In my opinion, the humans look more like how they would appear in your style, kind of like fan art, if that makes sense, rather than fully redesigned. That being said, I absolutely loved the redesigns of the dragons!
Food for thought: in the original book toothless was a tiny puny dragon. When a large animal evolves to live in a cave it typically gets smaller. What if nighfuries, over time, became smaller, and looked more like the dragon from the book. maybe more house cat looking than lizard though.
I really like your ideas for this pilot, a good pilot always needs to introduce the characters as well as show small hints of worldbuilding (examples: MLP and Lego Ninjago) and you hit that nail on the head! You made me wish this was an actual show. The art is also phenomenal, your art style is very cozy and adds to the vibe of the pilot.

I have an idea for a story for one ore several Episodes. The friend groop at some point figures out that Sparky is inbred. This is also the reason why there is still so much black color 3000 years later. And since the night lights lives under the ground there don't have any lightning to turn invisible. So the light furys outcasted them, only accepting Nightlights with a lot of white coloring since these can still turn invisible. This is the reason why Sparky realy wants to find his family and them beeing outcasted leads to only more inbreeding and health issues.
@StoryBird2 pretty sure he got the pug treatment. Because, side by side, Thunder's head is shorter and fatter than toothless and the lightfury. Somis his overall build too.
I think Alex' dragon should be a mystery class dragon since night and light furies are strike class and it would give all the kids a dragon from a different class
As someone who loves drawing dragons I really love these redesigns!! The only thing that’s kinda bothering me is that the colors of the Skyswimmer and Camilia are a little too similar. But still, really great job with this. 👍
I actually really like the idea of having people sometimes ride the last dragon (I forgot their name), since having just one could unbalance the dragon, even if the person is riding on their back and not their necks like ruffnut and tuffnut did in the past. I can imagine the dragon being quite clumsy in flight whenever only one person is riding them because of this.
Yeah! It's why I could make Tina (D'Angelo's dragon) not fly, that way when D'Angelo DOES have to explore he can join Jun on her dragon. (They are both acquainted at the start of my version too so they already get along)

I'd strongly disagree,while your color scheme feels neater, im pretty sure their entire deal is yin and yang (opposites,yada yada, I can't remember what culture it stems from),so making them both the same color sorta softens the theme,also makes them harder to distinguish while moving in certain scenarios,but we had Barf and Belch,so that's irrelevant. But still a really cool video :D
There’s actually this other show I used to watch when I was 9 or 8 it was also a spin off of HTTYDs called rescue riders, it’s basically about these 2 kids who’s ship was destroyed but a mother dragon saved them and took care of them with their 4 other baby dragons, at the start of the show they save the chief of a island and basically move to the island and go on adventures and help the people on the island. Also they can speak dragon because they were raised by one
Yeah that's a great idea. The sky torcher could be a mother looking for a home for her children or somewhere to lay eggs. There could be other grown up flamethrowers and you could write it as flamethrowers being momma's boys like orangutans. Maybe the reason she's so desperate or agressive for territory is that she's had several unsuccesful clutches that died from predators, make it like she feels like a bad mother. She maybe she could be a titanwing or thats's normal for sky torchers Maybe females are the bigger in their species. Could be cool
@ Lego Ninjago is a franchise by the Lego Group. It might still be running but I am referring to the original Four Dragons from the Mini Series before the first season and the Morrow Ghost Dragon. There are a ton of cool dragons in the cartoon series (a lot of it is on Netflix) The original four are the ones I think would be the best to adapt but I could be wrong.

I feel like the only real thing I hate about the show is that it doesn't take place with hiccups kids that we see at the end the last how to train your dragon movie I think that's really my only problem with the whole entire show and also takes place decades in the future
Ddddude as a Canadian we go out in T-shirts in -15C they likely are just used to it, also love the design, :D though yea they are in some pretty icey biomes.. but I’m unsure, I do like there clothing though!:D Love the dragon designs tho I miss the white on thunder’s snout lol this sounds like such a grumpy comment and I’m really not intending for that at all 😭
To be honest i love it but when you to the relationship oh the main character and hiccup i was like no that was the best part of the show for me that the only reason i watch it in the first place
This is INFINETLY better than the original, I love your art style, and I loved and still do love the original dragons series (Defenders, riders and race to the edge) I can't, no I REFUSE to believe that nine realms is canon >:C It wrecks SO MANY things in the movies and shows, I think the only thing I liked about nine realms is that they referenced Dagur (I LOVE DAGUR) But the style of the show is pretty ugly, I hate the dragons looks, if they keeps the race to the edge designs it would have been better. I LOVE Sparky's design, particularly the face. Also is anybody else SO ANGRY that they had Hiccup and his family move to the hidden world? IT RUINS THE THIRD MOVIE AAAH.
Yeah the Nine Realms can be frustrating so that's why I removed any commection to the og series. The idea of finding dragons in the modern world can be so fun! That's the main reason I wanted to do my own take on this show :)
Thunder is, is not Nightfury he's a Nightlight a hybrid of the Nightfury and Lightfury, Toothless was the last Nightfury and after meeting the Lightfury which I call Luna which was a Lightfury they had kids and those where the first Nightlights to be born although the Nightfury are long gone Toothless will be forever because of the Nightlights race. Plus, for Plowhorn you could gone with something close to a Rumblehorn dragon while still having the crystals in its design

This is actually a really good idea, and it makes a lot of sense.
I always hated the fact that Thunder doesn't even have the same build as neither A nightfury or a lightfury, and it obviously isn't a mix build
