- Expect to Win, EP1 - The 2024 TC America championship kicks off the beginning of April at Sonoma Raceway in California. This past weekend, we were down at Sebring International Raceway for our first pre-season testing of the new year. Lucas: Well, I drive around the country in a van, make videos, ski almost every day and race cars. BUT I do have weekends off and I am my own boss.

That time of year already?
Can't really get behind the promotion of sustaining a carbon fuel industry at this juncture, and humanities impact on the environment because of it. Wish I could go electric van. Hopefully, this sport will go electric sooner rather than later. I understand the love of piston powered sports, F1 was always my thing, but we exist in a closed environment. The global population has doubled since I was born, and carbon powered automobiles have gone from 6.5 million to 1.5 billion in the same period. There is only so much volume in our orange skin thick atmosphere. We can't keep pulling carbon out of the earth and burning it with the oxygen we breathe. We have to adapt our thinking.

I like the skiing and mtbing. Just saying, coal is all but dead. Oil and gas are on the chopping block, as it should be. I love auto racing and it will transition too. We all have transportation carbon foot prints that realistically can be eliminated, if the oil companies are pushed out of the way. They'd like it to be after they've extracted the last barrel of oil from the earth, and sold it for combustion. But we can't let that happen, even if we have to sacrifice some of the things and excesses it provides. E.g., Plastics aren't all bad, but the industry's pushing single use plastics was a con job on humanity for profit. Short of a cost prohibitive plasma furnace, recycling plastic is a fantasy.
