p52 laptop, but it was stolen from my car, I love that laptop is very fast and powerful. I do not know if I could trace it back, I'm losing hope

      I am truly still a beginner at networking... But try to connect to it via SSH if you remember the IP. I don't think Windows has a client but if you were running Linux or any Unix based OS it should. Good luck!

    what about the rubberized lid? I've seen a lot of devices with this kind of surface - they transubstantiates into a sticky/gluey matter after several years

    Thank you, Rich. If you had the choice, would you prefer the P52 or the P72 for your own use?

    Hi, I am considering to buy this laptop in 2023, using for moving 4 monitors 4k at same time? Does it gonna be able to move them?? Not for w
    Gaming only for graphics....or there are better options now for 600$?

    Don't ever buy RAM/SSD upgrades from lenovo, you're getting ripped off. Even though you need to buy a caddy for SSDs in these things, it's still way cheaper to upgrade yourself.

      I ordered a P52 with a spinner hard disk to get the caddy and SATA cable. It's a special cable! Check Thinkpad forums for more info.

    Leave the battery out. Save it for when you need it. Improves cooling too.

      Imagine working on a project and accidentally ripping the cable out...Doesn't sound like a lot of fun

      My battery serves as a UPS. Outages are common where I live.

    Great video! I am planning to buy this lenovo p52 but is it usb c can connect with wacom cintiq pen display (kinda like external monitor)?

    • @renzoleturia331
      @renzoleturia331 5 лет назад

      For knowing the number of external displays that it is supported you should review the kind of graphic card it is using. If it is using a NVDIA, usually supports more the 4 external display and also NVDIA es dedicated graphic card so your memory ram won't be used by the graphic card during the time of using which is great

      Ah you also need verify the number of ports you will require and contrast with the kindness of ports you will get with the laptop. Remember that small letters on Lenovo web says they can change the features so you must verify the laptop you are going to buy has all the specs you are interested in

      I bought mine with the spinner hard disk to get the drive caddy and special cable so you can use that drive slot for SSD upgrades.

      I purchased mine directly through Lenovo, They are not cheep . Expect to pay around $1800 depending on the other things like size of the ssd. I had mine for about 6 months . It is a tank and keeps on beating. It runs 24 hours 7 days a week . .

    Oh for god’s sake not again. I can’t stand the offset keyboard at all. I know they’re supposed to be for number crunching but the ergonomics of my W530 are near perfect. I wish they just made a no-numpad version of this. Highly unlikely though.

      numpad is essentially for productivity, non-numpad is for aesthetic.

    Display appears "washed out" compared to better PCs. More importantly, if you turn on Mobile Hotspot mode, and try to connect with a Samsung J337 (so the 2018 J3) it will fail. ...and then there's Lenovo service! ...have fun with that : )

    • @Cenot4ph
      @Cenot4ph 5 лет назад +2

      ? I'm not sure where you're getting your info from but nothing in this is based on truth. Lenovo has the better mobile displays these days, it's not like the old TN panel days. Second, their service is still one of the best in the business even if it fails now and then. Other manufacturers have the same issues there.

    Windows 10 sucks a lot! I own a thinkpad and use Linux on it.
