Brian is a doctor, a CBE, musician and he helps hedgehogs other wildlife in the UK like foxes and badgers. That personally makes me want to meet him more. If I could I would want to meet some of the hedgehogs he’s helped rescue from his garden in surrey. He’s such a sweetheart and humble man!

Literally this interview could go on and on for hours and I wouldn't complain about it for a second. I love hearing him talk so much, the way he expresses himself, his voice, his body language. He's truly a real gentleman and the most sweet, kind musician ever❤️❤️❤️

I love Brian's music but I think my favourite thing about him is how he went back to University and studied and worked for his doctorate. Having seen so many celebrities and pseudo-celebrities scoop faux 'honourary' awards, to see someone like Brian put in the graft essential to earn such a luxurious title is great to see!
Apart from everything else, I really appreciate how Brian just says things how they are: He tells us about all his great accomplishments, the PhD, CBE, etc. and how he's proud of them in an honest way, without bragging but also without this annoying, all-too-common fake humbleness.
Brian May is a man of many talents but his guitar work with Queen is simply awesome. I didn’t know until very recently watching Queen’s live performance of “Save Me” in Montreal that Brian can play the piano also. Musical genius!
I admire that Brian may has kept the same hairstyle for most of his life. He’s aged into it gracefully and he has the appearance of a renaissance era scientist like issac newton. Very fitting given his acomplishments

My dad is an amateur astronomer and, knowing I'm a lifelong rock fan, was VERY excited to tell me that an astrophysicist he follows is also a rock guitarist! I said, "Brian May?" and he said, "oh you know him?". Yep dad, I know him lol

I'll have to check out that solo album with Cozy Powell playing. I really like what he contributed to the Emerson Lake & Powell album.
Brian made 2 solo albums in the 90's. In my opinion, the 2nd one is better... They both rock.
Cozy Powell plays on both solo records, and Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters plays on one song as well.

Every time I hear the name, "Brian", I cannot help but recall the theme song from Monty Python's "Life of Brian". It gives me a chuckle and I hope it does you too. Brian May is absolutely one of the greatest rock guitarists ever to grace a stage.

May would play Stairway in his sleep. Page would not manage to play the entire BoRhap solo properly.

His playing was, although quite eloquent with strange and rare tunings and scales - a bit sloppy and strictly rock & blues with a little bit of folk thrown in. May plays rock, too. But is capable of using his guitar as a whole orchestra. His songwriting skills are awesome and complex. His solos often resemble classical violin playing rather than mere rock guitar. I love both but May for me is the brilliant master of almost any musical style. He serves the song, the band, the concept. Page is too absorbed by himself.
@@lefreeek You are entitled to your opinion + I agree with your thoughts on Brian May's guitar style, but going as far as to say Page couldn't play something Brian Wrote i disagree on, + comparing Jimmy as too absorbed is kind of ironic because I think they both are, however if I was to choose them as people apart from the music, i'd have to go with Jimmy Page because of Brian May's juvenile belittling comment " Fruitcakes," regarding the sided Pandemic division in people, also reflecting on Eric Claptons injection mishap written in a song.

When I saw Bohemian Rhapsody, I was amazed at how well they had recreated Brian May's voice. I remember commenting on it to the people I was watching it with. Now I have heard Brian May say that even his children couldn't tell the difference between the actor and their own father. That's pretty impressive.

I'm pretty sure they just grabbed the actual Brian May out of a time machine when he was younger.
Rami Malek was phenomenal as Freddie, and next to him was the actual Brian.

This guy is about the coolest guy ever. Pretty sure he would be a very easy guy to talk to and very down to earth.
A friend of mine bumped into Brian and Roger in the lobby of the Cleveland hotel they were staying in on their Hot Space tour. She said both guys were really open and friendly.
I met him and Roger when I was working on a particular leg of a tour Queen we’re doing. Bumped into them backstage and started to speak. They stopped and seemed to genuinely want to chat to me snd make me feel welcome, but I completely froze and went blank so they moved on. Kick myself over that, to this day.
We had a long chat with him after the press premier of WWRY and he was lovely and down to earth... Roger went to the bar!
My uncle who works at a museum gave him a tour once, pretty awesome
he also made every song cooler...like the corniest 80s Queen song is still awesome cause halfway through Brian would come on and just rip it and everything is ok again lol
He definitely should be knighted, done far more than some that have received that honour.

Brian has yet to be knighted so referring to him as Sir is inappropriate. Dr. May is appropriate as he has earned his PhD in astrophysics.

Personally, I thought Gwilym Lee stole the show. I thought he got BM's mannerisms absolutely spot on.
I remember thinking at the time that if you played me audio of Gwilym and Brian saying the same thing in the same way, I would struggle to differentiate between the two. When even Brian's kids can't, well what can you say to that? Uncanny performance.
Personally I think freddie was poorly casted. He looks nothing like him imo. Gwilym was perfect
@@butter2221 He brought the right vibe to the part, but the appearance disconnect wasn't something it was easy to let go of. Freddy had such a 'just so' face, it would be hard to match his actual appearance.

In fairness Freddie didn't live in the UK until he was 18. Queen formed 5 years after his family moved to the UK so they must have met fairly quickly after him moving here

Being forced to leave a country by definition makes you a refugee, it doesn't matter if you are independently wealthy or have legal rights to be elsewhere if you leave because you were forced to by matters outwith your control then you are refugee.

It's like he lives a double life. I mean, in a day, he can literally give lectures 'till noon, then go on like: "See ya later at the concert folks," and proceeds being a celebrity.
Kind of like a super hero with a dual identity - Superman / Clark Kent or Spider-Man / Peter Parker.
In the 80s as a rock guitarist in australia, i met many touring bands. Out of all the rockstars i ever met, Brian was the best. The nicest, most genuine and humble guy. An english gentleman.
However much I'd like to be on first name with this guy, I'll always consider him a sir.
Look at the legacy, look at how he interacts with people. Many knights could learn a lot from him... Always so humble despite being a commander ;) best wishes Brian, if you're reading along... You deserve more.

Gosh I love Brian May. Such a gentleman. I was so happy for him when he got his Ph.D. I'm a physics person too and that is no small feat. He's right to be proud of it.
He looks like aged gracefully and he is 74.
Ok, this guy is: a rock star, a world renowned astrophysicist and even a master with words.
Nicest , smartest , most talented guy. He’s earned every bit of his fame, fortune, education all from HARD WORK .. Take note kids , nobody handed him a thing , he EARNED ALL OF IT.
“It took me 30 years to earn my doctorate”. Yeah he just took some time off to explore his interests.
For his continuing contributions to music, culture, science, and conservation, he is certainly deserving of a Knighthood.

I could listen to Brian the whole day. His voice is so relaxing.
It is hard enough to get a Ph.D. when you are in your twenties or thirties. But to pick up again decades later ...and to actually complete that dissertation is unimaginable. Congratulations, Dr. May, for your contribution to Astrophysics, but more so for your music.
He has probably been financially secure for many decades now and had his music career for such a long time so he probably has had the time and money to do it in later life that other regular folks might not have had.
Let's start a petition to get Brian Knighted. ✋
I was so mad with his recent death hoax...what a terrible thing to do. Nobody in the Queen stratasphere is prepared for that. Love you Brian! ❤️🙏
