Remember there was zero humor in that man before Texas. All at his highlights, most of his goofing off, everything we love about him that was shown publicly, was done on the Texas rangers.
In Los Angeles he was on the Roids... Got off of them when he was in Seattle and had his numbers dropped dramatically, got to Texas and became a fundamental pure hitter and awesome defender.
He was a 260 to 270 hitter with every other team until 2010. And then all of a sudden he was hitting over 300 all the time.

I can’t think of his sons name right now and I’d probably have to ask my dad what it is but I have 2 very fond memories of them that I’ll think of whenever I hear his name. 1. I remember when he got our whole little league team into a baseball game with box seats and a gift basket that had a towel that I still use and a baseball that has some signatures from the Rangers. 2. I remember one time I was talking with his son after a game and we had just gotten ice cream from one of those old ice cream trucks that has cartoon characters as the different types of ice cream and he mentioned that his dad doesn’t like to get touched on the head. I may have some way I can contact them and just say hi and see what’s up. Guess that’ll be something I have to look into.

It's like watching a kid play a game that they live, except the "kid" is a full grown man with over 3100 hits and nearly 500 homers. Easy first ballot Hall of Famer and honestly should be unanimous entry first year eligible.
It doesn't hurt that he plays my favorite position on the field and is one of the best ever there. An argument can be made that he's overall the best 3rd basemen to ever play...given how good he was on both sides.

All of these highlights are the reason he's going to the Hall of Fame with a rangers cap on. It was only in his years with the Texas rangers that he was truly happy. He really let loose in Texas. He had his highest batting average, best defense, most All Star selections, and greatest impact on the Texas rangers.
Plus he is one of the very few players to get better overall after he stopped taking steroids. In 2003 and 2004 with the dodgers he experimented with them. After he stopped, his home run numbers dropped, but his batting average and defense skyrocketed.
