Great lesson
Great Licks Great Lessons btw watching yer D-15 under surgery over at the house that never sleeps.
Mahogany dread sounds great for this.
Awesome! Yeah Randy's doing a great job over there. The guitar is in transit to my house right now. Can't wait to play it! I'll post a video soon with a demo after his repair job. Pretty amazing what Randy was able to do with it.
Very professionally done... Slow enough for the beginner. Tab on screen were extremely helpful. Playing slow to screen tabs was incredible. This is the best tutorial on the web.
Thanks Kevin!
8 years later and this is still helping people. People like you are what made, and makes, RUclips great. Just under the surface of all the promoted and pushed drivel with no real substance, lies a vast amount of knowledge shared by good people.
Thanks for watching! Glad you could put this one it to good use! One of my favorites 👍
At 0:59 I was like. "Ahh. Why did you stop?" lol

Dick Burnett has one hell of a life story. Lived through WW1, WW2 & Vietnam. I think that losing his eyesight to a mugger and turning to music saved his life. With his vision He would have been in his early 30s when WW1 started and likely would have been drafted. Survival rate was not very high for that war. He died in 1977 at 93. That’s wild. This song was published in 1913 but without him diving deeper into his career, this song would have been forgotten about. Makes me think of how many unheard of classics we’re missing out on.
music history is fucking awesome
I must say that your tutorial for tab recognition is the must superior quality video I have ever seen on you tube . The way you allow a bar to travel across the staza bar as you play each note formation is the most awesome presentation for beginners and even those like myself wanting to get a better understand of how to read Tab . Thanks for your attention of quality . Thinking of getting lessons from a youtube teacher . You are top of my consideration.
Thanks William! Really appreciate the kind words! I spend a lot of time on the lessons and it's always nice getting positive fedback. This is why I LOVE Drop D tuning!
Said a Tool fan :)
Drop double D is even more d-elicious 😋
@@gmichaelhall crazy. I came to comment the same thing. Really just found double drop d. It's so fun and sounds awesome
You make it look so easy but this is harder than the flamenco strum pattern I learned that took 3 hours to get under my fingers. But just listen to that sound, it'll be glorious when it's done 😊 🇮🇪
This musician sounds fantastic! Enjoy!
Great lesson! 🎸🇺🇸
Lol, I upvoted this as soon as I heard the accent. Just beautiful! Much love and respect all the way from Brazil, my friend. Great job!

Hey Matthew, Thanks a lot for the comment! Yeah, the channel and my website have both come a long way...started out shooting some pretty low quality videos on the old webcam and the original website was pretty poor. Muy bueno el tutorial, muchas gracias por compartirlo. Like y suscribe.
Awesome!!!!!
Yea i wish
I’m an ok guitar player and god damn I won’t be able to play this 😂 wow man you are fantastic.
No a lot of us cant or couldnt. Fake it, just play simple chords, for a while then you will get it eventually. Meantime you have a blast!
I try to be humble in my self assessment of my guitar skills to others and I consider myself firmly in the massive level of intermediate. Im far from beginner and definitely not expert level. I cannot shred by any means. But guys, this song is deceptively easy. Its way easier than it sounds. It sounds expert which is the genius in it. I hope you guys continue practicing. Youll get it.
That is BadAss..... Great Feel
Thanks!
Perfect. Great demonstration.
What kind of acoustic and mic is he using I wonder? Such a nice, full, warm sound.
