I don't know why to this point, people don't know you should not test switches in different places, they sound different all over the keyboard even on the same row and key size

Great review. I knew this was accurate when I saw the Alpacas all the way on the right. Alpaca V2s are the smoothest I've ever tried. Still hunting for good vint blacks tho lol
@@ShoobsTube Yooo, they just came in, they feel smooth stock but I can definitely hear the "shcc" sound when tapping on them fast. Do you think I should break them in first or just lube em' now?

I really like your channel, your production value is good, you speak clearly, and the videos are easy to follow. If I may offer some feedback it would be: For the wobble test, test way more than one. I'd say 10 at a minimum and show the most representative one on camera, but the more you can test the better. With the way MX style switches are manufactured there is a good amount of chance that goes in to how loose the top housing can be. In my experience I've had mostly great Black Inks and a non-zero amount of horrible wobbly JWK's. Something to think about!
I wanted to get alpacas but shipping from prime kb is rlly ex and ilumkb is outta stock (if u wanna help me find or gimme suggestions, I'm in Singapore)
Alpacas are your standard jwk linear. Nylon housing, Nylon/PC top, with POM stem. so any recolor will be basically similar. I see that lilacs are still in stock at Ilumkb. I’m not sure whether those are v1 or v2 housings but they are basically the same as alpacas.
damn shoobs your finger must be tired after clicking those switches like that for the comparison Seriously though - intro got the sub - but the comparison was really well done without being.... a snob? about it. And for some reason the Lavenders won it out for me.
Would something like Durock Teals 62g be equal to get yellows? I want a 5 pin switch with more smoothness and a slightly thokier sound but I think get yellows for me have the perfect spring weight. Would Durock Teals or Dolphins have the same weight?
have you tried tangerines before? they've been my fav linears in terms of sound and smoothness tealios after then gat inks but im looking for more of a deeper sound now with smooth feel u think these would fit that profile?
yeah, I have tried tangerines. Didn't have any in hand for this review, unfortunately, but from my experience, tangies are pretty high-pitched while being VERY smooth, which would most likely be the smoothest out of all the switches in this video. The choice of switch I would recommend would be based on how much you prefer smoothness over deepness or vice versa. if you can accept slightly less smoothness then these could be good. If you want a nice middle ground of smoothness and deepness Lavenders are not a bad choice.
@@ShoobsTube damn, i see, most deep sounding switches are scratchy and clacky switches are smoother...i'm gonna try putting gat inks in my board again and see how the scratchiness is
@@prosciutto1581 that’s not always the case, but regarding the switches that we are talking about, yeah. Also give those gat black inks a try, definitely not as smooth as tangies but I love the sound.

@@ShoobsTube Alright thanks anyway might order a pack of like 10 to try and see if that is the case. I like the typing feel of the POMs but the smoothness of the Alpacas. Overall, I think I might be leaning towards the Alpacas for the overall value but its preference.
Have not tried the lilacs, but looking at the housing material, seems slightly different as it says there's nylon mixed with polycarbonate for the top while Alpacas are just nylon I think. But to be completely honest that is probably negligible and will probably be the same as Alpacas LOL
Lilacs have a pc/nylon blended top, while alpacas have a full pc top. Lilacs will sound a tad deeper than alpacas. Lilacs are basically mauves with a lighter spring.

you can use the top housing and stem of these switches to make pomerons, just combine them with a gateron black ink bottom housing and spring.
the stem wobble on zeal switches makes any board with them feel like it came from walmart
The lavender's sounded the deepest to me , maybe i'm just tone deaf
Lubing the POM’s made a much more significant difference than lubing the Creams. There wasn’t really any difference between stock and lubed creams.
