Lambert & Stamp Official Trailer 1 (2015) - Documentary HD
Aspiring filmmakers Chris Stamp and Kit Lambert set out to find a subject for their underground movie, one that will reflect the way it feels to be young and dissatisfied in postwar London. This unlikely partnership of two men from vastly different backgrounds was inspired by the burgeoning youth culture of the early 1960s. Lambert and Stamp searched for months and finally found in a band called the High Numbers a rebellious restlessness that was just what they were looking for. Abandoning their plans to make a film, they instead decided to mentor and manage this group, which evolved into the iconic band known as the Who. The result was rock 'n' roll history.

FANtaStiC doc on the integral part Kit Lambert & Chris Stamp played in the glory days of The Who. I've seen all the different docs on The Who multiple times and this one is truly exceptional. Wonderfully directed and edited. You won't be disappointed if you're a true fan. A great counterpart to "The Kids Are Alright" in many ways.

I loved the Who when I was a teenager in the '60s, and still do. But I hated the guitar smashing, it was total bullshit. Lots of kids with no money who couldn't afford guitars couldn't understand why anyone would destroy such a beautiful instrument. It was totally ridiculous nonsense designed to create publicity. The Who didn't need to do that because they were one of the greatest bands of all time on a level with the Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, and everyone else who never smashed their valuable instruments.
