Beltre showed even more respect to Felix by not joking or showing him up when he finally got him with a homer because Felix was having such a bad outing that night
Correct. Sometimes friendship is demonstrated by joking around and pretending to disrespect one another. Which is a very “guy” thing. Sometimes by compassion and respect. Depends on the circumstances.

You’d be hard pressed to find a friendship like this in the history of all sports: on opposite teams for considerably longer than they were ever teammates, yet noticeably friendly and jovial during nearly every single on field encounter. Truly unique.

Not sure what there manager's think about it but I also can't imagine there managers getting in the way of something very special either.
Just a pleasure to watch them play the game but keep there friendship as tight as it possibly can be.

I'm happy Adrian Beltre show up in Seattle for Felix's Mariners hof induction. It totally made Felix's day.
Adrian is a class act. A true ambassador of what the game is all about. Having fun.
This never gets old. Sure going to miss Beltre
And Felix. Hope to see them both in the HoF in a few years cracking jokes at each other.

When you see Felix’ face start cracking into that huge grin, it’s almost impossible not to laugh along with him. As Beltre knows all too well.

Probably the funniest rivals to ever play the game. Made it really fun to watch. They will be much missed.
I was so fortunate to be a Rangers fan and watching this for the years I did. Adrian and Felix made the games so much more fun to watch. Definitely miss this

Sure, these two are just good friends, unfortunately, you do not see this very often in major league baseball, just respect and friendship over rivalry. Baseball is just a pass time and a game and humans play it.
Jhebrix beltre said in an interview the ump actually got fined after this. It was very uncalled for. They were just talking and the umpire thought Beltre was talking about him, smh.

That's might be because most of these games were Felix Hernandez starts, which makes them generally better than most Mariners games.

I think both love the game, it's just in different ways. Americans hide their emotions much more and play a much more businesslike style of baseball. But I agree, they are so fun to watch. The latins I mean
@@Hentylion i think that's the problem with baseballs lack of popularity these days. Baseball is a game which is meant to be fun/entertaining. The American way we're raised to show no emotions and act like it's business as usual or risk being thrown at for violating the unwritten rules, which are outdated (and pretty dumb when you think about it). I love baseball but after playing with different cultures, I'd much rather go out of the country to watch a game where the energy (fans, players, staff announcers etc.) is vibrant the moment they introduce the players til the final out.

These two are a lot of fun to watch. Beltre was classy when he hit that home run, and gave a classy response when asked about it afterwards, which was basically that while they are friends, if Felix is pitching, the goal is to beat him, and Felix was having a tough outing, so that was not the time to give him any grief.

This Mashup has some of the best ones, but 90% of the at bats had between them had some antics. And when he was in the 3rd base dugout, Felix was at the top step jawing off at Adrian the whole game. You could easily make a 1 hour video of all their craziness!
