@@sittingbull7445 American is a nationality, not a race or ethnicity. At least 30% of the population is non-white , so how could someone "look American" ?
It’s so incredibly stupid because the “-o” morpheme can indicate a neuter word in Spanish, and explicitly NOT a masculine word. For example: Don’t think about the crisis (it). = No pienses en la crisis. (No pienses en ella.) Don’t think about the problem (it). = No pienses en el problema. (No pienses en él.) Don’t think about it (in general) = No pienses en ello. The “-o” morpheme in that case is ONLY neuter and NOT masculine.
Toughnut I can tell the difference between Americans and non-Americans. Pretty easy to tell the difference between a lot of white Americans, white Brits, white Slavs. Skull, face shape, nose, skin tone...you take on different characteristics of the people & cultures around you. Even the younger generation of brown people around me is looking more physically "American".
Tom is right, Spanish is waaaay harder than a lot of people think, usually people from the U.S think mexican spanish applies to every spanish speaking country, but that's not the case, slang in every country is so different that could be considered a complete new language, for example, Mexican spanish and Argentinian spanish are extremely different, you can learn mexican spanish and go to Argentina and they won't understand most of the things you are trying to say, same applies with Spain spanish, Colombian spanish, Venenzuelan spanish, and so on. There's something called ''neutral spanish'' but that only applies to movies, tv series, or anything media related, that's an unique type of spanish, no country speaks that type of spanish but all of them understand it, Spanish can be weird.
Haha same thing happened to me that happened to segura with coher. Having a dad from Spain/living in Malaga part of the year…I’ve only learned Spain Spanish…so when I ordered food in Dominican everyone had a good laugh when I asked to “fuck a beer, fuck a steak, and you know what, I think I wanna fuck a salad as well” Also in Spain “tranquilo” is kind of used in a “chill the fuck out!” Context whereas in Colombia it means “all good”….I was very confused that everyone thought I had an attitude down there hah

As a actual Latino I like most Latinos and Latinas reject this Latinx completely! Funny that it is not even a Latin person who invented this nonsense and Tom Segura Is a very educated guy and everything he said was spot on
Imagine if Eddie Guerrero was Latinx Heat instead of Latino Heat
"No me jodas" is the same in Spain as in Peru. It's like: come on man, give me a break!
While "joder" you say it when you get real angry or it's just something that is out of normality.
And about " coger" in Argentina, Uruguay, etc. They all know that in some other countries is used as "agarra", from movies or series.
It's not a big deal right now.
Spanish is one of the most beautiful languages out there.
Joe's initial reaction was me. Lol "they can fuck off". 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, this LatinX shit just ain’t happening no matter how hard hipsters and woke social media tries.
Que Viva el Perú Carajo!!!! 🇵🇪
@Eric Gregory No it isn't huevon!
Bruh so cringe, even as a peruvian 😂
If you want to refer to YOURSELF as "latinx" okay sure. My problem is that people want to use it as a default for any group of Hispanic people. "Latinx conference", "Latinx people" (referring to people as a whole).
No.
I am from Puerto Rico and we DETEST THE TERM LATINX.
Whenever I have trouble using the toilet, I take two pills of LatinX. Loosens my stool and I feel great after.
Designed specifically to counteract Spanish cuisine-induced indigestion
Pairs well with chipotle-away
I'm gonna adopt a white baby one day
I dont know why but thats funny
That has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand but okay.
tons of babies need to be adopted!
Those go quick my guy! Everyone wants one.
I got you. How many you need?
Why can't someone just come out and say dead ass; "That's fucking stupid I''m not saying that."
Joe "I listen to Spanish music when I write" Rogan
"Latinx" is very un-idiomatic for Spanish speakers. We would never replace a vowel with an X. Considering that being latino is not a race, but a cultural inheritance, going against Spanish language should be considered very offensive (not that I care, but it shows how absurd all these things are)
When people find out every word in Latin has a gender.
"Latin is sexist" lol
I minored in Mandarin and am currently teaching English in China. I have impressed a ton of people and my students with how much I already know, but I’m definitely not fluent yet. It’s such a complicated language and the characters really are killer.
How’s that working for ya? Did you make it big as an English speaker?
These "WOKE" people need to leave my language and culture alone if they're really about respecting peoples identities then leave our culture alone.
Latin or latin x is gender neutral. No one is obligating you to use to but it’s valid and in no way taking your identity away from you.
@@tomsanchez7556 its about the respect to our culture and language. To the culture and language of all Hispanics. We don't need nor want a new gender neutral word to identify who we are as a people, just for some snowflakes who get easily offended just because they can't figure out what they are. Just respect our customs and shut up about it. We are all proud to be Latinos and to call ourselves Latinos. So get that disrespect to our culture the fuck out of here.
@@dariocarrillo9726 you realize latinos are not monolithic?Im pretty sure no group of people are.You call people snowflakes yet you’re offended over a fucking word??Seriously?
@@dariocarrillo9726 LMAO TALK ABOUT EASILY OFFENDED
@@dariocarrillo9726 It's not "your language". It was invented by white people in Spain. It's European, just like French and German.
As a Dominican, as a latino, I’m still not gonna say latinx
I thought LatinX was like some Mexican Version of SpaceX...
His last name is Segura lmao
Eric Andrade joe lives in a bubble

I am a Colombian, please do not call me a latinx. And sure as hell do not call me Colombianx.
Latinx sounds like if the xmen were from mexico
I've seen Latin@ online lmao
XoXo X hell at least that’s creative lol
Cheat code if you don't identify. Latinas, latinos, latin@ either way we can all coexist
The @ has been used for decades in Spanish writing to be gender neutral, and its okay. You just read it in your mind as you please. But going from that to actually changing a word and its speaking usage its just ridiculous
decades? i doubt that. first citation is seen in 2009 on wikipedia and the real academia rejected it

"you look so American"
😳
the entire western hemisphere looks "american"
Would you have a problem if someone said a Japanese person looks Japanese? I doubt it. He was simply making an observation based on the fact that a large majority of Americans are white.
@@sittingbull7445 American is a nationality, not a race or ethnicity.
At least 30% of the population is non-white , so how could someone "look American" ?
@@alecmcintire9838 that's around 30 million people.
How the fuck do only white people look " American"?
This is a stupid argument
Real Americans are burgundy skin heard of native Americans 😂😂🤦♂️💀
Latinx sounds like a Spanish mortal kombat character
It’s so incredibly stupid because the “-o” morpheme can indicate a neuter word in Spanish, and explicitly NOT a masculine word. For example:
Don’t think about the crisis (it). = No pienses en la crisis. (No pienses en ella.)
Don’t think about the problem (it). = No pienses en el problema. (No pienses en él.)
Don’t think about it (in general) = No pienses en ello.
The “-o” morpheme in that case is ONLY neuter and NOT masculine.
Joe says that Tom Segura looks American.
@Brandon S how about giving us a non tiny black and white picture
He does, he looks like the average US American: big, hairy and pale. Not like the typical Spanish speaker.
The basic grammar is basically the same. The only actual significant difference is the vos
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a person accept the word Latinx, let alone use it outside of RUclips. I’ve never heard it in person. It’s stupid.
Haha same thing happened to me that happened to segura with coher. Having a dad from Spain/living in Malaga part of the year…I’ve only learned Spain Spanish…so when I ordered food in Dominican everyone had a good laugh when I asked to “fuck a beer, fuck a steak, and you know what, I think I wanna fuck a salad as well”
Also in Spain “tranquilo” is kind of used in a “chill the fuck out!” Context whereas in Colombia it means “all good”….I was very confused that everyone thought I had an attitude down there hah
