You never saw them with Moon. IOW, you never saw the Who.
"Top band of the mod movement" you say. Seriously? You believe that to be the case? You very obviously were never around back then.
!! Had no clue I could hear him narrate it! Thank you! I have the book and read it with my inner Pete voice, not quite the same 😅
Awesome, will do!
ermmmmmmmmmm, there's a pretty big elephant shaped hole in this video.
Not sure Pete should be using Google with his history.
Do you still have your laptop?
Flawless pronunciation, reminds me of the audio tracks from my English book haha Love The Who, Love Pete
One of my best days working The Who and Clash @ L.A. coliseum for the Rent a fence co. I have some nice pix of the Clash backstage and one I took onstage is an exact copy of one on the Shea Stadium album. Only a couple of the Who Pete pointed at me when I pointed my tiny old camera his way, it had film like a cassette tape. We were in Las Vegas the night John Passed. Tribute that day at HRH was touching.
“get the best seats” haha. I saw them in Mountain View 20 years ago. The front row seats were filled with Silicon Valley execs in formal wear, who SAT through the first few songs. The real fans were in the cheap seats at the back. So Pete stopped the show and literally cussed out the people in the front row. He said, “Who comes to a Who concert, takes the best seats, and sits?” Well they stood up, awkwardly I might add, for the rest of the show. The people in the back went nuts. That’s where the true fans were.
That Erm......Book or Documentary you were researching ONLINE never did come out did it Pete.....Strange that.........🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
His book came out in 2012. Wake up.
it came out 10 years ago
Great Iv'e been waiting for Pete Townshend to do something like this since I saw they already had one of these videos for Paul McCartney.
Always charming, always witty, always insightful. Pete has never given a dull interview
This a fraud video. We all know what the most "Googled" question about Townshend would be. And it's being ignored.
What it would be?
@@thomaskennedy5728 Umm...May be something about his "interests" other then music.....
Nice to see Pete mention Detroit which back then was the centre of the universe for music :) Peace
That science thing didnt age well
Old pete wont answer the dreaded question though thats for sure! Luckily hes got more friends in high places than poor old GG
So nobody is going say it ? Me neither .
What? Nobody asked him about being arrested for his 'research' into child abuse?
He seems to want to talk a lot these days. opening up like he never used to
He was always a talker. Listen to some early interviews; he's always giving self-aware, introspective, philosophical, long-winded answers.
Just like Kevin Spacey
@mustafawee because he knows people are still thinking he did wrong

I have been listening to THE WHO since the 60s. And I will die listening to the greatest rock band ever THE WHO. PETE TOWNSHEND MUSICAL GENIUS nothing more to be said.
Apart from what he is really known for nowadays. Has your head been in the sand?
I bet a lot of his questions were skipped. Just sayin'.
"Is Pete Townshend Into kids?"
No but micheal jackson was,in his bed.

He still looks and sounds amazing. Very well-spoken and intelligent. A master of songcraft.

I love Pete Townshend! He's always been my favorite
Mr Townshend it was great to see you in the curry house . I actually said to myself , it can't be must be a look a like .
If I could ask Pete Townshend something would be "What was 1969 Woodstock like"
He talks about that in other places. Some things he says - they didn't really want to play, but did. It was muddy. It made them super famous.
In "The Kids are Alright" he said that he hated it.

I have a feeling there may be other questions about Peter, but of course we're not going into that here . . .
What a funny guy, happy he's enjoying it all. Thanks Pete.
Pete is always a great interview. He's so honest and open with a keen wit about him.
If I could have asked, why did P.T allow the back catalog to become a total marketing sphield of post-Moon humous "Best Of's". The Stones have a wide ranging catalog but you don't see them recycling every inch of recordings into a blizzard of mundane marketing slices for royalties...hasn't Pete earned enough?

So glad I was born at a time when I was able to grow up listening to The Who and Pete Townshend' s music. Seems like the Guitar Hero is becoming a thing of the past and that's a shame.
I want someone to ask him "was it really for "research" "

They're Carrying weapons.
I damaged my hearing listening to the awful Google intro and sound effects, with headphones on.
I saw The Who on their very first appearance on Ready Steady Go! (January 1965) and I've been a fan ever since. The first time I saw them live (November 1965) it cost me 7 shillings and sixpence (37p in today's money) and I was about 6 feet away from them. The most recent time it cost me £150 ($200) and I was much further away but still worth every penny. They are my favourite band of all time. Look forward to seeing them in 2020.
Where did you see them in 1965?
